Set from Drops: scarf-warmer, mittens and hat with a Norwegian pattern. Knitted hat with a Norwegian pattern Scarf with a Norwegian pattern knitting patterns

The dress has a fitted silhouette, knee-length or slightly lower, the neckline is round and of normal depth, finished with double trim. The sleeve length is just above the elbow. The middle part of the dress in the waist area, the bottom of the dress, the bottom of the sleeves and the neck trim are made with 1x1 elastic. The elastic band at the bottom of the dress has a decorative purpose. The fit of the dress is ensured by the side darts on the skirt and bodice of the dress, as well as by the elastic in the middle part of the dress. The main decorative element is jacquards.

As can be seen from the description, this dress has practically no design features, so we can easily use the basic drawing for a dress pattern with a set-in sleeve. You use your own drawing, but I will use my own and will not indicate the dimensions on it, since everyone has their own. Except, of course, those that define the shaped lines of the dress.

First, let’s define the shaped lines in the model’s drawing, so that we can then transfer them to the pattern

We determine the bottom line on the pattern in accordance with the desired length of the dress: to the knee or slightly below. We draw a new neckline line parallel to the back and front neckline at a distance equal to the width of the trim used to cover the neckline of the dress. In our model, it is approximately 2 cm. The width of the elastic at the waist, along the bottom of the dress and sleeves is approximately 10-13 cm. The width of the elastic at the hem of the dress is equal to 1/5 of the length of the skirt (from the waist to the bottom), so you need to decide for yourself with its width depending on your height and, accordingly, the length of the dress. The width of the elastic at the waist is equal to the width of the elastic at the hem. The location of the elastic depends on your body type and can be located half above the waistline, half below the waistline, or 1/3 above the waistline and 2/3 below the waistline. On the model, the top line of the elastic is, unfortunately, hard to see. The drawing shows the second option for the location of the elastic band.

Now we need to decide on the jacquard patterns. Their model uses 4 different patterns. You can use the ornaments I selected from the picture or others that you selected yourself. Calculate the number of rows that need to be knitted from the bottom elastic to the elastic at the waist line, and the number of rows from the top line of the waist elastic to the shoulder line. This is necessary in order to determine the number and location of jacquards. Draw the location of the ornaments on the drawing. The design of the front and back of the dress is ready.

On the sleeve drawing, we determine the bottom line in accordance with the desired sleeve length, the top line of the elastic - the width of the elastic on the sleeve is approximately equal to the width of the elastic at the bottom of the dress. We apply the ornaments used on the sleeve to the drawing. Pay attention to the location of the ornaments: the same ornaments should be at the same level from the line of stitching into the armhole of the sleeve, so that when sewing, the ornaments on the sleeve and front, on the sleeve and back will coincide.

Knit the front and back the same way. Start knitting with elastic at the bottom of the product on smaller needles. Having knitted the required number of rows, evenly reduce the loops to the required number of loops, knitting two stitches together. Continue knitting on larger needles using stockinette stitch, knitting patterns in accordance with the drawing. From the hip line, decrease loops on each side according to your calculations to the bottom line of the waist elastic. The elastic at the waist line is designed to replace the role of waist darts, so it should tighten the fabric. This effect will happen by itself if you simply continue knitting the waist elastic on the same number of stitches as the main fabric, but on smaller needles. After the waist elastic is knitted, continue knitting on thicker needles until the beginning of the armholes, making the necessary increases in accordance with your calculations. Decrease stitches according to your calculations, forming the armhole line and continue knitting until the neckline begins. At the front, the neckline will start earlier. After starting to knit the neckline, the right and left sides of the front and back are knitted separately according to their calculations for knitting the neckline for the back and front, respectively. Make sure that the jacquards are knitted symmetrically on the left and right sides of the front and back. Finish knitting by casting off the stitches along the shoulder line in 3-4 steps.
Start knitting the sleeve the same way, with elastic on smaller needles. Having knitted the required number of rows (10-13 cm), continue knitting the stockinette stitch on larger needles. Add loops evenly on both sides according to your calculations. Having reached the piping line, begin to form the piping of the sleeve, decreasing the required number of loops on each side according to calculation. Don't forget about the ornaments!

