DIY kanzashi ribbon of St. George. Flower from St. George's ribbon

In this master class we will make kanzashi decorations for the St. George ribbon. For work, you can use thinner ribbons or fabric, but it is more convenient to try and practice on wide satin ribbons.

To connect the parts we will use hot glue (you can stitch or use instant glue).

Option 1: Simple round petal kanzashi.

1. From satin ribbon Cut orange into squares. From these we will make 7-8 round petals.

2. Fold the square diagonally.

3. Then we bend the corners of the triangle to the top as shown in the photo.

4. It is more convenient (for a beginner) to do this one at a time.

5. First, seal one side over fire.

6. And then the second one in the same way.

7. This is how it should turn out.

8. Fold the resulting part in half, that is, with the corners back.

9. Cut off the corners.

10.Solder the lower sections separately.

Front and back views of the petal...

Make the required number of petals. For a flower you need 7-8 pieces. You can fold it the way I did it, or you can do it in any other way. I secure it with a hot glue gun.

We fix it with hot glue on a small circle of thick black felt so that the flower does not bend in the center, and attach any suitable decoration to the center.

We attach it to the St. George ribbon and attach the brooch base using hot glue.

Option 2: double round kanzashi petal.

Additionally you will need: sharp scissors, a candle, a small piece of black felt, a brooch base, a decoration for the center and George Ribbon.

To connect the parts we use hot glue (you can sew or use instant glue).

2. Fold them diagonally and place them on top of each other as shown in the photo. For convenience, you can use a needle.

3. Bend the side corners to the bottom corner (shown by arrows). It's more convenient to take turns.

4. First one.

5. Seal the seam on the candle.

6. Then do the same for the second one.

I seal the seams, it seems more convenient to me. If you are soldering only the corners, then pre-process the edges of the squares on the candle.

7. Fold the resulting part in half, that is, with the corners back. You can solder the base of the petal on the candle a little.

8. Cut off the corners.

9. Solder the lower sections separately.

Front and back views of the petal...

If you solder the lower sections together, you will get a different version of the petal, but, in my opinion, no less interesting.

We connect 7 petals together on a small circle of felt and decorate the middle.

We attach the St. George ribbon and the brooch base...

Option 3: Simple sharp kanzashi petal.

Materials: satin ribbon 4-5 cm wide.

1. Cut squares from satin ribbon. Let's start making sharp petals.

2. Fold the square diagonally.

3. Let's fold it again.

4. Connect the corners again.

5. We seal the base of the petal well.

6. Cut off the corner.

7. We process the cut on fire.

Front and back views of the petal...

In a similar way, we make the required number of petals of the desired color.

Option 4: Double sharp kanzashi petal.

Materials: satin ribbon 4-5 cm wide in two colors.

Additionally you will need: sharp scissors, a candle, a brooch base, any jewelry and a St. George ribbon.

1. Cut two squares of different colors from a satin ribbon.

2. Fold them diagonally and place them on top of each other as shown in the photo.

3. Attract each corner in turn to the opposite corner of the resulting figure.

4. This is what should happen.

5. Fold it towards the middle and seal the base of the petal well so that it does not fall apart.

6.Cut off the corner.

7. We process the cut on fire.

This is what the finished double petal looks like.

Make the required number of petals. You can fold it into a spikelet or in any other way. I secure it with a hot glue gun.

We fix it on the St. George's ribbon and attach the brooch base.

Option 5: Triple spicy kanzashi petal.

A triple kanzashi petal can be made in two ways: combining single and double petals or soldering each petal to the previous one in turn. In the second case, the petal will be smoother.

Or each petal separately...

We make the required number of petals, sew them together or assemble them using hot glue...

Brooches with Kanzashi flowers made of sharp petals

From the sharp petals of Kanzashi you can make a lot of elegant and original flowers for brooches on May 9th.

Three small petals connected to each other easily fit into the petals b O larger in size. Play with the contrasts of black and orange:

To do this you will need a satin ribbon of two colors, St. George's ribbon, decorative ornaments and accessories

We form sharp small and bigger size petals from orange ribbon. We collect smaller petals into a flower:

We make two triangles from black tape, put the larger triangle on the smaller one and form a petal in the likeness of a simple sharp petal. After soldering the ends of such petals, straighten the black corners in different directions.

We put black petals with carved edges into orange petals and fix them with glue:

You should get the following three-dimensional flower blanks:

St. George's ribbon with Kanzashi star

By experimenting with the St. George Ribbon, you can model jewelry of incredible beauty, which is in demand and popular today. For example, you can make a five-pointed star out of it! After all, the red star is a heraldic sign and is now one of the elements of the Banner of the Russian Armed Forces.

