How to embroider a circle with isothread. Works in the technique of isothreading, schemes for beginners - do-it-yourself paintings

The isothreading technique is a very easy to master needlework that is understandable enough for beginners of all ages. Perfectly develops fine motor skills in older children preschool age, forms creative thinking, aesthetic skills and good taste.

This type of art does not require special costs. It is enough to stock up on a simple kit for creativity, which will allow you to make isothread embroidery of both a small postcard and a large picture. Now I would like to consider how to choose the right materials for work, so that the process of embroidery using the isothreading technique brings only pleasure.

The most important requirement of the foundation in isothread embroidery is the ability to hold the required shape. Therefore, the basis of the work must be solid enough, but at the same time make it possible to make punctures in it without too much effort. Use any material: multi-colored cardboard, suede, velor or cloth, “velvet paper”. For beginners the best choice in work, cardboard will become the isothread. It will help to avoid tension breaks that can occur on velvet paper or pulling together of the design on the skin. Gimp embroidery in work will require the most dense cardboard.

Watercolor paper will also work as a base, but for more experienced artists. Wool embroidery in this case will be the best option, although, far from the best option in combination with other basics.

Threads, advantages and disadvantages

It is generally accepted that floss and iris threads are best suited for working in the isothreading technique. Materials of this quality have a pleasant sheen and sheen, which looks very advantageous in contrast to the base. It is believed that wool embroidery is suitable for the initial stage of learning isothread. Learning to work with such material is easy and enjoyable, but the end result usually looks very fuzzy. This is due to repeated pulling of the woolen thread through narrow holes, which leads to its fraying. Also not suitable option is work in the technique of isothread with chenille or any textured threads, like mohair or boucle threads. A rare phenomenon is the embroidery with a cantle. If there is a need for this particular material, then we advise you to choose soft and thin threads of the gimp.

Also, for work, you need to stock up: scissors (embroidery with a cantle will require additional scissors, due to the special approach to this type of thread), a pair of embroidery needles, an awl, tweezers, a pencil, an eraser, as well as a ruler and compass. Stock up on glue to pre-treat the tip of the thread. After processing PVA, you can achieve its smoothness and elasticity. You will also need diagrams with numbers. What iso-thread embroidery can do without them?

Sequence of work

  1. Embroidery begins with the preparation of a sketch or draft drawing;
  2. Considering the features of the isothread technique, make a drawing of a natural size;
  3. Next is the choice of base. In case of lack of rigidity, you can duplicate it;
  4. We fasten the drawing on the reverse side of the embroidery with isothread, if it is not made directly on the base;
  5. We make the markup of the main elements of the composition;
  6. We make holes in the right places;
  7. The stage of filling all the elements of embroidery with isothread. The ends of the threads are attached with glue and paper or tape;
  8. We make the underside invisible. To do this, we glue the back side with cardboard or duplicate the base;
  9. Final touches of embroidery with isothread. Embroidery is framed.

Fill in simple shapes correctly

The first thing novice needlewomen should know is that all compositions of the isothread technique consist of simple elements: circle, angle, triangle, square and rhombus. In this lesson, we will look at the technology of filling each of them.

We embroider corners

Note: Change the colors of the thread, not only after you finish sewing with the thread different figures, but also at any stages of the execution of the same element. It can turn out to be a very successful play of color.

Tip: When marking adjacent corners of embroidery with isothread, never forget to divide their faces into an equal number of points. Even if their length is different, remember that the number of points must match.

Filling the circle

Non-standard ways to fill the circle

  1. In order to fill the circle in diameter using the isothreading technique, as in the photo, there are two ways: connect all the diametrically opposite points of the circle or connect each of the points with the center;
  2. The method of uneven filling is not for beginner needlewomen, but having understood the essence and having studied the photo, you can easily learn this. Filling one side more densely and the other less often is possible by changing the distances between points on the circle. The main thing is to keep the symmetry. Wool embroidery will be an excellent training panel in this case. You may have to train more than once. Thus, you can get rid of stale yarn residues;
  3. A semicircle and a spiral imply embroidering part of a circle. In this case, the embroidery starts from the break point 1H. Fill the middle of such a figure denser, and the edges less often. Fill the spiral element of isothread according to the same principle;
  4. You can fill it with a grid by stretching the thread strictly horizontally and vertically, connecting opposite points. The result of this isothread technique will be a grid with square cells;
  5. Draw an oval instead of a circle. The principle of embroidery using the isothread technique is exactly the same, and the visual effect will serve as the basis for the formation of various compositional variations.

