What you need to do so that your nails do not peel. Other methods of solving the problem

I believe that hands and especially nails are a very important element in the appearance of any woman. And when some kind of trouble happens with my nails, I feel unsure and feel shy once again to show them somewhere. And exfoliating nails is a real disaster. And so just can not get rid of it.

When I discovered this problem, I immediately began to find out the reasons why the nails can begin to exfoliate. And as soon as I started to find out, I was horrified simply. It turns out that there can be a lot of reasons, and some of them indicate serious health problems.

Reasons for stratification of nails

The reasons why the nails are folded can be divided into two groups: external and internal.

External:

  • Constant contact with detergents and household chemicals.
  • Prolonged contact with water.
  • Some cosmetics (including nail polish).
  • Frequent repainting of nails and removal of varnish using acetone-containing fluids.
  • Any injuries and damage to the nail plate (for example, the habit of biting the nails).
  • The impact of cold in winter.

Internal:

  • Deficiency in the body of vitamins A and E, which contribute to the normal and healthy development of nails.
  • Frequent or prolonged dieting (especially mono diets).
  • Infection of the intestines with helminths.
  • Food deficiency of calcium, zinc, silicon and protein.
  • Heart disease.
  • Anemia.
  • Diabetes mellitus or thyroid disorders.
  • Long-term inflammatory diseases - tuberculosis, kidney infections, chronic bronchitis.
  • Blood diseases.
  • Metabolic disorders and decreased immunity.
  • Stress and insomnia.

The list is impressive, but that’s not all.

Problems with nails can be not only in exfoliation, they can still have various spots, scars, deformations. These changes in the nail plate can determine the condition of the internal organs, as well as the true cause of problems with the nails .

If the color of the exfoliating nail the plate becomes pale or bluish , with full confidence we can say that a person has problems with the cardiovascular system.

If the nail flakes and thickens, and deepened stripes appear on it , then this speaks of the hidden infection processes. This, however, happens after severe infections.

Longitudinal scars   on the nail indicate malnutrition and malnutrition.

If the nails exfoliate too much most likely you have serious metabolic problems. Such violations in the body can not be allowed to drift and you must definitely consult a doctor.

If in addition to the stratification of the nails, they begin to appear white spots You need to check your blood sugar. This may be a predisposition to diabetes or its initial stage.

Yellow spots   on exfoliated nails require a mandatory consultation with a pulmonologist, as this may indicate lung diseases.

Appearance on exfoliating nails of small convex white dots , resembling beads, indicates the presence of a latent viral infection in a person and requires serious treatment.

If the nail the plate becomes concave , then most often this indicates a deficiency of iron in the body.

From all this it follows that the problem of exfoliating nails is serious enough and it is best to start treatment with a consultation with a doctor .

If you are sure that your nails began to exfoliate due to:

  • frequent application and change of varnish;
  • or regular and prolonged exposure to water and in contact with detergents;
  • sure that you have no chronic and infectious diseases, then I know how to help you.

Nail treatment folk remedies

I started treating my nails with blood donation , making sure that the test results are satisfactory, I began to look for a way to solve my problem.

There are several ways to cure nails. You can use special therapeutic nail polishes or creams, pencils . There are a lot of them, different manufacturers and focus. Some strengthen, others create a protective layer, others nourish the necessary vitamins and minerals. But I did not begin to acquire such a tool for myself, but decided to turn to traditional medicine for help.

Here, absolutely everything is natural and present:

