What is felt?

Felt- (from the French feutre - felt), material obtained by felting fluff ( thin hair) rabbit, hare, fur waste from valuable breeds of fur-bearing animals, as well as sheep wool. Felt (noble felt) is a non-woven material that can be treated like fabric (cut, sewn) and like paper (glued). In addition, felt has no face or back; when cutting out parts along the edge, no fringe is formed.
Safety precautions when working with scissors:
Store scissors in a case and out of the reach of children.
Do not leave the scissor blades open while working.
Pass the scissors with the closed blades rings forward.
Safety precautions when working with needles and pins:
Carry out work using a thimble.
Store needles and pins in a certain place (special box, pad, etc.), do not leave them in the workplace, and under no circumstances take needles or pins into your mouth or pin them on clothes.
Do not use a rusty needle for sewing.
Attach the patterns to the fabric with the sharp ends of the pins facing away from you.
Store scissors in a case and, after finishing work, put them in a place inaccessible to small children.
Collect pieces of broken needles or pins and put them in a specific place, and then dispose of them.

Stages of work:

Children's theater- finger, implies familiarity with fiction, the basics of stagecraft, plastic arts and much more. All this helps to broaden the child’s horizons, enrich the child’s speech, develop emotionality, communication skills, curiosity, and awaken interest in creativity. And if you decide to make finger theater with your own hands together with the child, then to all this you can add such qualities as love of work, development of perseverance and concentration.
For my MK I used thin felt.
In order to sew such a wonderful lamb, you need a template (shown on a checkered sheet, size A5).

You won't hear a word
You are from a little sheep.
For any question you have
He will only stubbornly say: “Bee-e-e.”

1. We take a template, cut out the details of the sheep, two parts each for the body, muzzle, bangs (ears - 4 parts, tail - one part).

2. Then we connect between consists of two parts of the head - a “loop seam”,
bangs - “oblique overlock stitches”,
two pairs of ears - “running stitch”,

3. Making the face: outline the nose, eyes;

4. For the eyes I took black beads, sew on the “eyes” and nose (from scraps);

5. Our face, ears, and bangs are ready!

We take the front part of the body and place the finished parts on it;

6. We attach them to the main part,

We decorate the sheep - sew a bell on its neck! (this decoration is from old shoes - we don’t throw anything away!)

7. Take the second back part of the body, we outline the place where the tail will be located;

8. Attach the tail to the back of the body!

9. Next, carefully place the front part on the back, connecting the edges (I remind you that both parts of the body are ready for joining), and chop with needles;

10. We connect the parts of the body with each other using oblique stitches (from the left leg along the circumference of the body to the right leg, leaving a hole)

Felt sheep

I was looking for a craft for a kindergarten for a long time, and decided to make a felt sheep for the Christmas tree. It turned out quite quickly and economically))

This is what I got:

Details under the cut

I'll copy the master class here:

We redraw the sheep pattern from felt onto a sheet of paper, attaching it to the computer screen (the size is pre-adjusted in MSWord).

For ease of use, copy the pattern onto thin cardboard and cut out the parts clearly along the contour.

We cut out from white felt body and forelock - 2 parts each. From flesh-colored felt there are 2 parts for the head and 2 ears; on the red material we draw hearts - 2 small and 1 large.

We cut out the parts very carefully, it is advisable that the entire outline drawn with a pen remains on the scraps. The toy will not turn inside out after stitching, so the absence of paste marks plays a big role.

By the way, if you intend to decorate the Christmas tree in an original way this year, then a DIY snowflake for the New Year will be an excellent companion for our toy sheep.

First of all, we sew on the trim: fasten the large heart with decorative stitches to the bottom, small hearts to the ears.

On one of the parts of the head, we make 3 stitches with black thread, imitating the face of a felt sheep.

We apply 2 parts of the body evenly to each other and sew them together with a loop seam, starting approximately from the middle.

Without sewing the seam to the end and without breaking the thread, we begin to fill the body with pre-fluffed padding polyester. It is convenient to distribute the stuffing evenly throughout the figure using the tips of scissors or a stick.

We insert a ribbon between the parts so that the felt sheep can be conveniently hung on the Christmas tree, and we sew up the hole left for stuffing until the end.

In the same way we sew and stuff the head and forelock.