triangles

  1. Embroidery begins with the construction of an isosceles triangle. Take a side length of 5 cm. At its top, draw the number 1 and the letter H. Mark the sides. As with the corner, the number of points on each side must be equal. There are 11 in the photo;
  2. The thread from the 1H mark is displayed at No. 16, with the withdrawal to the other side. Designate the direction of isothread embroidery. You must always move in one direction;
  3. From the inside, connect No. 16 and No. 17, leading to the face;
  4. On the front side, bring the thread to mark No. 2. From the inside, the thread is again brought to the face in No. 3. Thus, embroidery continues until the figure is completely filled.

Squares and rhombuses

There are a large number of different shapes, much more difficult to embroider using the isothread technique. In the photo below you can see the filling options for the most common geometric shapes and complex shapes. You will also find patterns for children and instructions on how to properly embroider them using the isothread technique.

Every mother knows perfectly well that the full development of her crumbs is a priority. You can train fine motor skills, perseverance, develop imagination and accuracy with the help of applied art. Embroidery on cardboard, thread weaving - all this has a common name - isothread. You will find her schemes with numbers for children in today's article.

Learning the basics of filament graphics

What needlewomen do not come up with, trying to surprise with their skills and originality. So, in recent years, isothread has become very popular. Pictures with diagrams can be found without much effort on the global network, but before you start creating a masterpiece, you need to master the technique of embroidering on paper.

Isothreading is an ancient form of art that has been forgotten over time, but today craftswomen are happy to revive traditions. Embroidery with threads on paper allows you to create real masterpieces - three-dimensional paintings.

Mothers who care about the development of their babies try to teach their children to thread weaving at the age of 5-6 years. This practice allows you to develop fine motor skills, and not only. The kid will learn to fantasize, become neat, assiduous, and be able to show his talent.

You already have a general idea of the isothread technique. Before we look at diagrams for beginners and pictures with numbers in stages, let's study the main aspects of modeling crafts in this style:

  • The basis of embroidery is thick cardboard or other paper of appropriate thickness. Some needlewomen use boards.
  • You can choose any threads, the main thing is that they are strong and elastic.
  • For children, you need to select soft, bending needles so that the baby does not get hurt during work.
  • As you know, the threads tend to pile. To avoid this, it is enough to rub the thread with wax.
  • To make the picture homogeneous and openwork, a minimum distance must be made between the points.
  • The child can number the puncture sites. It is easy to do it yourself. It is important to know the rules for numbering.
  • Almost any masterpiece created in the isothread style is based on three main pillars - filling in the corners various kinds, arcs and circles.
  • The drawing must be transferred using carbon paper to the wrong side of the base. First, make punctures in accordance with the numbering.
  • If you use a base that is too dense, punctures are made with a large needle, the tip of which must be heated over a fire.
  • We fix the threads on the wrong side with clerical glue.
  • For isothreads, you can use small carnations. But this method of embroidery is best practiced at an older age, since the baby can get hurt.

We study the technique of isothi together with the baby

As already mentioned, embroidery on paper is based on several methods. Before you start creating full-fledged paintings, hone your skills on individual simple elements.

Basically, the following methods of thread graphics are used in practice:

  • contour;

  • solid;

  • volume;

  • combined.

You need to start with small pictures and only after your child has fully mastered the technique of embroidering corners, circles and arcs. If the kid can't count, it doesn't matter. Help him with your tips. Just specify where you want to direct the thread.

To captivate the baby with such an activity, you need to choose interesting pictures, for example, let the boy embroider a boat, and the girl - a butterfly or a flower. Also use multi-colored threads. The play of colors will not only attract the child, but also allow him to show his imagination and creative thinking to the fullest.