  • So, a bath for hands and nails with sea salt . Salt should be free of flavorings and colorings. For 0.5 liters of warm (preferably boiled and slightly chilled) water we take 1 tablespoon of salt with a slide. Stir until the salt is completely dissolved and dip your hands in this solution for 20 minutes. Then wipe dry and lubricate with a nourishing cream. The duration of treatment is 10 days. Repeat in a month. To prevent and strengthen nails, such a bath is enough to do once a week.
  • Another good and personally tested way for me to repair nails with olive oil . For this you need 3 tablespoons of oil mixed with 0.5 teaspoon of lemon juice. Then rub the mixture into nails and cuticles, immediately put on cotton gloves. It is most convenient to do this before bedtime. The duration of the course is 7 days in a row, then a 7 day break and again 7 days of procedures. For prevention, sufficient once every two weeks.
  • Tray of milk with gelatin . In a glass of milk, take a teaspoon (without a hill) of gelatin, dissolve and lower your hands in this solution for 15-20 minutes. This tool perfectly strengthens and moisturizes your nails. After wipe dry and grease the cuticle and nails with lemon juice. Vitamin C will give your nails smoothness and youth.
  • There is one nail mask that I really like . We take a small amount of blue clay, add a little warm olive oil and 5 drops of iodine. Stir until smooth (the mask should not be too thin) and apply to the nails, stand for 20 minutes. The course of treatment with such a mask is 7 days. If the nails are in very poor condition, you can extend the course to 10-12 days. I took this mask into service and use it regularly for prevention. And I put not only on the nails, but completely on the hands to the wrist. The result is amazing. Recommend!
  • Get one of the essential oils at the pharmacy:   olive, castor, sea buckthorn, sheep or jojoba. Rub a few drops into each nail plate and cuticle daily before bedtime for 14 days. Very good effect.

A few words in conclusion

I was able to completely restore my nails in about a month and a half. In addition to baths, masks and oils, I’m parallel took a multivitamin complex

and took separately   vitamin A   (to coordinate with the doctor).

Well, she took care of her hands, of course. All household chores related to household chemicals and water were done exclusively with rubber gloves.

For the period of treatment and restoration of nails - no varnish!

A well-groomed girl always watches the beauty of her pens. And this means that her nails not only have a beautiful manicure, but also shine with health. Healthy strong nails in our time are not found at every step. Ecology, poor nutrition and the frantic pace of life of a modern woman - all this affects the condition of the skin, hair and nails.

What to do if the nails peel

As we already mentioned, the causes of delamination of nails lie in the state of our body:

  • metabolic disease,
  • decreased immunity,
  • stress,
  • overwork,
  • poor blood circulation
  • accumulation of toxins in the body.

But there are external causes of the poor condition of the nails:

  • the manicure procedure is in violation of the basic rules,
  • household cleaning products are used without gloves.

We will restore the health of nails both from the outside and from the inside! So that the nails do not peel, you need to consider all the factors that affect their condition.

Nails are flaking - we strengthen them from the inside

  1. You are clearly lacking in vitamins and minerals. To prevent nails from peeling and breaking, eat more apples, bananas, prunes and dried apricots, these products make up for the deficiency of potassium in the body. Eating zinc-rich foods, such as pumpkin seeds, is good.
  2. A complex of vitamins is best purchased at a pharmacy. And also there is 2 times a week seaweed, various seafood, honey and walnuts. They contain a lot of iodine, which is necessary for good nail growth. Now you really need vitamin B, which is present in wheat bran, in greens.

Ambulance what to do if the nails are flaked

  1. So, as soon as you notice peeling, you need to file a peeled place right away. Thus, the nail will not be able to exfoliate even further.
  2. If the nails are folded, then they need to be strengthened, provided with nutrition and moisturize the nail plate. To do this, after a manicure (filing a peeled place), be sure to lubricate each nail with cream or oil.
  3. It is not recommended to paint nails with ordinary varnish while they are sick (exfoliate). Better cover the nail plate with protective enamel that heals the nails and protects them from external harmful effects.
  4. Nail tray with iodine and oil. In a container, place 1 cup of very warm water, dissolve iodine in it (1 tsp. 5% tincture), add vegetable oil (2 tbsp.). Now mix everything thoroughly to get a homogeneous mass. Dip your nails in a warm bath and hold it for 15 minutes.
  5. Salt bath for nails is also an excellent tool to deal with such a problem as layering of nails. After curing the nails, do it once a week for prevention. Dissolve sea or table salt in water, while let the temperature of the water be +37 degrees. Keep your nails in a salt bath for 15-20 minutes. During the treatment of nails, perform the procedure 3 times a week for 10 days.
  6. If you know that your nails are weak and can peel off, we advise you not to violate certain rules of manicure in the future ... Use nail polish remover without acetone, otherwise the nails will be very dry. Constantly walking with painted nails is harmful, give a respite to the nails after 5 days. The respite should be at least two days.
  7. When you file nails, perform movements in only one direction to avoid small cracks in the nails. Guide the file from the edge to the center using long waving movements. Let the nail not be sharp, polish the edges. Least of all nails break when oval or semi-square.
  8. In the salons, the masters know exactly what to do if the nails peel. But we will tell you how to make a medical compress. Mix 70 grams of water, 5 grams of alum and 25 grams of glycerin.

