Sew children's slippers with your own hands - patterns. DIY home slippers

In this master class I want to show how you can sew comfortable, soft, cute children's slippers. Children will be happy to wear these slippers in cool weather. The pattern is given for a 2 year old child.

The material used for the base was velsoft (you can replace it with fleece, insulated footer, and so on), and for the inside of the slippers I used regular knitwear. The sole is artificial suede, which will be insulated with batting.

We will need: two pieces of main fabric, two pieces of lining fabric.

On the sole: two parts made of faux suede, two parts made of batting, two parts made of knitwear.

For the ears we will need: four parts made of velsoft, four parts made of knitwear.

And two knitted pieces for the ponytails.

Let's start sewing with the ears. We take the ear pattern and transfer it to knitwear. Then we apply the knitwear to the velsoft with the right sides inward, secure it with pins and sew a stitch.

Trim the seam allowances and turn them inside out.

This is what you should get:

Take the top part of the base. Mark the line of the middle of the top edge.

We secure our ears to this middle with pins.

We take the lining, apply it to the base with right sides facing each other and secure with pins. Sew along the top edge. Don't forget to connect the lines in the middle of the top edge. We stitched and trimmed the seam allowances.

We take our future slippers, fold them in half with the right sides inward and grind the back part. Don't forget to trim the seam allowances.

Let's prepare the sole. We take the batting and apply an artificial suede sole to it.

Secure with pins and stitch along the edge.

Now let's take our future slippers. We secure the velsoft base and the artificial suede sole with pins.

We grind. Trim seam allowances.

We also do lining. Just don’t forget to leave a hole of about 5 cm. We will turn our slippers inside out through it.

We stitched, trimmed the seam allowances and turned our slipper inside out.

We sew the hole with a hidden seam.

We insert the inner part of the lining into the base.

Let's give our bunny some eyes. Mark the location of the eyes and sew on the beads. The eyes are ready.

For the nose, I took bright pink floss threads. I made a nose.

We made two pompoms for the ponytails. Sewed to slippers.

We received these wonderful children's slippers!

Nowadays, many people have problems with shoes, including house shoes. That is, people cannot buy comfortable slippers or slippers. But after work or study, your legs really need rest. So we asked ourselves: how to sew slippers.

And not just slippers, but original model. How to make slippers with your own hands in the shape of Mice and Dogs - see the master classes. In addition, here you will find patterns for slippers of any size, from 36 to 45.

Such original slippers, similar to mice, sewing is quick and easy. Before sewing slippers, let's look for material for them. What can you take as a sole: the tops of old felt boots or boots, leather from old bag, fabric from an old backpack or briefcase, suede or thick cloth.

Take an inventory of old things - and you will probably find something suitable for sewing slippers. Using the principle of our master class, you can sew both children's and adult slippers.

You can remove the “ears” or make them smaller and sharper - then it will no longer be a Mouse, but a Cat. Even a novice seamstress can sew such slippers. If you don’t have a sewing machine, sew on your hands using a “needle forward” stitch.

To work you will need:

  1. A piece of thick fabric (cloth, denim, felt, drape, corduroy, etc.).
  2. A piece of leather for the sole.
  3. Foam rubber or batting (you can cut padding polyester from an old jacket).
  4. Needle, nylon threads.
  5. Embroidery threads.
  6. Fleece or faux fur for the insoles and lining of slippers.
  7. Paper, pencil.
  8. Tailor's pins.

In order to sew slippers with your own hands, you need a pattern. To do this, we take our most comfortable and wide shoes or our child’s shoes, in this case, clogs, put the shoe on paper and trace the sole with a pencil.

Take a sheet of paper and wrap it over the shoe. Trace with a pencil and cut out the top part of the template.

So, we cut out: 2 blue pieces of cloth or fabric for the upper, 2 white pieces of fleece for the inside of the upper, 2 pieces of fleece for the insole, 2 pieces. for the sole, 4 blue parts for the ears (the option of ears to choose from is shown here - larger and smaller). Don't forget 0.7-1 cm - seam allowances. In addition to these parts, you need to cut out 2 parts from foam rubber for the sole.

We sew the ears - we sew them with small stitches using a contrasting thread.