Create a masterpiece in isothread style

If you have already learned the basic ways to embroider in the isothread style, then you will need patterns for beginners. You can make pictures with numbers step by step for children yourself or use ready-made templates. Try to embroider a snowman with your child.

You can also embroider the original cockerel. To do this, you just need to learn how to finish the contour and fill the circles with threads.

If you are new to this business, try to make a beautiful, but at the same time very simple picture. Let's embroider colorful balloons floating in the sky together.

When choosing a pattern, keep in mind that isothread technique better geometric compositions.

The drawing is done by hand or using carbon paper. In this case, on the front side, the picture is obtained in a mirror image.

AT izonity technique has only two main techniques:

Corner filling;

Filling the circle.

3. Practice:

corner filling: Corners are sharp, straight and obtuse. In accordance with this, the pattern of threads stretched on the corner also changes. But the principle of thread tension at the corners is the same.

1. Draw any corner on the wrong side of the cardboard.

2. Divide each side of the corner with dots into equal parts. The number of points on one and the other side of the corner should be the same.

3. Pierce holes at the points. The top of the corner is not pierced!

4. Insert the needle from the wrong side to the front, to the point of one side farthest from the top of the corner (pic 1).

5. Make a long broach and connect this point with the point closest to the top of the other side of the corner, through it bring the needle to the wrong side (pic 1).

6. Make a short broach on the wrong side, sticking the needle to the nearest point to the one where the thread comes out on the same side of the corner (pic 1).

7. On the front side, make a long broach, which should cross the previous one and connect the opposite sides of the corner (pic 1).

8. Continue working until the entire corner is filled (pic 2). On the wrong side, only dotted lines are obtained.

Filling the circle:

1. On the wrong side of the work, draw a circle and divide it with dots into equal parts. The number of points must be even.

2. Make punctures in all received points.

3. Select the length of the chords that will fill the circle. The longer the chord, the smaller the central, unfilled circle.

4. Bring the thread from the wrong side to the front and make a long broach, connecting the two points. Bring the thread to the wrong side (pic 1).

5. In a clockwise direction, prick the needle at the nearest point on the circle to the one from which the thread comes out. Bring the thread to the front side (pic 1).

6. Continue the long chord so that it intersects the previous one, etc. (pic 2).

When the circle is full, 2 rays come out of it (fig 3). Short stitches on wrong side (pic 4). Circles may be partially filled. If the circle is divided by a chord in half, then one ray will come out of each division point (fig 5).

This year, the guys and I decided to master the Isothread technique. This work is very painstaking, but then what a beauty it turns out!

One way to develop creativity children: isothreading classes. The implementation of this method is described in detail in the manual.

Purpose: To acquaint educators and children with the technique of sinking. Isothreading promotes mental and aesthetic development, expands.

Isothreading is a technique reminiscent of embroidery. It consists in creating an artistic image by crossing colored threads on cardboard. Working.

I want to talk about gifts for March 8, for moms. This year we decided to make an unusual gift for our mothers, to embroider a picture for our mother. Paintings.

Embroidered paintings undoubtedly decorate the interior. But, if you don't know how to embroider, there is no time. No problem! A picture resembling embroidery is possible.

An amazing kind of decorative and applied art was invented by English weavers in the 17th century. Embroidery on cardboard quickly and simply with special threads, originally interwoven and laid in a specific pattern, is called isothread. Thread graphics classes bring up artistic taste, teach you to observe and draw conclusions, broaden your horizons.

With the help of graphic technique, isothreading is used to perform large decorative paintings, panels, postcards, ornaments, etc. It is quite easy to master thread graphics. The main thing is to carefully study the basics of embroidery and listen to the advice of the masters.

Learning to embroider on cardboard with threads: basic thread printing schemes

There are two basic schemes at work:

  • Corner filling.
  • Filling the circle.

Of course, it will not be easy for beginner needlewomen to create a large-scale canvas according to the scheme. But with experience, everything will work out. It is not in vain that the study of thread graphics is included in the school curriculum, studied at electives.

Necessary materials for practicing thread graphics:

Instruments:

  • Compass.