If the nails peel off every day, we recommend that you rub any nourishing cream into your hands and nails daily before bedtime. Nails will become stronger if you often rub vegetable oil and lemon juice into them. We also remind you that you can only wash the dishes, wash clothes or do cleaning in the house with gloves on. Be careful with household chemicals when your nails peel off.

A beautiful manicure can be done only if you have healthy, elastic, smooth nails. Any efforts are reduced to zero when breaking the plates, especially in the corners. In order for a manicure to always be perfect, it is important to understand the question of what is nail foliation and how to solve this problem. There are many ways to give strength to plates both in specialized salons and at home.

What do flaky nails look like

Horny plates that cover the phalanges of the fingers and toes of a person are called nails. Throughout life, they grow at a rate of 0.1-0.12 mm daily, can be updated and independently restored. The free edge of a healthy plate is about 0.38 mm thick. In the presence of pathologies, the indicator can increase or decrease.

The main substance that determines the strength of horny plates is keratin. Gloss and elasticity depend on the presence of lipids and water. In the normal state, all layers of the plate are tightly pressed against each other. Gaps and microcracks begin to form under the influence of aggressive factors. Their increase leads to the formation of cavities and delamination of the plate.

Such nails are characterized by dryness, lack of gloss characteristic of healthy plates, brittleness, slow growth, and fragility. To understand the cause of the disease, you need to contact a mycologist to study for the presence of a pathogenic fungus. Treatment requires an integrated approach, should include the intake of vitamins, dietary supplements, cosmetic procedures.

Causes of exfoliation of fingernails

To get rid of the pathology, it is important to understand what factors provoked it. The nails on the hands are stratified for various reasons, both due to internal problems of the body, and under the influence of external aggressors. Chemical compositions for cleaning and washing, hot water, alkaline solutions adversely affect the condition of nails. Often the plates exfoliate on the hands due to the use of formaldehyde varnishes. They can be damaged by improper removal of artificial nails or the use of varnish solvents containing acetone.

Often, fingernails begin to exfoliate due to a decrease in the content of fat-like substances in the structure or dehydration. For musicians (harpers, pianists, guitarists), this pathology can be an occupational disease. Stenographers can also receive mechanical damage when typing, which provokes the foliation of the nails. Frequent bruises, squeezing the plate lead to splitting. Habits to pick or scrape something also lead to the fact that the nails begin to peel.

As for endogenous factors (internal problems) that provoke the development of pathology, they include unbalanced nutrition. A diet low in zinc, silicon, protein, sulfur, silicon, selenium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium provokes lamination of the nail plates on the hands. Often a problem is encountered by people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal tract), endocrine system. Onycholysis can be the result of intoxication of the body, skin diseases, injuries.

In children

If your child’s fingernails begin to exfoliate, it is recommended to establish the cause of the pathology at the reception of the mycologist.   Often it is caused by the following factors:

  • mechanical injuries;
  • burns;
  • avitaminosis;
  • fungal infections;
  • stress
  • metabolic disease;
  • puberty (puberty in adolescents);
  • weak immunity;
  • problems with the adrenal glands.