Sew the ears and forelock to the head.

We sew the head with a hidden seam in the middle of the body.

We glue the eyes with super glue. It is advisable to apply the glue with a toothpick so that excess does not leak out from under the eyes and spoil the face.

We lay the ends of the lace with the bell behind each other and sew it to the body.

To make the sheep look more festive and elegant, you can glue small rhinestones onto the hearts.

And paint on the cheeks with blush or dry pastel.

That’s it, this hand-made felt sheep is ready to take pride of place on the New Year’s tree.

Thank you very much to the author for the most detailed MK!!!

Did you know that you can make wonderful soft animals from felt? These crafts are tactile and a lot of fun. We invite you to master sewing from felt fabric using the example of making a lamb.

How to make a lamb from felt - master class

To work, you will need felt in three colors: white, light and dark brown, as well as threads in the corresponding shades. Prepare necessary materials, and then take care of the pattern. Its template involves cutting out the following elements from paper or cardboard: the head, “hairstyle,” ears, body, hooves, nose and tail of the lamb. The size of the parts depends on the desired dimensions of the future felt toy.

Performance:

  1. So, we cut out the listed templates for the lamb from felt: there should be 4 parts for the ears, and 2 for everything else, and only 1 part is needed for the nose.
  2. Using your pattern, draw the outlines of these elements on the fabric and carefully cut them out. One of the main advantages of felt over other types of fabrics is that it does not fray. This is why felt toys are so easy to sew.
  3. Let's start with the design of the lamb's head. First, sew a nose to it (this will require only 2-3 stitches), and then embroider a smiling mouth. In principle, if you wish, you can also embroider the nose with thread.
  4. Place a little filler inside the head (it can be holofiber or padding polyester) and sew the part up to the end. Please note that felt toys are sewn on the front side, which means that all knots will be visible. Therefore, place the beginning and end of the seam where they will later be covered by other parts.
  5. Now you need to connect the head to the ears. Carefully sew them at the intersections, as shown in the photo. The seams should be at the back. At this stage, you can decorate the lamb with a ribbon bow and a miniature bell.
  6. Let's start making the body. Prepare two identical pieces of white felt.
  7. Sew them together using the same overlock stitch using white thread.
  8. Sew brown felt hooves to the lower parts of the legs.
  9. Now is the time to connect the finished parts of the product. Sew the lamb's head onto the body, threading the needle all the way through.

Handmade toys are becoming more and more in demand, as they are made from environmentally friendly items and are absolutely unique in their design, since the hand of each master is individual, and therefore the toy is exclusive. For example, even take an animal whose year will come to us next year, it will be the year 2015, the year of the Goat and Sheep eastern calendar. Of course, we begin preparing for the winter New Year and Christmas holidays in advance and begin choosing loved ones in advance. Mainly accepted on New Year give all sorts of trinkets with the animal whose year we are expecting. In our case, gifts in the form of figurines, piggy banks, candles, balls with a sheep and a goat are suitable. This is a must have for the 2015 meeting. This master class will help us sew a soft and fluffy sheep from felt, which can be given to both a child and an adult as a Christmas tree toy.

To sew a sheep we need the following:
Felt in light pink, hot pink, beige and brown colors;
A pair of small eyes for toys;
Narrow satin ribbon made of red satin with white polka dots;
Small golden bell;
Synthetic fluff approximately 5-6 grams;
Brown threads;
Black small beads;
Shiny half beads;
Lighter, pen, scissors;
Template drawing sheet;
White thread and needle;
Glue gun.

To begin with, the first step, of course, is to draw a template-sketch of our sheep, according to which we will cut out the pattern of the sheep. The pattern can be copied from a finished photograph (it is the size of a sheep half the size of your palm), the second option can be found ready-made pattern on the Internet, but again, it all depends on the desired size of the animal. In our case, the sheep is small, about half the size of a palm, so the pattern can be copied, printed and cut out. We cut out one example at a time, and then measure out the required number of blanks on the sheets.

We cut out two copies of the body, crest and large cheeks from light pink felt. From bright pink felt we cut out two sketches of small ears and small cheeks. We cut out four legs from brown felt, and two circles for the face and two tail figures from beige felt.