Make WTO details of the back, front and sleeves. Sew the front and back along the right shoulder line and finish the neckline with double binding. Sew the pieces along the left shoulder line. Sew the sleeves into the armholes. Lastly, use one seam to sew the side seam and the sleeve seam on one side and the other.

Knitted hat for a child (head circumference 45-48 cm, for ages from 1 year)

To knit such a hat with knitting needles, we will need:

70 grams of yellow yarn (50 grams = 100 m);
- approximately 30 grams of dark blue yarn (50 grams = 100 m);
- stocking needles No. 2 (5 pcs.)

Knitting description:

1. Cast on 144 loops with yellow thread and knit 32 circular rows with a 1 by 1 elastic band;

2. Then switch to knitting in stockinette stitch and knit 51 rows Norwegian pattern(see Figure 1);

4. Knit 3 rows of stockinette stitch;

5. Decrease: *7 LP, 2 together, 6 LP, 2 together*. Repeat * 8 times [= 120 loops];

6. Knit 2 rows of stockinette stitch;

7. Decrease: *6 LP, 2 together, 5 LP, 2 together*. Repeat * 8 times [= 104 loops];

8. Knit 2 rows of stockinette stitch;

9. Decrease: *1 LP, 2 together, 1 LP, 2 together, 1 LP, 2 together, 2 LP, 2 together*. Repeat * 8 times [= 72 loops];

10. Knit 2 rows of stockinette stitch;

11. Decrease: *1 LP, 2 together*. Repeat * 24 times [= 48 loops];

12. Decrease: *2 together*. Repeat * 24 times [= 24 loops]. Pull the remaining 24 loops;

13. For ears with ties: cast on 31 loops with yellow thread and knit with an elastic band 1 by 1 to the end of the row (remove the edge loop, knit the second loop facial, the third - purl, etc., the penultimate loop of the row should also turn out to be the front one). Knit 5 more rows in this way;

14. Starting from the 7th row, make decreases on both sides of the ear. To form a neat braid from knit stitches around the ear, knit as follows:

In the front row, knit the 2nd and 3rd loops together with a knit loop, swap the last two before the edge loop and knit together with a knit loop;
- in the purl row - swap the 2nd and 3rd loops and knit together with a purl loop, the last two before the edge loop also swap places and knit together with a purl loop;

15. Continue knitting in the manner described above until there are 5 loops left on the knitting needles, which are then knit with an elastic band to the required length of the tie (approximately 30 cm).
Then in the penultimate row, knit together 1 and 2 loops, as well as 4 and 5; in the last row, knit the remaining 3 loops together;

16. Tie the second eye and sew them to the hat;

16. Make a pompom with a diameter of 9 cm from dark blue yarn:

Advice. How to make a beautiful and even pompom:

To make a pompom, you will need 2 pieces of thick cardboard measuring 10.5 cm in diameter (the diameter of the inner circle is 3.5 cm). In these blanks, it is very important that they are made of thick cardboard (plastic can be used), since otherwise they will be deformed during the winding process.
- We lay a thread (30-40 cm) between the cardboard blanks, the ends of which are brought out. It is better to use 2-3 such threads, since when tightening the pompom, the thread may break later.
- Next, we wrap the blanks with yarn, while trying to lay each turn of thread parallel to the previous one and close to each other. This is also very important, because if you leave gaps between the threads or wind them not parallel, then after cutting and pulling they will turn out to be of different lengths and will stick out. Don't skimp on yarn for the pom pom, but at the same time, don't overdo it!
- It is best to cut the pompom by placing it on the edge of the table and pressing it on top with your left hand. It is necessary to press so that the cut threads do not move. It is better to cut with sharp thin scissors - manicure scissors are very suitable for this.
- When the pompom is cut, carefully hold the threads and tighten the central thread. It is best to ask someone to help - one holds the cut threads, and the other tightens and knots the central thread. You need to tighten and tie it very tightly. I recommend tying each of the 3 central threads separately.
- The pompom is almost ready! The finishing touches are to shake it thoroughly (as fur collars are shaken) so that the threads take the desired position. If there are long tails left, they must be carefully trimmed with sharp scissors.

17. Sew a pompom onto the top of the hat.

Sweaters with a Norwegian pattern never go out of style.

