Demonstration on Sparrow Hills on March 18. Holiday on Sparrow Hills

Moscow. 18th of March. website - The student festival "Spring", dedicated to the third anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, will be held on Saturday in Moscow on Sparrow Hills near Moscow State University (MSU).

“The event is being held on the initiative of representatives of student organizations of Moscow universities with the support of the Moscow government,” the event organizers said in a statement issued the day before.

It is planned that as part of the festival from 10:00 am there will be “creative master classes, a variety of sports and entertainment facilities, animation and interactive programs, the GTO race “The Way Home” will take place, in which about 2 thousand people are expected to take part.”

In the evening there will be a festive concert, which will end with fireworks, the organizers say.

Traffic on a number of streets near Moscow State University will be limited on Saturday due to public events, the press service of the capital's traffic police department reported.

“From 6.00 to 22.00 hours on March 18, 2017 along Universitetsky Avenue from Vernadsky Avenue to Mosfilmovskaya Street, Academician Khokhlova, Lebedev, Mendeleevskaya, Kolmogorov streets, as well as Michurinsky Avenue from Kosygina Street to Lomonosovsky Avenue,” the message says. In addition, from 22:00 on March 17 to 22:00 on March 18, it will be impossible to drive along Kosygina Street from Vernadsky Avenue to Mosfilmovskaya Street.

The traffic police reminds drivers that it is necessary to choose alternative routes in advance, as well as strictly follow the requirements of road signs, requirements and instructions of traffic police officers.

The other day, the rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, noted that he knows about the ambiguous attitude of students towards the “Spring” festival, but this event will be held in the city, and not on the territory of the university.

“The organizers, of course, met with the students, and before they met with me. After that, the students came to me and said that they were being asked what they would like to see at the spring festival. The students are active, they started writing on social networks. This is not a Moscow State University event, this is a city event in Moscow,” Sadovnichy said at a press conference on March 14.

“Of course, I demanded that there be no window lighting, that there be no fireworks, and that this concert be for two hours on Saturday. This is what I could ask for on someone else’s territory adjacent to Moscow State University. This festival, “Spring,” will take place, there will be famous artists there, I don’t know. Our guys are divided. Some think it’s interesting, some think it’s not, but this festival is that part of life that surrounds Moscow University,” the rector emphasized.

Earlier, information appeared on blogs that the flower beds in front of the Main Building of Moscow State University were allegedly being destroyed to hold a rally in support of reunification with Crimea. In this regard, Sadovnichy explained that the flower beds are covered with sand and covered with plywood in order to preserve them during the Spring festival, and not to destroy them. “To preserve it, we decided to cover everything with sand, and then we will restore it. And they covered it with sand or plywood boards so as not to damage this surface,” said the rector of Moscow State University.

Leaders of political parties are expected to speak at the Spring festival, but without the participation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov said that the party will not take part in Saturday’s Moscow rally-concert, as he considers the support that the authorities provide to citizens of the Russian Federation in all regions of the country to be insufficient.

“They (the party of the parliamentary majority - IF) do not want to deal with the main thing today: and most importantly - support for citizens in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which would ensure a decent life and real work,” Zyuganov said at a press conference at the Interfax central office, responding when asked if it was true that he would not go to the rally on Vorobyovy Gory.

According to him, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has long planned a very large program for March 18, which provides for the participation of all party activists in the events of the People's Patriotic Union, which is headed by Zyuganov.

The festive rally-concert "Spring" on Saturday evening was held on Sparrow Hills in Moscow in honor of the third anniversary of the entry of Crimea and Sevastopol into Russia. According to police, about 150 thousand people took part in the event. The festival was opened by "Sevastopol Waltz" performed by Evgeny Kungurov and the song and dance ensemble of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. A little later, the head of the Duma United Russia party, Vladimir Vasilyev, the leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, and the chairman of A Just Russia, Sergei Mironov, spoke from the stage.

A large festive event was held on the university square in front of the main building of Moscow State University in honor of the Day of Reunification of Crimea with Russia celebrated on March 18. Along with the Russian tricolor, the flags of political parties, which also took part in the celebration, fluttered on the square.

The hosts of the concert, Valdis Pelsh and Svetlana Zeynalova, noted that simultaneously with Moscow, the festive concert is also taking place in Simferopol on the main square of the city.

The festival opened with the “Sevastopol Waltz” performed by Evgeny Kungurov and the song and dance ensemble of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Ordinary students also spoke from the stage, who, in particular, shared their chants: “Sevastopol, Crimea, Moscow, we will always be together!”

