We sew fleece hats for boys and girls. We sew a fashionable hat from knitwear We sew a hat with ears

At the beginning of spring or autumn, store shelves are bursting with knitted hats, but they are too hot at these times of the year. To make a headdress comfortable to wear in the off-season, it should be made of lighter material. Therefore, sewing can be an excellent way out of the situation. knitted hat V step by step lesson with your own hands, which will be very easy to do if you follow all the instructions in the lessons below. A sock hat will be an excellent addition to your wardrobe, because it is not only comfortable to wear, but also looks very stylish.

How to sew a warm knitted hat with your own hands in a master class

In order to sew a sock hat, you will need the following materials, which can easily be found in any sewing store:

  • a piece of knitted fabric 60x50 centimeters (two layers);
  • threads matching the color of the fabric;
  • stationery scissors;
  • pins.

In addition to this, of course, you need to have at your disposal sewing machine and pattern.

You can adjust the pattern to your size yourself in just a few minutes. To do this, you first need to take measurements from the head circumference and subtract 2-3 centimeters from the resulting figure. This is necessary so that the hat fits well on the head, because knitwear is a stretchy material and does not look good without a little tension.

Then you should use a centimeter to find out the distance between the crown and the forehead and add 5-10 centimeters to the resulting value. The larger the increase, the more the hat will subsequently hang. And, accordingly, vice versa: a smaller increase will lead to a tight-fitting hat.

After taking measurements, you need to draw a rectangle with beveled upper corners on a sheet of paper. The corners will become darts and side seams.

Let's look at the step-by-step process of sewing a hat with patterns

So, when all the materials, tools and pattern are collected, you can start working on the hat.

The first step is to lay out the folded fabric on the floor or table so that the front side of the knitwear remains inside, the fold is on the bottom edge, and the cuts are on the top and sides. Then you should fold the fabric in half again from left to right. The part on the left is the future front of the hat, and on the right part, accordingly, there will be a back seam.

The next step is to apply and secure with pins a pre-cut paper pattern to the fabric. After this, by eye adding a centimeter to the seam allowances to the outline of the pattern, you can cut out the fabric. If you can’t cut straight, you can draw an outline with soap or chalk and cut along it - this will greatly simplify the process for beginners.

Now you can unfold the fabric, leaving it folded in two layers.

After this, you should straighten the fabric completely and begin another folding: from left to right so that the front side still remains inside. Then you need to turn the pattern 90 degrees to the left and now secure the top edge with pins.

You can start processing back seam. Perfect option– use an overlocker or double needle, but in the absence of such modes on the machine, you can sew the seam with a simple zigzag. Next, you should process 2 seams from the front of the hat (top and bottom).

Then you should turn the future hat inside out, iron it and fold it in two layers so that the seams match, otherwise the top of the hat will look extremely sloppy. After which, having chosen the front side, you need to secure everything with pins or baste.

The final touch is machine stitching the top seam.

Now all that remains is to turn the hat inside out and wear it with pleasure!

We study detailed sewing of a knitted hat with cat ears

If you slightly change the pattern from the previous lesson, you can make an interesting children's hat with cat ears for a girl.

For such a hat you will also need a rectangular piece of fabric folded in half, which needs to be sewn on all sides, leaving a small hole through which to turn the hat inside out. Now you can start making the ears. To give them a more natural look, you need to form folds of centimeter depth from internal corner caps to its middle along the top edge. Then you should form other folds from the center of the hat, already in the middle of the ears. There is no need to touch the back surface of the ears; let them remain convex.

During the process, it is important to constantly try on the hat in order to adjust the ears until they are completely similar to those of a cat.

The hat with ears is ready! The child will definitely not remain indifferent to such an unusual thing.

Video selection on the topic of the article

For those who want to make a sock hat, but are not confident in their abilities, at the end of this article there is a selection of video tutorials on sewing hats of this model, which show the entire process of cutting and sewing in great detail. After watching these videos, you will definitely get the hat!

Thank you for your attention! Creative success!

If you like to sew headdresses of unusual and original models, then you will definitely like the shape of the helmet. This configuration of fleece is not very complicated; a person with any level of experience can sew it. Using a ready-made template, you can easily create your own design for a women's or children's model with additional decor.

Children's options

The most important advantage of this form of headdress is convenience and comfort while wearing. The child is reliably protected from cold and wind. A fleece hat pattern for a baby can consist of only two parts: a side element, which is made in duplicate, and a back part. The edging of the face is done in the form of a hem, but you can also use a separately cut strip. If you create some kind of original model, you will need additional details in the form of ears, eyes, etc. It’s easier, of course, to use ready-made pattern, but you can build everything according to the model or instructions yourself according to your own dimensions.

