Hello, my dear!

This one is elegant women's jacket, related knitting needles with a wavy openwork pattern and published in this year's Sabrina magazine, immediately caught my attention. Wavy edge at the bottom of the jacket and on the sleeves, smooth V-neck, and the pattern itself is unusual and not boring.

For knitting women's jacket knitted recommended:

I knitted a sample of a wavy openwork pattern, which I called “Sunrise”, from semi-cotton yarn COTTON GOLD PLUS(200 m\100 g), its knitting density on needles No. 5 fully corresponds to that indicated in the magazine, so you can select desired color by following the link. 😉

KNITTING DENSITY: 18 stitches and 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

PATTERNS:

  1. Purl stitch;
  2. Wavy openwork pattern "Sunrise"(description below);
  3. Garter stitch.

Loops front and purl stitch are used only when making loop increases and decreases along the edge, which are not spent on the pattern.

Openwork pattern with knitting needles “Sunrise”

To knit a sample pattern, cast on a number of loops that is a multiple of 14 plus 2 edge loops, for example 30 (28+2).

Knitting back

For knitting the back women's jacket knitted No. 5, cast on 86 (114) loops and knit with a wavy openwork pattern “Sunrise”, at the same time decreasing for side bevels on both sides in every 20th (18th) row from the cast-on row 5 times, 1 loop each - there should remain on the knitting needles 76 (104) loops.

At a distance of 51.5 cm - 108 rows (47.5 cm - 100 rows) from the initial row we close on both sides for the armholes 1 time 3 loops, and then in each 2nd row - 3 times 1 loop each - on knitting needles 64 (92) loops.

At a distance of 69.5 cm - 146 rows from the beginning of work, we close off the middle 20 loops for the neck and finish both sides separately.

To round the neckline along the inner edge, bind off 5 stitches once in the next 2nd row.

At a distance of 71.5 cm - 150 rows from the start of work, we close off the remaining shoulder loops - 17 (31) loops each.

Knitting the left front

We cast on 44 (58) stitches on the knitting needles and knit with the “Sunrise” pattern. Along the right edge, as on the back, we make a side bevel - there should be 39 (53) loops left.

After 49.5 cm - 104 rows from the start of work on the left edge, we close 3 loops for the neck 1 time, then in every 2nd row 2 times 3 loops, 2 times 2 loops, then in every 4th row 3 times 1 loop each.

At the same time, we make an armhole along the right edge, as on the back. At a distance of 71.5 cm - 150 rows from the start of work, we close off the remaining shoulder loops - 17 (31) loops.

Knitting the right front

We knit the right front in the same way as the left, only in a mirror image.

Knitting sleeves

For each sleeve, we cast on 44 loops on the knitting needles and knit with the “Sunrise” pattern. At a distance of 14.5 cm - 30 rows from the start of work to bevel the sleeves on both sides, add 1 loop 1 time, then in every 4th row 13 times 1 loop (20 times 1 loop) according to the pattern - on knitting needles 72 ( 86) loops.

After 41 cm - 86 rows from the start of work for piping the sleeves on both sides, we close 4 (5) loops once, then in every 2nd row:

  • 2 times 3 loops,
  • 2 times 2 loops,
  • 2 times 3 loops,
  • 1 time 4 loops,
  • 1 time 5 loops,
  • For bigger size- 5 times 3 loops,
  • 1 time 4 loops,
  • 2 times 5 loops.

After 49.5 cm - 104 rows from the start of work, close off the remaining 14 (18) loops.

Product assembly

We make shoulder seams. For the neck strap, along the edge of the front and back neck, we cast on 118 stitches with knitting needles and, starting from the 1st purl row, knit 5 rows in garter stitch. Then bind off all the stitches as knit stitches.

For the fastener strips along the straight sides of the shelves, including the edges of the neck straps, we cast on 84 loops with knitting needles. Starting from the 1st purl row, knit 5 rows in garter stitch and bind off the stitches as knit stitches.

At the same time, in the bar of the right shelf in the 2nd row we make 6 holes for buttons: close 2 loops, and in the next row we pick them up again. We make the first hole for the button 6 stitches from the bottom edge, the remaining 5 holes are made at intervals of 12 loops.

We sew in the sleeves, sew the side seams and sleeve seams, and sew on the buttons.

Women's jacket knitting needles made with a wavy openwork pattern (and this will definitely happen if you follow the description)! 😉

I hope some of you, my dears, will like this jacket and knit it for yourself or someone close to you!