Then we embroider the “muzzle” of the Mouse, cut out the nose from the fabric, and sew beads or buttons instead of eyes.

The ears need to be folded at the base as shown in the photo and sewn with several stitches. We place a white fleece piece on top of our structure face to face. Then both parts are sewn at a distance of 1 cm from the edge. We sewed the insole and upper together. Now you need to sew on the sole.

We sew and stitch along the edges, departing 0.7-1 cm from the cuts. We leave the bottom unstitched - we still need to insert foam rubber here.

Then, turn the slippers inside out. All that remains is to insert foam rubber or batting inside. To do this, we take our 2 parts, cut out of foam rubber using a stencil, and insert them inside the slippers.

Holding the foam rubber, we fasten the heel with pins and carefully sew together the remaining unstitched piece of the sole. Homemade slippers, sewn by yourself, are ready. If you like it, you can sew slippers with different ears: round ones like bears, long ones like bunnies, wide ones like dogs.

Slippers Doggies - MK

The second option for self-sewn slippers is Dog slippers. The pattern is suitable for sizes 35 and 37. When you cut the upper part of the shoe, pay attention to the width of the part (it seems to us that the width should be reduced by 1-2 cm). However, everything is very individual - many people like loose shoes.

In the diagram, size 35 is indicated in red, and size 37 is indicated in black; size 35 slippers have open toes. Do-it-yourself Dog slippers differ from previous slippers in that here the stitching goes along the top of the product.
For work we will need:

  1. Fabric for the insole (cotton, calico, flannel, etc.)
  2. Strip of fabric for finishing.
  3. Narrow ribbon for bows.
  4. Sintepon.
  5. Sole made of leather, faux leather, cloth, suede, etc.
  6. Paper, ruler, pencil.
  7. Scissors.
  8. Nylon threads and embroidery thread.

We will start the master class with making a stencil. On sheet A4, mark the pattern points and draw the parts of the required size. Let's cut out a stencil from paper. Place the stencil on the fabric, folding the fabric in half. We need 4 parts for the insoles. Please note - details vary.

You will get 2 parts of the left and 2 parts of the right slipper. And using the same template, we cut out 2 parts from padding polyester. We fold the blanks as in the photo, with a padding polyester in the middle.

We pin and sew by machine or by hand.

We sew the sole to the workpiece, retreating 0.5-0.7 cm from the edge.

We cut out 4 top parts according to the template. Fold it inside out. We shape the “nose” and sew in a circle at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge of the part.

We sew on the buttons for the eyes, and decorate the top edge with a strip of fabric.

We apply the finished top to the insole, pin it with pins and try it on the foot. If the depth of the top suits you, sew it in a circle at a distance of 0.5-0.7 cm.

We cut out the ears randomly - 4 identical parts. Sew in the round.

Sew the ears to both sides of the top. We embroider the mouth with colored thread.

The product is ready. You can decorate your ears with bows.

Ready-made slipper patterns for all sizes

Patterns for sizes 36 to 45, no need to add seam allowances.

Further words from the author
At the request of site visitors, I made a master class: patterning house slippers with my own hands. After all, you won’t always find the right size on the Internet, for example 45, believe me, it’s very simple and faster than searching for what you need on the Internet.

First, trace your foot on a piece of paper; it’s better to do it while standing, so that your foot is completely on the floor.

2.

Correct the pattern: straighten the outer side, connecting the heel and foot, leave a deflection on the inner side, because you will need to somehow distinguish between the left and right sneakers.

3.

Mark on the bottom piece where the top piece will end or begin. This is 1/3 of half a mortar.

4.

Next, place your foot on the circled foot and measure the length top part from the line, going around the height thumb. There is no need to make the top part too long; it will be uncomfortable to wear such slippers.

5.

Next, measure the width of the upper part from the marks to the left and right of the foot and add 2-3 cm, this depends on the density of the fabric; the thicker the fabric for the slippers, the greater this increase.

6.

Now adjusting the pattern. We have positions 3 and 4, this is the beginning of the top part. Positions 1 and 2 mark the widest points on the foot.

7.

Fold the foot pattern in half and draw this half on a new sheet of paper. Marking points 2 and 3 and the middle of the pattern.

8.