There are a lot of round bases in nitkography. The circle is the main element of the graphic technique of isothreading. Therefore, a convenient compass in the work is necessary.

  • A well-sharpened simple pencil.

It is useful for drawing an embroidery pattern on a solid base.

  • Transparent ruler 15cm and 30cm.
  • An awl and a sewing pin for piercing holes in a solid base.
  • A set of needles of different thicknesses.
  • Thimble.

It will be especially useful for beginners learning. After acquiring the initial skills, the thimble can be used at will.

  • Sharp scissors.

Threads should not fray when cut.

  • Item to protect the work surface.

Thread graphics are inconvenient to deal with on weight. It is easy to scratch with needles or an awl workplace. For protective purposes, you can adapt a piece of linoleum, a sheet of foam or a terry towel.

  • Scotch tape or PVA glue.

Useful for securing cut threads from the wrong side of the work.

  • Stationery clips.

Securely fasten the circuits to the base before piercing holes for work.

Choosing the basis for embroidery.

Dense colored cardboard is an ideal basis for practicing the isothreading technique. Choose uniform, dyed on both sides different color, material. Good density will not allow the base to break through from the tightened threads. And we will also have the opportunity to prick holes at a minimum distance from each other. This will help the embroidered picture to become more openwork and picturesque.

Works made on velvet paper look original. But keep in mind that to increase the density it is better to combine it with cardboard.

We select threads for work.

The quality of work depends on correctly selected threads. Depending on the composition, it can be a shiny or non-shiny material. When performed with twisted threads, the craft looks neater.

In thread graphics, they most often work with floss or iris. It is easy to work with this material. You just need to make sure that the threads do not fray.

Woolen thread is the worst for working in this technique. Work embroidered with wool looks dull and unattractive. But woolen threads indispensable for training when mastering the technique of isothreading. They are thick and difficult to tangle or tear.

For beginners, special symbols are applied to the diagrams.

  • Arabic numerals indicate the sequence of punching holes in the sketch.
  • Roman signs suggest how to apply stitches to the image different lengths. Stitch length is indicated by lines. The Roman numeral standing next to it tells the embroidery artist the sequence of stitches.
  • The arrows show the direction of movement during the execution of the element.
  • A dash on the inside of the sketch indicates the length of the stitch.

This technique is great for kids. Having understood the essence on one sample, it is easy to master the rest of the nuances.

Master class of dandelion embroidery using thread graphics technique

Materials for work:

  • Threads white color for fluffy dandelion heads.
  • Threads Green colour for leaves and stems.
  • Colored cardboard for the base. Spectacularly gray dandelions look on a black background. Blue or yellow cardstock will also work.
  • Scotch tape or glue to secure the ends of the threads.
  • Needle, scissors.

Procedure:

  • We embroider a head - a circle.

We draw a circle on cardboard with a compass, divide it into 16 equal parts. We punch holes, assign a serial number to each hole.

We thread the threads through the holes, as shown in the diagram.

Cut the threads to work middle length. Otherwise, the threads will be confused, unnecessary knots will form on them. It's annoying and interferes with work.

If trouble occurs, carefully pull the thread back, trying to unravel the knot.

Fasten the cut ends of the threads in time with glue or tape.

  • We embroider a leaf - a corner.

On the basis we draw an angle, divide it into equal parts. We number them and embroider them with threads in the directions indicated in the diagram.

Isothread can offer a lot of different topics. For schemes - the basics, ready-made templates - coloring pages are suitable. The procedure is simple:

  • Print the finished picture;
  • Divide each image element into dots;
  • number;
  • Embroider.

Schemes of paintings with numbers are difficult for beginners. It is better to send off the work in fragments, one by one.

We make a beautiful postcard "Butterfly" using the isothread technique

It is done with simple stitches that gradually fill the entire space of the sketch. Due to the multilayer imposition of crosses on each other, a beautiful openwork weaving is obtained.

The body and antennae are formed with straight stitches sewn in a straight line. Nice to get one greeting card For birthday.

Products created using the graphic technique of isothreading are the very “beauty that will save the world”. Let the practice of thread graphics bring you only joy and pleasure.