Warm For decades, it has been at the top of the list of must-have items for the winter season. Sweaters with traditional jacquard patterns evoke thoughts of snow-covered Norwegian valleys and cozy houses filled with the aroma of mulled wine just removed from the fire. If initially received recognition male sweater, today sketchy patterns are also a decoration for women’s wardrobes. This can be both clothing (sweaters or dresses) and accessories (scarf, belt, leg warmers, mittens or headbands). Patterns characteristic of Norwegian handicrafts remind of the frosty breath of winter and give a New Year's mood and a feeling of celebration. In such a sweater, a New Year's fairy tale can become reality. The unexplored symbolism of sketchy stars, snowflakes, diamonds, deer jumping over snow drifts, really brings back to childhood, at a time when sweets, fun and Christmas miracles were the most anticipated events in the lives of all children.

A little history

Authentic Norwegian patterns were first knitted by craftswomen in the Setesdal Valley. There were no diagrams or descriptions. In the process of knitting, women invented patterns and the most successful of them were taken into account, supplemented and transformed. That is why each product was unique. These sweaters were especially durable because they were knitted in the round - without seams.

Now this pattern is difficult to confuse with something, as it has become famous throughout the world

The most characteristic of Norway were geometric, plant and animal patterns. Initially, sweaters were black and white, as they were knitted from undyed yarn. And only later did a play on the contrast of warm tones (red, brown, burgundy, yellow) and cold blue and gray appear, which also made it possible to recreate elements of folklore.

The release of the film Sun Valley Serenade in the 1950s drew attention to the distinctive sweater design of the main character, John Payne. Men quickly adopted the movie style, wearing jacquard sweaters everywhere.

The popularity of original sweaters began to increase under the influence of the emergence of a fashion trend in the 60-70s - unisex . Since that time, fairy-tale patterns began to decorate not only male sweater, and women's clothes.

This pattern is truly universal.

The development of skiing in the 20th century also contributed to the popularization of Norwegian sweaters. Authentic sweaters have become the basis of sporty style. Ski resorts began to be full of ethnic patterns and contrasting colors, characteristic of Norwegian motifs.

Surprisingly, this pattern looks masculine on a man

Fashion with Scandinavian motifs

Scandinavian themes have taken over the world's catwalks. Today, the Norwegian pattern is associated not only with mass market brands, but also with the world's leading fashion houses. The simplicity of rhombuses and stars is presented in the youth collections of Zara, Bershka, Marks & Spencer. From year to year, Dolche&Gabbana and Moshino present winter collections with Norwegian motifs. These are tunics, voluminous scarves, hats, ski jackets.

Simplicity and originality of patterns have become the basis of modern urban style . These items are in demand for holidays in the mountains, winter picnics, walks along snowy streets and, of course, stylized photo shoots.

Knitting technique

For Norwegian patterns, you need to master the jacquard knitting technique. This technique involves knitting with two threads of contrasting tones of selected patterns.

Learning jacquard knitting techniques

In order to knit Norwegian patterns with knitting needles, we will learn how to introduce an additional thread into the fabric . The thread can be inserted at the beginning of the row. To do this, the 1st loop is picked up with the right knitting needle, followed by yarn over with a contrasting thread. The loop is knitted according to the repeat with the main thread. The next 2 loops are knitted with a double contrasting thread. The short end of the inserted thread, like the main thread, remains behind the fabric.In the middle of the row, the thread is inserted in the same way as at the beginning.

Learning to introduce an additional thread

Norwegian knitting patterns can be transferred to canvas in several ways:

  • 1st option. The rapport cell corresponds to two rows of the ornament. This execution is characterized by an elongated motif. This implies a change in color on the front side.
  • 2nd option. The report cell is one row. This involves changing threads on both the front and back sides.
  • 3rd option. Creating a textured ornament. Concavity is obtained by knitting the main ornament in garter stitch against the background of the stocking. Convexity can be achieved by knitting the ornament with stockinette stitch against the backdrop of purl stitches.
  • 4th option. Working with two colors: background and main. Knitting on two knitting needles means taking the report cell for two rows. Circular - a cell equals one row.

Making a smooth canvas with a Norwegian pattern

Norwegian knitting patterns knitted according to patterns that you can prepare yourself. To do this, the drawing is presented schematically in cells, each of which corresponds to one or two rows. When using ready-made repeats, remember that the loops of the first row and edge loops are not taken into account in the repeat.
