Returning to work after the New Year holidays. Possible transfer options

Both adults and children always look forward to the New Year holidays. This is due to the fact that it is during this winter period there is a special atmosphere. Only convinced skeptics deny that there is still a certain spirit of New Year and Christmas. However, adults also have their own reasons for waiting for the main thing. winter holiday– after all, the Russian state will provide them with the opportunity to once again feel like children studying at school and enjoy a long break from work. Considering that the schedule New Year holidays changes from year to year, it will be useful to know how we relax during the New Year holidays in 2017.

Official holidays for the New Year: dates

IN Russian Federation New Year and Christmas have long been legally considered official holidays, which are indicated in red on the calendar, you officially don’t have to go to work on these days. It's no secret that the New Year is invariably celebrated on the night from December 31 to January 1, and Christmas (for Orthodox Christians) on January 7.

On the very last day of the year, December 31, careful preparations for the holiday are underway in all homes. Housewives buy food, start cooking, tidying up, decorating their homes and Christmas trees. It is difficult to have time to do all this before that cherished moment when the clock strikes midnight and the New Year looks into every home. December 31, despite the fact that it is a pre-holiday day during which a lot of things need to be done, unfortunately, is not an official day off. According to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, pre-holiday days, if they fall on a working day, are reduced by one working hour. Unfortunately, sometimes this is not enough to get everything done, so many people prefer to prepare for the holiday in advance, as soon as they find a free minute.

In 2016, by chance, December 31st falls on a Saturday, when many people have a day off. But this does not exempt from work those whose work schedule is designed for 6 days, or those who have a shift work schedule. The government decree on how to relax during the New Year holidays in 2017 is usually approved and signed 100 days before the New Year. Therefore, you can already find information about how we relax during the New Year holidays in 2017.

As statistics show, a series of New Year's “vacations” for all Russians always lasts up to 10 days. Many people worry that if official holidays on which they do not have to go to work fall on an already day off (Saturday or Sunday), then their vacation will be shortened. But that’s why a resolution was passed on how we relax during the New Year holidays 2017, which provides for such cases and makes various transfers so that citizens do not feel deprived and can fully enjoy the wonderful time New Year's holidays. Also, in many cases, transfers are convenient because they can be adjusted to other major holidays, for example the May holidays, or February 23 and March 8.
In 2017, all transfers from the New Year holidays mostly take place on the May holidays.

So, let's see how we will relax during the New Year holidays in 2017 and analyze all the upcoming transfers.

31.12.2016 – a day off for working citizens on a five-day schedule. For those who work six days a week or whose shift falls on a weekend, the working day is reduced by one hour (exceptions include private enterprises, where working conditions on weekends and holidays are specified in the employment contract).

01.01.2017 - holiday, New Year. Since the holiday falls on a Sunday, this day is moved to 02/24/2017, which means that the holiday on February 23 will be one day longer.

02.01.2017-05.01.2017 – the period from Monday to Thursday inclusive is a sequence holidays, adding 4 more days to the weekend, when you can forget about work and spend time with your family, friends, or even go on a short trip.

06.01.2017
- this is a pre-holiday day, Christmas Eve before Christmas, a day off.

Jan. 7big celebration Christmas Day, officially a non-working day, day off. Since in 2017 Christmas also falls on a Saturday, a day off, it is moved to May 8, thereby giving citizens another day off dedicated to the holiday of the Great Victory in World War II - May 9.

08.01.2017 – falls on Sunday, a day off.

If we summarize all of the above, it turns out that citizens of the Russian Federation will begin their long New Year holidays on December 31, 2016. Return to work again and for school desks will be needed January 9, 2017. If we include in this series of holidays December 31, which will simply be a day off by chance, then it turns out that Russians are given as many as 9 days for rest. By the way, in 2016, Russians had one day more rest and their New Year holidays lasted for a decade.

Already official, the holidays will last from 12/31/2016 to 01/10/2017.

Attention! This New Year holiday schedule applies to most working citizens, however, those who work in the trade sector will need to go to work as early as 01/02/201. The list of exceptions also includes those workers who have a shift schedule.

Discussions about canceling the New Year holidays for Russians

A bill was submitted to the State Duma for consideration so that Russians could relax at any time of the year, instead of the approved New Year's weekend. The bill implies maintaining only January 1 as a legal holiday, and providing paid leave to workers for all subsequent 10 days. Citizens can use this paid leave of 10 days at any time of the year, regardless of the New Year holidays, and it is also added to the main leave. That is, Russian citizens will have the opportunity to take vacation twice. Also, such a mini-vacation can be taken as a supplement to the main vacation, thereby increasing its duration.

This decision is being considered due to the fact that it will have a positive impact on the country's economy. According to the authors of the bill, according to statistics, during the New Year holidays, when most enterprises are empty, the Russian economy suffers losses equal to 3 trillion Russian national currency.

For the past few years, January has been the shortest month in terms of the number of work shifts in the production calendar in Russia. If previously Russians went to work a couple of days after New Year's Eve, now the rest lasts more than a week. IN Lately Various news appeared about the fact that Duma deputies want to take away the January holidays and return to the previous order. We remind you how we relax on New Year and Christmas in 2018 - days off on January holidays according to the officially approved production calendar.

Weekend in January 2018: how we relax for the New Year holidays and Christmas

New Year and Christmas holidays for working Russians in 2017-2018 will last ten days: from December 30, 2017 to January 8, 2018.

The news about the approval of the production calendar for 2018 is surprising and remarkable in its own way - the media reported about this event at least three times during 2017. In the summer, the production calendar was drawn up, approved in early autumn, and officially approved in mid-autumn. In fact, we were told about the same thing three times, so those who regularly read latest news, do not miss the schedule of working days and weekends for 2018 by.