In adults

Before proceeding to the elimination of pathology, it is important to identify provoking factors. In adults, the fingernails begin to exfoliate for one of the following reasons:

  • Aggressive environment. Frequent contacts with household chemicals (detergents, bleaches, washing powders) without gloves negatively affect the structure of the nail plates.
  • Frequent hypothermia of the hands provokes improper blood circulation and stratification of the nails.
  • Improper cosmetic procedures, extensions, removal of artificial plates.
  • The use of varnishes containing formaldehydes, solvents with acetone.
  • Injury of the nail plates associated with professional activities or improper care.
  • Unbalanced diet (lack of magnesium, sulfur, calcium, selenium, phosphorus, vitamins A, D, E).
  • Metabolic disorder, exhaustion.
  • Hormonal changes in the body of women (pregnancy, lactation, menopause).
  • Skin diseases (fungus, eczema, lichen planus, psoriasis).

Treatment for exfoliating nails

After identifying the reason why the fingernails began to exfoliate, you need to start therapy. It should consist in eliminating the underlying disease and comprehensively strengthening the plates. If the nails are flaking, the following measures are recommended:

  • With vitamin deficiency, vitamin complexes are prescribed: Pikovit, Multitabs, Pregnavit and others.
  • The inclusion in the diet of foods high in iron and calcium: cottage cheese, raisins, almonds, cheeses, milk, broccoli, cereals.
  • Daily baths with lemon juice, warm vegetable oil, iodine.
  • Regular processing of the nail plates on the hands with oil solutions of vitamins A, E.
  • Therapy of fungal infections and related diseases according to indications.
  • If the nails on the hands exfoliate in a child who constantly bites them, weaning from a bad habit is necessary. To do this, visit a psychologist.

Drug therapy

When the fingernails begin to exfoliate, it is important to approach the treatment comprehensively.   The following strengthening agents can be purchased at the pharmacy:

  1. Creams for moisturizing the hands: Diadem, Folk healer, High-grade. The compounds are regularly rubbed into the area near the nails and cuticles.
  2. Wax for nails. The drug is an alternative to salon sealing of the interlayers of the plate. Its action is based on the properties of natural beeswax.
  3. Healing mud. For the nail plates on the hands, succulent, silty, peaty with vitamins, mineral components are suitable. Mud is diluted in water and applied to the nails in a dense layer. Keep the composition for up to 15 minutes, then rinse with salted water.
  4. Varnishes with growth activators and vitamins will help protect the plate from external negative factors, seal exfoliated flakes. Effective are therapeutic varnishes from the FIONA, Dance Legend, Eveline series.

What to do if the nail plates began to exfoliate? And why do nails start to crumble and break? What is the reason for the weakness and fragility of nails, what is the need to nourish and strengthen the nail plates? Anyone, of course, knows that nails are an indicator of our health, so what are the underlying causes of brittle nails and how to solve this problem?

Many women experience such a problem as exfoliating or breaking nails. Probably, every woman asked herself more than once: "Well, why does everyone have normal nails, and I always flush?" But this problem is not only yours. Very few people have a perfect nail plate.

Most often, the main cause of stratification and fragility is the lack of vitamins and minerals (calcium, zinc, silicon, vitamin D, amino acids). You can eliminate the existing deficiency of amino acids and trace elements by adjusting the diet - by introducing foods rich in vitamins, trace elements, proteins into your diet. Saturation of the diet with fish, beans, liver, dried fruits, nuts and herbs will help stop the process of stratification of nails. Vitamin deficiency can also be eliminated with the help of special vitamin-mineral complexes containing all the vitamins and minerals necessary for nail growth, or medicinal varnishes, oils, and creams specially designed for this.

But, there are other reasons that contribute to the stratification and fragility of the nail plates - this is the harmful effect of water and various aggressive environments. At the same time, the nails dry out, become brittle, lose their luster and attractive appearance.