Women's options

The pattern for a fleece hat will differ from a children's one only in size. The principle of construction and sewing is the same. In addition, the adult version uses age-appropriate decor. The convenience and comfort of this wardrobe item is equally inherent in any size.

A spectacular item can be obtained by combining leather and fur. It’s easy to create a beautiful and unusual combination using fleece different shades, similar or contrasting. To do this, it makes sense to take a sample with a lot of detail.

Materials and tools

To make a neat pattern for a children's fleece hat, you will need the following:

  1. Thin paper (preferably graph paper).
  2. Pencil.
  3. Ruler.
  4. Eraser.
  5. Measurements taken.

In this case, you will work completely independently. If you are good with a computer, you can create a pattern in a specialized program. A very simple option is to take a ready-made template, print it in the required size and cut out the parts from paper.

Children's hat

Fleece is very good because it does not require processing of the edges, and, accordingly, is easy to cut and sew. A pattern for a children's fleece hat can be made using the template presented below. It is also suitable for other materials, for example, knitwear, from which it is good to make an “inner helmet” that is worn under the main hat. If you use stretchy material, then side detail hats, of which there should be two, can be cut out as one, so as not to make unnecessary fasteners on the neck.

As for the fleece, the rightmost piece needs to be cut in one copy, and the other two - in pairs, although the narrow strip of the face edging can be made of a single, but longer length. When you sew the side elements to the central one, it is good to decorate the hat with additional details that need to be sewn into the seam. This method is usually used to make the ears of various animals so that the hat resembles the head of a specific animal. This detail is easy to make simply in the form of a triangle. Accordingly, to make a pair of ears, you will need to cut out four pieces of the same color or two of different ones, for example, from dark brown fleece for the outer side of the ear and from light or pale pink for the inner side. For the convenience of further work, you can make blanks taking into account seam allowances.

Women's fleece hat: pattern

You can sew a headdress of this type in other ways. The meaning and shape of the hat remain the same, but the combination of elements changes. In this case, the upper part is formed from parts resembling petals. They make four or six. The ears are formed separately, and a wide edging is sewn around the head. The ears are easy to make and one piece with it.

(pattern from the illustration above) can also be decorated with additional details at your discretion. It’s easy to sew ears into the seams between the petals, as in the next photo. Ties made of the same material or a beautiful decorative button will look beautiful.

Like from fleece (pattern and instructions)

If you have never sewn or created patterns yourself, use the simplest idea from this section. Here both the headband and the details resembling petals are cut out in one piece, so fewer seams will need to be made. The ears are easy to make using the template from the previous section.

So, you will get a quick and simple fleece helmet. Pattern by easy method is made like this:

  1. Take a sheet of thin paper, the length of which is equal to the circumference of the head, and the width is equal to the height of the hat, plus take into account the fold if you plan to make it large.
  2. Fold a sheet of paper like an accordion so that you end up with the required number of layers, depending on the number of “petals” you choose for the top of the headdress. The example shows a variant with four elements.
  3. On the first layer towards you, draw a symmetrical detail of the “petal”, or, more precisely, its upper part.
  4. Cut out the outline and lay the sheet in front of you.

The pattern for a simple hat is ready. Also make ears for the helmet.

This hat is also quite easy to sew. You need to do the following:

  1. Cut out all the elements of the hat from fleece.
  2. Sew the petals together (only the tips, as in the last option, or entirely, as in the previous case).
  3. Make a hem of the edging (rim).
  4. Sew the ears and attach them to the headband.
  5. Make a fastener on the ears (sew a button, Velcro) or make ties from the same fabric.

If you decide to sew a model with additional decor (animal ears, horns, etc.), do not forget to make them and stitch them into the corresponding seam before stitching the “petal” parts together.

The model using the first pattern is even easier to complete. When you have prepared all the details of the fleece hat, you just need to sew two seams connecting the middle part with the side parts, sew on the face edging and make the fastener.

As you can see, the fleece hat pattern is easy to construct. If you don't want to waste time on preparatory work, take a ready-made template. If you show a little imagination, you can make different ones from one workpiece. original models. It is easy to sew from fleece on any piece.

Fleece is a material from which it is very convenient to sew not only toys, but also things. They turn out soft and warm. We invite you to learn how to sew step-by-step master class and recommendations).