Turn over and place on the other side of the middle of the pattern, marking points 1 and 4

9.

Connect points 1 and 4 with a straight line, points 2 and 3 with a concave line - this is the inside of the sneaker.

10.

Cut out and trace the resulting pattern on a new sheet of paper. Fold the first option along the middle line. Mark point 3 or 4 with a cut out triangle - and make marks on the new lower part. From the toe, set aside the data from photo 4, connect point 4 and the set aside segment, mine is 13 cm. Cut it at an angle, we will only need the top piece, we can get rid of the bottom one.

11.

On a new sheet of paper, from the top point along the fold, mark the depth of the part, mine is 13. And from this point to the left, half the measured width of the foot from photo 5. Fold the top points, hold it with your finger and move it to the previously made mark for the width of the top part. Circle everything.

12.

Correct the upper part, set control points so that there are no distortions when connecting the upper and lower parts. Now the pattern of house slippers is ready, and how to sew slippers, see this article. Ugh, it's very difficult to describe these simple master classes. I hope everything is clear to you! I will be glad if you write about this in the comments under the article.

Here are a few options from the Internet for inspiration.
Cozy slippers to fit, dear needlewomen!

Felt slippers in half an hour

Today I will tell you how to quickly sew warm slippers from felt.

1.

To do this, you will need natural felt measuring approximately 60 x 60 cm, it is sold in construction stores and is used as insulation, you can sew such slippers from colored pressed felt for crafts, a good sewing machine, although it is quite possible to sew it manually with a blanket stitch, if you wish, then leather for the sole from abrasion.

2.

At the end of the article you will find a pattern (size 37 or 45 with seam allowances), my son, having a foot size of 42, sometimes wears such slippers with a sock, so this size does not bother him, I hope you do too. Print the pattern, taking into account that the top part on the pattern has a fold, it is better to cut it out separately already in unfolded form. Draw a pattern with a marker, marking the joints indicated by numbers. Place the parts together and using a thick needle and strong thread in the marked places, make several stitches over the edge so that the parts do not move when sewing. If you want reinforcement with leather, then a piece of leather must first be glued to the sole.

3.

Then join the parts manually or using a machine, moving 1 cm from the edge. When sewing, the upper part should be gathered a little for volume.

4.

Remove the threads used to connect the marks. And very warm felt slippers are ready in half an hour. All that remains is to decorate them, for example, with buttons, pieces of leather or colored threads.

5.

How to cut fur slippers with your own hands, step by step with photos

Experienced needlewomen advise starting to sew slippers with simple slipper models. They can be open or closed from any available material. By making such slippers, you can learn the basics of patterning and sewing house shoes.

The technique is very simple. To begin with, a pattern is made. Using the pattern, the contours of the parts for sewing are applied to the material. For the sole, use dense and thick material. The parts are sewn together and the decorations are attached to the finished slippers. For ease of wearing, a low heel is glued to the sole. This can be done conveniently with a glue gun.

their unique sizes are taken, patterns are made

You will need to take the following measurements from your leg. Foot circumference along the outer edge, length of the top of the slippers along the inner edge, along the outer edge, heel.

Starts with the circumference of the foot. To do this, place your foot on a blank sheet of paper. Old unused wallpaper is used for this.

You can tear out the middle of a notebook into a square. Outline your mark with a pencil or pen. That's it, the soles for the slippers are ready! The heel part of the “heel” is 1/3 of the length of the foot.

Now other measures are being taken. All measurements are taken on the foot in accordance with the already made sole pattern. To do this, place your foot on the pattern of your foot. For the top of slippers. The length of the top of the slippers is measured.

To do this you will need a “centimeter”. The “centimeter” is located from the edge of the big toe on the foot in a straight line to the level of 2/3 of the length of the foot.

The next foot width measurement is needed for the top pattern. This is the width along the inside edge along the rise line.

This measurement is taken to determine the distance from one side edge of the foot pattern to the other. The measuring tape is placed across the instep of the foot.

The pattern piece is slightly shaped, but according to your measurements.

Everyone is ready with personal measurements for future shoes. And according to them, patterns are made according to the sketches of the drawings.

patterns of all parts are made from materials

First, the pattern figures are redrawn “by eye” from photos onto paper. Then they are adjusted taking into account the required dimensions. A paper pattern is cut out with small allowances. Applying it to the leg and finally adjusting it with scissors.