We take two circles, put them together, take a white thread with a needle and sew these two circles with a slip stitch in a circle, approximately when 2/3 has been sewn, we begin to insert synthetic fleece in bunches inside. Sew up the circle with filler completely.

We do the same with the rest of the parts, fill and sew the body, tail, legs. Don’t be afraid if the elements of the sheep are figured; everything is sewn together perfectly using a cast stitch. We place the ears on top of each other, fold them at the bottom and fasten them with thread, level them and get a full-fledged sheep’s ear.

On the eve of 2015 - cute fluffy sheep - theme New Year's souvenirs more relevant than ever. In particular, the symbol of the year is a universal gift, which you can easily do yourself. Any child, friend or girlfriend, employee, relative will definitely be happy with him. So, in this master class we will tell you how to sew a sheep from felt.

Tools and materials Time: 1.5 hours Difficulty: 3/10

  • scissors;
  • glue "Moment";
  • thread, needle.

A felt sheep as a souvenir will appeal to both children and adults.

You can also use this craft in the New Year's tree decor, wear it as a talisman, or attach it to a bag, a set of keys or a phone as a keychain, or hang it in the car.

Tools and materials:

  • felt fabric (it is best to take black and white) - for the head and torso;
  • lace or wool threads- for loops and paws;
  • any filler - cotton wool, foam rubber, etc.;
  • two black beads or beads - for the eyes;
  • scissors;
  • glue "Moment";
  • thread, needle.

Pattern of our sheep

1. Carefully cut out patterns from felt.

2. Connect the body and head of the future lamb.

3. Attach ears. Their ends need to be placed under the head.

4. To secure it, remove the head, bend the tips of the ears and coat them with glue - about 5 mm.

5. Now the crucial moment - carefully coat the head. It is important not to overdo it.

6. Glue the head, not forgetting to place it on the tips of the ears.

The result should be like this:

7. Then you need to bend each ear in turn and glue that place.

8. When the head is glued, we place blank eyelets made of fabric, and black beads on them. By moving the beaded pupils to different places, you can create any eye expression for your future felt sheep.

It's best to do it this way.

9. You need to be very careful when gluing the pupils onto the eyes: excess Momenta glue not only corrodes the beads, but also stains the fabric.
That's it, the eyes can be glued onto the head.

10. We outline the muzzle with white threads.

11. Sheep's feet can be crocheted or braided.

12. We fasten the parts of the body and sew them with a buttonhole stitch. At the same time, we leave places for attaching the legs and to fill the body with filler, and also leave room for the loop.

Actually, our cute little lamb is ready!

It can be used as a pincushion, keychain, bag or mobile phone, and also hang on the mirror in the car. And it will definitely bring you good luck all year long!

The second version of the sheep will be a little more difficult, since this work involves small details.

We will need:

  • copper wire 1.5 mm thick - for the body,
  • a fishing float or champagne cork for the head,
  • glue "Moment"
  • jute twine,
  • paper clips,
  • yarn - black and white.

First we twist the frame from copper wire and wrap it with wool yarn.
Then we make the head of the sheep. After this, we pierce the head with a body wire, the end of which must be bent and secured so that it does not turn. We make the legs from identical pieces of wire, attach the legs and wrap the neck and body of the sheep with twine.

Then we carefully wrap the black thread around the head. First of all, glue the tip of the thread to the place where the nose will be. Then carefully, in one layer, we wrap the head, coating the place where the thread passes with glue. We fix it in the middle. We do the same with the crown.

Then we wrap the legs: we unbend the loops at their ends, carefully coat the wire with glue and wrap it well again. Then we bend the ends of the wire again, coat everything with glue and make another layer of thread. When all the limbs are ready, coat the base of the body with glue.

The sheep's ears are ordinary paper clips, smeared with glue and wrapped with black thread. True, you will need to leave the small ends of the paper clips free. After all, their ears will be attached to the body. Now all that remains is to attach the ears to the head, liberally smearing the remaining tips with glue.

And finally, the most important thing is wool for the sheep. We make it like a pom-pom: we wrap a narrow piece of cardboard (about 1.5 cm wide) with white woolen thread, tighten one side with regular thread, cut the opposite side - we get nice bunches with which we cover the entire body.

That's it, this cute New Year's felt sheep is ready to delight your eyes!