Every day, no matter how beautiful we try to be, it is impossible to avoid such important everyday worries as washing dishes, washing, cleaning. A woman has long been considered the guardian of the hearth, and no one is to blame that everyone, many, many centuries ago, had their own specific household duties, both for a man and a woman. So we sometimes have to sigh, looking at our short nails, from which small pieces are exfoliated here and there, once and almost half of the nail has come off a piece ... It's sad, insulting and ugly, and sometimes there comes a period when it’s absolutely necessary not only to wash dishes, and to tear pots, pans, stove, and even an iron grater from the burner, from the metal wires of which the nails come in a terrible deplorable state, and you can’t hide it with any varnish, just because the varnish is already damaged e nails begin to exfoliate in an even more accelerated mode.

Each woman, peering at the hands of her friends, at least once asked herself the question: “Why is everything wonderful with nails, and mine are stratified? What is the problem, what are they missing? ” But if you undertake to answer this question, then you will probably be surprised that many girls and women face this problem, namely most and only a few have a strong nail plate, given by nature, and not "worn out at home."

For what reasons do our nails begin to exfoliate? Firstly, detergents play a very important role in the life of our nails. You will probably be surprised to learn the fact that no matter how expensive the dishwashing liquid, etc., it in any case dries the nail plate. Harmful to our nails is also a frequent stay in a humid environment, so if your profession is directly related to work, in the course of which there is contact with water and detergents, the first thing to do is get used to doing all the work associated with contact of hands with water and aggressive environments, gloves. Although at first it may not seem very convenient.

If the hands are not protected from constant exposure to water and the chemical constituents of detergents, then not only the appearance of the nails, but also the hands, including those, can suffer.

It is necessary to treat exfoliating nails. You can improve the germinal area of \u200b\u200bthe nail plate (cuticle) with oils and creams for the cuticle. At the same time, you should pamper your hands with baths with sea salt - a good tool to strengthen the nails. In 1 liter of warm water, 1 teaspoon of sea salt is dissolved, fingers immersed in it for 15-20 minutes.

Such baths are done within 20 days every other day (a total of 10-12 sessions), and for prophylactic purposes, after eliminating the stratification, it is enough to do a bath 1 time per week. Such compresses will also help laminating nails: for 50 ml of water, take 20 ml of glycerin and 5 g of alum. It is enough to carry out compresses 2 times a week for a month.

Flaking nails are not a reason for refusing a manicure. A manicure is done at least 1 time in 10-14 days. During a manicure, it is better not to use acetone-based nail polish removers (it dries nails very much), and under a colored nail polish it is best to apply a therapeutic nail polish for brittle and exfoliating nails (it will nourish the nails with vitamins and protect it from the harmful effects of the main nail polish). Pay special attention to the file! Metal files scratch and injure nails, the resulting small cracks contribute to the separation of nails. It is best to use a file with a special coating (for example, crystal). The nails should be processed with a file in one direction, giving them an oval or slightly square shape, but sawing the nails on the side most often entails the formation of cracks and breaks, making the nails weak. At the end of the manicure, it is necessary to apply a healing nourishing varnish or treat the nails with a special cream.

Lack of vitamins is a very important factor. After all, our nails, like our entire body as a whole, need additional “nutrition”, they also lack minerals, vitamins and various trace elements. In the case when you are faced with this particular problem, you can, after consulting with a specialist, drink pills for a while, use special creams for hands and nails, as well as nourishing oils.

There is another problem that many face - this is a lack of calcium in the body. In this case, you can help the body by creating a certain daily fortified menu, as well as drink calcium tablets. Calcium must be drunk necessarily in conjunction with vitamin D, which helps a lot in this case, since it helps the body absorb calcium and, moreover, is very useful for those people who are not able to often go to the sun or even just breathe fresh by air. Calcium tablets without vitamin D are useless, since they are practically not absorbed.

Calcium can also be obtained independently and at home: for this, it is necessary to rinse and dry the eggshell well, then crush and pour into a tightly closed jar. This calcium must be stored in a dark, cool place, you can take 1 teaspoon per day for 2 weeks. Such calcium is remarkably absorbed by the body and the result is really no worse than taking conventional conventional tablets, along with vitamin D.