Then representatives of three of the four factions of the State Duma - United Russia, LDPR and A Just Russia (only the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was not present) took the stage.

“Three years ago, when a coup took place in Ukraine, the Crimeans had their say. And, of course, the will of the Russian President, the will of the Russian people allowed this historical event to happen. Three years have passed. We see that this is the right path,” the faction leader noted "United Russia" in the State Duma Vladimir Vasiliev.

“For this act, which united the Russian people in Russia and Crimea, we were punished with sanctions. But we have become stronger,” he added.

LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky noted that Russia has reason to celebrate, but “in Europe and America there is nothing to celebrate, they have no joyful days.”

“We celebrate the day when the original Russian land - Crimea - returned to its native harbor. If someone tries to challenge something, we tell them all: only the Russian flag will always fly over Crimea! And no one will dare to touch it!” “, Zhirinovsky said to applause.

“Today we say thank you to the Crimeans, who three years ago showed courage and will, said their word that they want to live in Russia,” said the leader of A Just Russia, Sergei Mironov. “I say thank you to the citizens who supported this expression of the will of the Crimeans. I I say thank you to our president, who has gone out of his way to make Russia bigger and to make the Russian world bigger."

The rally-concert on Vorobyovy Gory is taking place as part of the large student festival "Spring", organized on the initiative of representatives of student organizations of the capital's universities and with the support of the Moscow government.

Let us recall that on March 18, 2014, an agreement was signed in the Kremlin on the admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the formation of new subjects within the Russian Federation. As part of the festival, creative master classes, sports and entertainment events took place throughout the day, among which was the traditional GTO race with the symbolic name “The Way Home.” On the occasion of the holiday, the route along the Vorobyovy Gory, which was covered by participants from all over the country, was dedicated to the history of the Crimean peninsula.

Toward the end, the entire square sang the Russian anthem. The festival ended with fireworks.

According to the capital's headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 150 thousand people came to the festival. And our viewers also watched it - the broadcast was conducted by Channel One.

The grueling race through the Sparrow Hills was called “The Way Home” - a dedication to the history of Crimea. Every obstacle is a page to remember. The firing point is “Defense of Sevastopol”, the final line is “Assault on Sapun Mountain”. There are many tests, and the finish line is last steps to his native harbor.

A warm and cloudless weekend after a gloomy, long winter, like a symbol of those big changes. The bright March sun is like a reflection of the “Crimean Spring,” which those gathered here called perhaps the most important episode in the history of modern Russia.

“Native Crimea! Many acquaintances and friends are from there. Every year I vacation in Crimea. This is such a favorite place, kind, with sympathetic people, with whom it is always a pleasure to be,” says MADI student Vyacheslav Ilyin. “People are happy, and I often hear pleasant comments about how the people of Russia love them, come and are happy to communicate with them and meet them in any corner of our country.”

There are Russian flags near the stage - from huge canvases held by ten people, to small flags in the hands of those whom their parents brought to the concert in a stroller.

They came to the concert to perform themselves. The songs and slogans contain emotions that have not subsided even after three years. Saratov, Barnaul, Khabarovsk - tens of thousands of guests from all over the country.

This year the festive rally is taking place on Vorobyovy Gory for the first time. The famous observation deck - from here the whole of Moscow is at a glance. The Kremlin towers are also visible, where the fateful documents on the reunification of Crimea with Russia were signed three years ago. Very close is the main building of Moscow State University, which is also symbolic. Today the university has many joint programs and projects for students, graduate students, and teachers from Crimea.

Polina Zharkova celebrated the “Crimean Spring” in her homeland, in Sevastopol. Now he studies in Moscow.

“What does this holiday mean to me? Firstly, it is personal, because I remember those feelings when we, just like now here, stood on the main square of Sevastopol, watched the concert, watched how the votes were counted, were sick with all our souls, because we hoped for a future that now, thank God, we have it,” says RATI-GITIS student Polina Zharkova.

For some of the guests this is a celebration with tears in their eyes. Of course, out of happiness. Someone, on the contrary, says that the third anniversary is already warm family celebration. Family alone - almost 150 million people. Home is all of Russia.

“Welcome home! Historically, it was that Crimea was ours, and it returned to us. We helped people, and they have now become part of our home and family,” said student Maryana Rizun.

The historical date is firmly entrenched in the calendar. And for many it has already become a tradition to see each other in Moscow in order to once again attend a festive concert, see the grandiose fireworks and once again welcome that same spring.