For example, work is performed for male model. For women's, simply take a different material, size and add decorations (optional).

For this you will need:
Top part:

  • Faux fur. An old fur coat or vest can come in handy here. For the top layer of the top of the slippers (on the left in the picture).
  • Batting or a piece of cloth for cleaning the floor (not used), for insulation (center in the photo).
  • Thin, pleasant fabric for lining (on the right in the picture).

Bottom, sole.

  • Something durable for the soles. It can be a piece of felt, thick and rough leather, or rubber. The sole from an old shoe is used a little bigger size, so that a part of the desired shape can be cut out of it (on the left in the figure).
  • Batting is also used here for insulation; a gasket is cut out of it slightly smaller in size than the sole (centered in the photo).
  • For insoles, dense but soft fabric is used. You can use ready-made insoles, which are sold at any hardware store. Buy a slightly larger size and cut it out according to the pattern (on the right in the picture). The size of an insulated pad.

An additional detail is an elastic band 3 cm wide or a synthetic strip of the same size.

To make women's or children's, you need to take the appropriate size, select the appropriate material and decorate with decorative elements.

Step-by-step instructions on how to sew fur slippers with your own hands

The details of fur slippers are sewn onto sewing machine or hand sewing. It will be faster on a typewriter, but exclusive by hand. The choice is yours.

To assemble the parts you will need:

Needles for chopping parts to pin all the parts of the top together.

All three parts are attached together from the wrong side.

The stitched parts are trimmed 2-3 mm along the stitching. The protruding fur and the remaining threads along the edges of all layers are trimmed. It turns out to be a single piece of the top of the slippers.

The elastic tape is placed face down on the front side of the part along the inner edge of the top and stitched.

The sewn ribbon is turned on the wrong side and once again attached with a “multiple zigzag”. Special knit stitch on a sewing machine.

On the wrong side, the ribbon is cut very close to the stitching, at a distance of 2 mm.

The wrong side of the upper part is combined with the right side of the insole from the bottom. The middles of the parts must match.

The side marks are also aligned and secured with needles.

For convenience and even stitching of the parts, they are first swept out.

The insoles are sewn to the upper part. They work from the inside out.

Next, a ribbon is placed face down on the front of the slipper and the edge of the strip is folded.

The tape is attached to the front side of the slipper along the entire circumference using machine stitching

This is what we get in the end.

The tape is turned back to the inside of the slipper and secured with a “multiple zigzag” stitch. The entire upper part of the slipper is made.

The “heel-heel” is glued to the sole with a glue gun.

If the part is not glued very well, then it is heated with an iron, the glue will melt and firmly connect the parts.

In the same way, the sole and insulation are glued from the wrong side. To ensure a strong connection, iron it.

As I wrote above, the insulating pad should be slightly smaller than the sole.

The toe part of the sole is coated with glue and attached to the toe part of the top of the slipper.

In the same way, the back parts of the sole and the upper part of the slipper are glued together.

The final step will be gluing the entire sole to the upper part of the slipper along the entire perimeter. It is recommended to iron the gluing areas with a hot iron for greater reliability. If the slippers are made of fur, then it will snag in these places. But it's not scary. Keep the fur side over the steam for a few minutes and everything straightens out.

So the house slippers are sewn. As you can see it is very simple and fast.

Fur makes warm, soft and beautiful slippers. They are easy to make and can be done by beginners. It is enough to understand the main points in sewing slippers and you can move on to more complex materials, such as leather.

DIY children's slippers, photo 3 options

Slippers are cut in the shape of animals or cartoon characters. The shape can be in the form of boots or sandals.

corduroy sandals

For these sandals you will need thick corduroy fabric with any pattern for the upper part of the sandals, a piece of thin suede for finishing the edges with piping and for the fastener straps, 4 buttons instead of clasps.

The upper part consists of 2 whole different parts, bindings for the edging and a strap for the fastener. There are button holes along the edges of the clasp. Buttons are sewn on the upper part on the sides.

It is better to make the lower part from three identical parts in shape. Two of which, the sole and insole, are the same size, and the middle one is 0.5 cm smaller around the entire circumference.