It is for the nails themselves that it is very useful to use special oils and creams for the cuticle. Removing the cuticle is also very important for the nail, since when removing the cuticle, we open exactly the area through which our fingernail breathes and feeds. Baths are also useful for nails, for example with castor oil, which is a very powerful medicine (just don’t try to take it inside, there are such cases), a bath with lemon juice, a special firming varnish, etc. Do not forget which no matter how expensive the varnish is, of course, it will be more gentle than the usual traditional one, but the composition of the varnish for damaged nails is in any case harmful, even if it contains a lot of useful substances.

In winter, all these problems are aggravated, since the lack of vitamins in winter is more acute for us than in summer or autumn. Therefore, do not forget that not only for your nails, but for the whole body you need a good healthy diet enriched with vitamins. Juices, fruits, the correct regime of the day, proper nutrition, fresh air - all this is necessary for every person. Do not forget that our nails and our hair are an indicator of the state of health of our body.

Unfortunately, nail plates are not given to everyone since birth strong, strong and healthy. If you want to get a noticeable and significant result, then you need constant care for your nails, in order to have your own long, well-groomed and beautiful nails - they also need to be protected. But in the event that you do not have the opportunity and time to look after your nails, and they also grow poorly and constantly break, then you can think about the simplest solution in this case - about gel building.

Well, for prevention, it is enough to do a salt bath once a week.

But what is categorically not recommended is the bathtubs with soda. Sometimes they resort to this tool to clean the dirt from under the nails. But in this case, the nails will become just "cotton"! True, this procedure is useful for the hands, but make sure that the nails do not touch the water.

If the nails are flaking, smear your hands and nails daily with any nourishing cream. Thin, easily breaking nails will become stronger if rubbed with lemon juice or vegetable oil. Also try not to deal with detergents at least temporarily.

It is useful to protect nails from fragility to include in the daily diet foods rich in vitamins D and A, calcium, mineral salts, gelatin.

For daily hand cleaning, use an antibacterial soap, but develop the habit of washing your hands twice: the first time with ordinary soap, the second with cream soap. This will save the skin from peeling.

Protects ordinary salt from brittle nails and skin peeling. The procedure is most conveniently done in the evening hours. Add a little salt to the boiling water tank, then cool the resulting solution to such a temperature that it does not burn the skin. After holding your hands for several seconds in hot saline, wash them in plain water and wipe them dry with a towel or napkin. Then you can rub glycerin into the skin.

Brittle yellowed nails will clean weekly baths of warm vegetable oil, into which a few drops of lemon juice and vitamin A are added.

In fact, a quality firming agent can only be sold in a pharmacy, and it must be certified and registered as a medicine. To find such gels is not difficult, but their cost is quite high. Therefore, many girls have found a more budgetary, but no less effective alternative - to prepare a tool that strengthens the nails on their own.

Among the abundance of tips from the network, experts recognized such recipes as safe:

These tools are time-tested and always show a good result. The main thing is that they will not harm your health. At the same time, biogel is the same as standard varnish in aesthetic terms. However, do not forget that a standard solvent is used to remove this substance, which adversely affects the nail plates.
  2. Clever enamel.
      This is a special reinforcer for nail plates, enriched with vitamin A and E. This tool is safe and can be applied as a base for varnish or as an independent manicure.
  3. Firming substances.
      Such products look like transparent varnish, but they have a breathable structure. They are saturated with vitamins, which is confirmed by certificates. Such a varnish does not contain acetone or formaldehyde, as it is intended to care for nails, intensively nourishing them and protecting them from the effects of environmental factors (household chemicals, high and low temperatures, etc.

To prevent the appearance of brittleness and delamination of the nail plates, it is worth following these tips:

  • washing dishes, damp and other house cleaning should be carried out only with gloves to prevent contact of household chemicals with nails;
  • if you like a bright manicure, then regularly give your nails a rest, removing nail polish every month for at least a week;
  • use hand cosmetics that protect against the cold and UV exposure;
  • in case of cold weather, always wear gloves according to season;