Those who constantly read the news did not miss the message that deputies of the State Duma, among the priority bills for the fall of 2017, were going to consider a plan to revise the list of holidays and weekends. And the new holiday reform was primarily supposed to affect the New Year holidays, which, according to the authors of the initiative, are unacceptably long.

Nothing more has been heard about the fate of the bill to significantly shorten the New Year holidays for working Russians, and it is unlikely to affect the coming New Year, even if passed. The above New Year's weekend dates for the coming new year are officially approved and will not have to be revised, like all the others.

In 2017-2018, the New Year holidays turned out to be ten days due to the fact that the last two days of 2017, which fortunately fell on Saturday and Sunday, were added to the standard eight days of rest from January 1 to 8: December 30 and 31.

The New Year and Christmas weekend in Russia is enshrined in the Labor Code, which states that in our country January 1-6, as well as January 8, are New Year holidays, and January 7 is Christmas. All these days are official non-working days.

Total Labor Code provides for 14 additional days off per year due to holidays. Eight of them occur in January.

It is curious that since two of the eight days of the New Year's weekend in 2018 fall on Saturday and Sunday, then, according to the existing rules, for these days the rule of moving the day off to another date applies. True, if usually the next Monday becomes a day off in such cases, then the January weekend is moved to other months of the year, so that it is convenient for establishing days off in connection with other public holidays. The government ordered two January weekends in such a way that one of them was postponed to March, the second to May.

New Year holidays, due to their duration, have become last years a great time for families to spend time together. Since school holidays also fall on the same dates, residents of Russia have a good opportunity to relax with the whole family, either by traveling during the holidays, or simply walking or spending time at home. New Year– the holiday is very family-oriented and, despite all its mass appeal, personal, far from any politics or ideology. We hope that State Duma deputies will not encroach on the established good order and will not cancel the long January holiday, which is so important for many of our compatriots.

The New Year is always a time of hope for a better future soon. And although, of course, these hopes are not always justified, Russians, as in childhood, continue to remain optimistic and believe that with the change of year their lives will change. Happy New Year holidays and Merry Christmas to you!

How to relax during the New Year holidays

According to tradition, the New Year will begin with New Year's weekend on December 31. The official ones will last 9 days - from December 31 to January 8. Postponing the New Year's weekend is a very reasonable action. Due to the fact that some holidays fall on weekends, the Ministry of Labor decided to add an additional day off in February (24th), at the expense of January 1st (Sunday).

Everyone who works five days a week will be able to start preparing for the holiday from the very morning, December 31st: buying clothes, gifts, food, decorating the Christmas tree and, of course, setting the table.

  • January 14 (Saturday) – Circumcision of the Lord
  • January 18 (Wednesday) - Epiphany Christmas Eve
  • January 19 (Thursday) - Epiphany of the Lord.

Description of holidays

The main holiday of all times is New Year. In 2017, it falls on Sunday, so Russians will be able to start preparing for it on Saturday, and some on Friday. This winter celebration is the brightest, most cheerful and long-awaited, which is loved by both adults and children. IN New Year's Eve real miracles happen, inexplicable by scientific facts.

Christmas is another holiday in January, which is also a national holiday. This was done in order not to hurt the feelings of people professing another religion. It was on this day that Jesus Christ was born in a barn, among sheep and cows.

Two weeks after the New Year, a rather unusual celebration begins - the Old New Year. The whole country celebrates it on the same scale as the New Year itself. True, at the end of the holiday, people dismantle the tree, thereby ending the series of New Year holidays.

Circumcision of the Lord - religious holiday, which symbolizes that on the eighth day after the birth of Jesus Christ, he was circumcised.

Another important holiday for Orthodox people is Epiphany. This incredibly bright day has been honored and remembered for a long time. Every self-respecting Christian tries to go to church on holiday and defend the service. It was on this day that Jesus Christ was baptized on the Jordan River by John the Baptist.

The main tradition of Epiphany is the blessing of water and swimming in an ice hole. It is believed that after water procedures the human body is filled with health, and the soul is cleansed of bad thoughts.

Another holiday that should not be forgotten is Tatiana’s Day. Also, January 25 is still familiar to all university students as Student's Day. This is due to the fact that Titiana of Rome (Great Martyr Tatiana) was the patroness of students.

The mentioned celebration was established by Empress Elizabeth at the request of Shuvalov in honor of the opening of Moscow University, which to this day is considered a symbol of education and enlightenment.

* Pre-holiday days, on which work hours are reduced by one hour.

Annually on the last Saturday of March environmental action is being carried out all over the world" Earth Hour", organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The meaning of the action is in voluntary cessation of consumption electrical energy for one hour. Thus, society realizes the importance of taking measures to reduce the negative impact of human activity on the environment.

This great idea was first implemented in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Then about two million residents of the metropolis took part in the action, and energy savings amounted to about 10%.

Inspired by the example, more and more cities began to join the Earth Hour campaign every year. It is expected that in 2020, residents of more than 7 thousand settlements on our planet (more than 2 billion people) will take part in a voluntary power outage for 1 hour. Of course, among the countries participating in the action is Russia.

What date and time does the Earth Hour 2020 campaign take place:

As we wrote above, the event is held annually on the last Saturday of March, with the exception of those years when the last Saturday in March precedes Easter.

This year's Earth Hour is scheduled for Saturday. March 28, 2020. The promotion will begin at 20:30 local time and will last for an hour, until 21:30.

That is, the Earth Hour 2020 campaign - what date is it held and at what time:
* Date: March 28, 2020
* from 20:30 to 21:30 local time.