Constructing a pattern

Before you sew anything, you need to create a pattern. You can print it or draw it yourself. The pattern for a regular hat consists of two elements: one domed and one rectangular.

To ensure that the hat is not small or, conversely, large, you need to measure your head. You can also attach your other hat to a sheet of paper and trace its outline. Then you need to correct the lines and make a pattern.

Dome-shaped part - rectangle main part - cap trim.

Sew a hat

Detailed master class on how to sew a fleece hat:

  1. The pattern for such a headdress consists of two parts, as described above.
  2. Buy two shades of fleece (such as black and pink).
  3. Attach the pattern to the fabric and cut out all the details, not forgetting to make small indents on all sides. As a result, you should end up with the following amount: one rectangle each in pink and black, four dome-shaped parts in pink and black. Remember that the rectangle pattern must be attached to the fabric folded in half. After all, its length is equal to half the circumference of the head.
  4. Place two pieces of matching colors together and sew them on one side.
  5. You have two halves of black and pink colors.
  6. Place the pink halves together and sew them together at the sides. Don't touch the bottom.
  7. Repeat the same with the black halves.
  8. Turn out the cap pieces.
  9. Fold the ends of the black rectangle and sew them together.
  10. Do the same with the pink rectangle.
  11. Attach to the bottom pink cap black rim from the rectangle and stitch them together.
  12. Sew together the black hat and pink headband.
  13. Turn the two pieces right side out.
  14. Place the hats together so that the seam of one headband touches the other. Sew them together along the edge
  15. Turn the hat inside out.
  16. Fold one half of the hat into the other and tuck it under.

Your DIY soft fleece hat is ready!

A fun fleece hat is ready!

Other options for children's hats

Instead of ears, you can make horns or dragon spikes. The pattern of the hats remains exactly the same, only the removable parts change.

To sew horns, draw an elongated triangle on paper, with the top slightly raised. Cut from fleece white four such parts and sew them together in pairs. Then turn out the horns and fill them with any filler (for example, padding polyester, holofiber, and so on). Sew the horns to the hat. To make your headdress look like a Viking helmet, use brown or gray fleece.

And to turn into a dinosaur or a dragon, sew your child a green hat and make spikes. To do this, cut twelve triangles from white fabric. Sew them in pairs and fill them with padding polyester or other filler. Place the spikes on the hat. They should divide it in half and resemble a mohawk. Alternatively, the spikes can be made with Velcro rather than sewn on.

Hat with ear flaps

A headdress made of such material can be fashionable, warm and beautiful at the same time.

And now detailed description. How to sew a fleece hat:

  1. Make a paper pattern for the hat and ears, attach it to the fabric folded in half and trace it (Illustration 1).
  2. Attach it to fleece in a different shade and trace it too (Illustration 2).
  3. You should have two blue and white parts for the hat and four white ones for the ears (Illustration 3).
  4. Place two ear pieces together and sew them together (Illustration 4).
  5. Unfold the white part of the hat and place the ears on top (see illustration 5).
  6. Fold the right and left quarters of the cap (Illustration 6).
  7. Sew the first piece (Illustration 7).
  8. Fold the blue piece in the same way, but without adding the ears, and sew it together (illustrations 8 and 9).
  9. Place the blue piece on the white one and stitch them together along the edges, leaving holes at the bottom of the “ears” (illustrations 10 and 11).
  10. Turn the hat inside out.
  11. Place pieces of padding polyester inside the “ears” so that they warm better (Illustration 12).
  12. Sew up the holes.

All is ready! You can sew Velcro on the edges of the “ears” so that they do not fly apart.

Any mother wants her child to be dressed not only warmly, but also beautifully in cool weather. It’s easier for a mother who knows how to sew. For example, she can easily sew a hat for a child or a teenager herself.
Among the many models of similar hats, there is one very simple cut. Sews easily and quickly.
Let's look at the cut and sewing of a hat with ears in detail. For those who like to watch and listen to the voice, MK in video format is waiting for you at the end of the publication.
So, let's start sewing a children's hat with ears.

You will need:

1. A piece of material approx. length. 55 cm;
2. Threads matching the color;
3. Chalk/soap for marking;
4. Centimeter tape;
5. Ruler;
6. Pins;
7. Scissors;
8. Sewing machine;
9. Iron;
10. 30-40 minutes of free time.

What material is suitable for sewing a hat?

To prevent the hat from causing discomfort when worn, make it from stretchable material. Thin or medium-weight knitwear is perfect, for example, footer, ribana, children's knitwear, fleece, etc.