It is very easy to make an asterisk from the St. George ribbon using a soldering iron or lighter. To do this, make a piece of tape - 8 cm. Fold the tape in half and measure 2 cm from the top corner. Cut off the excess at an angle. The result should be a trapezoid with the following parameters: upper length – 4 cm, lower length – 8 cm.

You need to make 5 such blanks. We turn them inside out.

We solder all the elements together. Cover the wrong side of the star with another piece of tape. We make beautiful corners at the ends of this ribbon. Glue a decorative element to the front side of the star.

You can attach the star to your chest using a simple pin or clip glued to the back of the brooch.

You can learn more about creating such a star in Anna Bartoszyk’s master class.

Using the same principle, you can make such gold star brooches. Here, on the contrary, the wrong side of the golden brocade star becomes the front side. We cover the seams with a decorative element. The brooch turns out to be voluminous, because we connect a golden star with a star from the St. George ribbon.

The tip of the star can be made more pointed, and the angle at which you cut off the excess from the tape, forming a trapezoid, should be greater. A flat order is obtained due to the fact that the prepared elements are glued to the base.

The symbol of the Victory Day is the St. George ribbon. A beautiful three-color ribbon is usually worn on clothes and worn to festive parades and processions. Many people associate a ribbon with orange and black colors with May 9th and festive events. However, such a familiar accessory can be slightly diversified and designed in a completely unusual way. We offer to learn how you can easily and simply make a flower from a pre-prepared and purchased St. George ribbon for the festive parade with your own hands.

Making a flower from St. George's ribbon with your own hands: tips and tricks

We bring to your attention detailed master class on how to create a holiday symbol with your own hands. In the flower making option described below, the technique of weaving from satin ribbons “kanzashi” will be used. Thanks to an accessible description and demonstration with the help of visual photos of the process of making a winning accessory, you will be able to cope with this yourself.

To make a flower bud using the kanzashi technique, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • Rep ribbon with St. George's colors three centimeters wide;
  • Satin ribbons with a width of two and a half centimeters in black and orange colors;
  • Glue gun;
  • Sharp scissors;
  • Special tweezers;
  • Lighter or candle;
  • Black bead for decorating the core of the flower.

After preparing everything required material and tools, start making a flower from a pre-purchased St. George ribbon quickly and easily with your own hands.

Using sharp scissors, cut fifteen centimeters of ribbon. Then fold it at an acute angle, thus forming the basis for your future winning flower. To ensure that the piece of your ribbon does not crumble or crumble, you should use only very sharp scissors. After cutting through all the edges, you need to process them using a candle flame or lighter. Then your cuts will be strong and will not fall apart during the process of using the flower from St. George's ribbons.

Six segments of seven centimeters in length should be formed from the St. George rep ribbon. Now each of these individual elements must be bent in the center at a right angle. As a result of the manipulations, you will get an unusual triangular shape of a piece of tape. Then bend the workpiece again to form a shape with a sharp corner.

At the base of your petal you need to form two symmetrical folds. Now hold the bottom of your leaf with special tweezers and treat it with a candle flame or lighter. Heated and melted under the influence of a hot flame, the rep St. George's ribbon easily takes on the shape and outline necessary for the composition.

To construct the structure of your symbolic flower, you will need to form six petals with the same shape. These petals will form the bottom tier of your composition. Rep petals hold their shape perfectly and will not lose their properties even from strong wind or rain.

Now you can begin assembling the lower tier of your composition. Each individual element should be glued to the base. All these elements should form in the form of a six-pointed flower. Appearance Your flower made from St. George's ribbons will be better if the elements in the central part are not placed too tightly together. Leave a little space between the petals.

Make the same petals from a black satin ribbon. However, to form the elements, use pieces of six centimeters in length. Glue all the black blanks to the holes of the first tier.

Now form five elements from the orange satin ribbon. To form the petals, use pieces of five centimeters in length. Due to the fact that the length of the cuts of each color is gradually reduced, smaller petals are created. And in this case, when assembling the flower, all layers are visible.

The orange elements are glued in the shape of a star, that is, one petal will be directed upward, while the others look sideways in pairs.

Cut twenty-five centimeters from the St. George ribbon and create an element in the shape of a loop. Glue the previously created ribbon flower on top of it.

For comfortable fit and wear finished product you need to turn the work over and glue a brooch base or a large pin to the reverse side.

A selection of videos on the topic of the article

We bring to your attention a small selection of videos on the process of making flowers.

Before starting work you need to prepare:

  • - satin ribbon in blue, red and white shades, each at least 25 mm wide.
  • - scissors.
  • - thermo gun.
  • - the basis for the brooch.
  • - tweezers.
  • - St. George ribbon 2.5 cm wide.
  • - ruler.
  • - white half beads, 5 mm in diameter.
  • - lighter.
Making a brooch.
The decoration consists of two separate pieces, a spikelet and a loop. First you need to make a three-color spikelet. To do this, you will need satin ribbons in three shades: blue, white and red.
From these ribbons you should prepare segments, each 5.5 cm long. As a result, you will get 7 parts: 2 blue, 2 red and 3 white.