You can sew a hat from a suitable knitted T-shirt or a jumper that has served its intended purpose, if the child has grown up and the item is still in good condition. You can give a second life. Just pre-wash and iron.

Note: It is advisable to make a pattern, taking into account the stretch coefficient of the selected fabric. I'll tell you how below.

Hat pattern and required measurements

The model is very simple, so any child’s hat can serve as a pattern.

If it turns out that there are no hats of the required size, take two measurements:

Head circumference Og (1);
- Cap depth Gsh (2).

Please note that measurements are taken and recorded in the whole size, not in half, as often happens when taking other measurements from a figure.

What is the elongation coefficient for and how to find it

To draw a pattern taking into account the properties of the selected material and the size of the child, we determine the stretch coefficient of the fabric.

To do this, place marks on the canvas between a 10 cm section.

And stretch the material.

Record the resulting stretch value.

Let's say that from the original 10 cm the stretch was 2.5 cm = 12.5 cm.

Divide 10 by 12.5 = 0.8

0.8 - tensile coefficient for a given fabric.

IMPORTANT! We stretch without fanaticism. Remember - the harder you pull the fabric, the tighter the hat will fit and squeeze the child’s head. We don't need discomfort!

Multiply the resulting measurement of head circumference by 0.8

For example, Og - 56 x 0.8 = 44.8

Helpful information:
For more information on how to determine the elongation coefficient, see the video.

Draw a pattern and cut a hat with ears

On a piece of paper, draw a rectangle, with one side equal to 1/2 the measurement of the head circumference (taking into account the coefficient), and the other side equal to the measurement of 1/2 the depth of the cap.

Then round the corners as shown.

Note: If you are in doubt about the measurements and calculations, you can cut out the workpiece, try it on, make clarifications and cut it on the main fabric.

Hat pattern first:

Refined pattern

I specially divided it into sections so that the difference could be seen. I narrowed it a little at the top, it’s more comfortable and beautiful.

To make the hat pattern piece even on both sides:

First, trace the pattern in full size;
- Mark the middle of the part;
- Fold half of the pattern exactly along the line;
- Circle the outline of the other half;
- Cut out the pattern.

We will sew a hat with ears. Therefore, we cut out additional details.

Which animal do you like best - Cat, Teddy Bear, Fox, Wolf? We select and draw the “ears” of the desired animal. You will get an unusual “animal” hat. Can be decorated with suitable applique or embroidery.

My hat has cat ears. Meow…

The result is a hat pattern:

The base of the hat is 1 piece with a fold;

“Ears” - 4 parts.

Fold the material in two layers - the hat will be denser, warmer, and the seam will be hidden inside. Don't forget to mark the locations of the "ear" parts.

For a cap with a lapel, step back from the fold at the bottom by the desired amount, approximately 2.5 - 3.5 cm.

Looking ahead, I’ll show you a photo of the resulting hat.

If you change the design a little, it will suit even a teenager.

Next, we lay the main part of the pattern on the canvas, as shown, and outline it along the contours. In a mirror image we continue the contour of the part.

We outline the fold line. You can add a basting stitch.

After cutting, an oval-shaped workpiece is obtained.

Note: I use a self-disappearing marker for marking. Convenient tool. The drawn line disappears after a few hours. Typically, such markers or pencils are sold in “handicraft” stores or sewing equipment stores.

It lasts a long time - mine is 3 years old, it’s like new. The main thing is not to heat the markings, otherwise they will remain for a long time.

Sewing a hat

Sewing a hat is very simple:

Checking the evenness of the cutting;
- We fold the parts of the “ears” face to face, grind along the contour, turn them inside out;
- According to the markings, we lay out the parts of the “ears”, baste or pin them;

We chop off or baste the parts along the contour, leaving an open area for turning.
- We sew a line along the cuts on sewing machine or overlocker (if you have one).

In this case, I use a special needle with a rounded tip (so as not to tear the fibers) and an elastic stitch for knitwear. A zigzag stitch works well, and even a straight stitch if you set them to the smallest pitch possible.

After stitching the parts, carefully iron along the seam.
- Cut off excess allowances.
- We turn it inside out.

We sew up the open area by hand using blind stitches or using a sewing machine.
- By placing one part of the part into another, we form a cap.

The hat is ready. If there is any material left, make a scarf.

You can decorate the model with applique or paint the hat with special paints or markers.

The resulting model is demonstrated by my son Ivan.

Well, okay, mom, even though it’s a child’s hat, it’s a cool color...