Now you need to make blanks from each segment. To do this, the rectangular part should be placed with the wrong side up and bent exactly in the center at an angle of 45 degrees.

You will get a small fold line, which also needs to be folded in half. As a result, the cut lines of this segment will connect at one point, and the part will turn out to be double with a pointed corner at the top.

Holding the combined sections with your fingers, they need to be folded into several small folds and held in this position with tweezers.

The edge of the tape must be cut a little with scissors to align it. Then the cut needs to be strongly scorched with fire in order to solder the layers of tape and secure the edge of the part in the desired position.

This turns out to be a petal for the future spikelet.

The same blanks should be created from each prepared segment.

Now the petals need to be connected in pairs with glue, in accordance with the color.

The remaining free one white petal needs to be attached between the parts of the same color glued together, but also on the wrong side.

All the parts are ready, you can connect the spikelet together. The red pair of parts needs to be combined with the blue pair, slightly overlapping the edges.

Then the blue petals need to be glued on top of the white parts.

The result is a spikelet of ribbons of three shades, corresponding color scheme Russian flag. The spikelet is ready, you need to put it aside. Now you will need a St. George ribbon 18.5 cm long.

The sections of this tape must be cut with a zigzag.

Then, both edges should be carefully singed, being careful not to deform the tape.

After this, stepping back 4 cm from the edge of the tape, you need to make a mark for further orientation.

Then the second edge of the St. George ribbon should be placed over this mark, crossing them.

At the intersection of the two edges of the tape, you need to place a little glue to secure their location. The result is a neat loop.

The St. George memorial ribbon is a popular attribute of May. Everyone associates this most blooming month of the year with the great Victory, with the gray hairs of humble veterans who did an invaluable feat for our and subsequent generations. To honor those who are still alive, to honor the memory of those who are no longer with us, we march in the Parade and take part in the Immortal Regiment event. And the St. George’s ribbon is a thin thread that unites people of the future and the past, entire generations.

This master class tells you how to make an elegant St. George ribbon with a hand-made kanzashi flower. The accessory will turn out beautiful and impressive. To decorate the brooch, you should prepare black and orange marshmallows and oval pointed petals.

To make a kanzashi brooch you will need:

  • 1 piece of St. George’s (black and orange) ribbon - 2.5 * 16 cm;
  • 8 pieces of St. George’s (black and orange) ribbon - 2.5 * 7 cm;
  • 8 pieces of orange satin ribbon - 5*5 cm;
  • 8 pieces of deep black satin ribbon - 5*5 cm;
  • black felt base – diameter 4 cm (to resemble St. George’s petals);
  • black felt base – diameter 3 cm (under the central black and orange marshmallow);
  • felt rectangle (for a pin);
  • hugger 2 cm – 1 element;
  • black half bead 1.4 cm – 1 element.

How to make a brooch for May 9 step by step:

The bottom layer of the flower will be made of pointed petals, the production of which will take a St. George (reps) ribbon measuring 2.5 cm by 7 cm. To make all the petals, you should prepare 8 identical cuts. Then singe them if necessary for neat work. Bend each strip at a right angle to mark the middle. Remember that rep is much denser than satin, but it is easier to work with.

Then bend the resulting angle diagonally, aligning the two processes, clearly joining the strips. You will end up with an acute-angled piece, with a pocket visible on one side. This side will become the back of the petal; turn the whole piece towards you. At the bottom of the petal, burn the rep ends and make folds. Striped petals are all made using this technique.

Take a longer St. George ribbon, but of the same width. The parameters of the segment are 2.5 cm by 16. Bend, but not at a right angle, but at an acute angle, to get the base of the brooch. Prepare a black felt circle bigger size. For the bottom layer of the flower, 8 striped rep petals should be ready.

Glue all the petals into a flower, using a felt circle as the base. Next, glue the resulting blank onto the large loop. The lower part of the brooch is ready.

Proceed to the second part of the work. To make a fancy marshmallow centerpiece, prepare 5cm orange and black satin squares. Fold the pieces diagonally.

Pin the black triangle to the orange one (align them neatly across the entire surface). In the resulting multilayer workpiece, bend two sharp corners. There should be a gap in the center.

Cut off the place in the combined tape where all the corners meet, retreating by about 0.5 cm. Then bend the remainder, making a fold clearly along the side corners. Bend the resulting triangle in height, aligning the sharp corners and splitting the central gap, revealing the black tape. Glue the corners with flame.

Prepare 8 identical bright tubes for marshmallows. And also at this stage you will need a hugger with a black half-bead.

Glue the marshmallow together and glue the core into the center. All parts are glued onto a small black felt circle.

Prepare a felt rectangle with a pin.