A piece of corduroy is cut out for the top (on the left in the picture). The second (in the center of the picture) is made of soft, pleasant fabric for the body, this is for the inner part (lining). Both parts are connected to each other with a strip of suede. Place the pieces facing inwards. Turn inside out and steam with an iron.

The middle part of the “loop” is folded inside the sandal and hemmed. Along the bottom of the resulting top, from the outside, another suede trim is sewn face to face along the entire circumference. Fold the resulting border onto the wrong side of the top of the sandals and hem it.

For the fastener strap, a rectangular piece is cut out, sewn face inward and turned inside out. The ends of the parts are turned inward and hemmed. Slots are made along the edges of the fastener for buttons and the edges of the holes are sewn so that the fabric does not fray.

The upper part of the sandal is connected to the lower part of the sole using over-the-edge stitches made with thick nylon thread.

DIY jeans slippers, photo 3 options

Denim slippers are made from old trousers, skirts and bags. First, make a pattern based on your foot for the sole. Any thick fabric or material is suitable for this. Trace around the foot and you're done. Whatever is at hand is used as material. It could be an old camping rug, a thin rubber boat, a car tire tube, etc. Well, they classically use leather, felt, or felt for the sole.

women's denim slides

We used several scraps from old light blue jeans, a piece of felt, and a satin ribbon Pink colour for lacing and decoration.

The pattern pieces are cut out from the felt foot in 2 copies. One will be the pad, the other the sole. The same pattern with an allowance of 1 cm is used to cut out the insole from denim"obliquely".

A bias tape is also cut equal to the circumference of the foot. Two pieces are cut satin ribbon for bows. That's it, the pattern is done. Sewing slippers begins from the top. Fold the two parts with the wrong side together and sew them together with a seam “over the edge” along the rise line.

In the center and at a distance of 1 cm of the resulting top element, slits are made the width of a tape and a distance of 5-7 cm. These holes are processed with a “overlock stitch”. A ribbon is inserted into these holes and a bow is tied.

When wearing such slippers, the denim material quickly stretches out and you can use a ribbon to adjust the tightness of the fit to the foot.

Sew the top to the front side of the insole. The top is ready. The edge is processed with bias tape along the entire circumference. The workpiece is glued to the gasket with the wrong side and the bias tape is turned to the side of the gasket and glued.

The top of the slippers is ready. To complete the process, the upper is glued to the cut out sole and that’s it.

Czech style denim slippers

Made from denim, felt, cotton. For fastening, a large button from an old coat. Measurements are taken from the leg. A pattern is drawn according to size.

Five parts are cut out for one slipper: one-piece upper 2 pieces made of Jeans in a mirror image, fastener strap 2 pieces made of Jeans, insole 1 piece made of cotton, lining 1 piece made of felt, sole made of felt 1 piece.

Sew starting from the top. First, fold two strips of the strap together wrong side out and stitch along the edge with an indentation of 1 cm. Make a slot for the button on one edge and overcast it.

The two parts of the top are folded inside out and a strap is placed in the center. Stitched by machine or by hand.

The front side of the insole is sewn to the back of the upper. Glue it inside out onto the gasket, fold the seam allowances over to the side of the gasket and glue it.

At the end of the work, a felt sole is attached to the resulting top. Glued or stitched. Sew buttons on the sides of the slippers for fastenings.

stylish denim slippers

For this model, needlewomen use thick and thin jeans, foam rubber, felt and thick rough leather. The details are cut out according to the contour of the leg: Leather sole

The upper triangles are sewn together, two folded inside out. They turn out on their face. Part of the foam heel under the thin jeans is sewn to the insole.

The insole with triangles is folded and processed with bias tape. The padding is glued to the underside of the insole and the seam allowances with the tape are turned to its side.
The sole part is sewn or glued to the entire structure. The second slipper is made in the same way.
Triangles are tied on the leg across the width of the foot.

How to sew leather slippers with your own hands, step by step with photos

The most spectacular house slippers are leather ones. They last longer and remain in excellent condition.

They are sewn as simply as other types of house shoes. The only thing here is that you will need slightly different tools and materials. But, all these tools and materials can be easily found in every home.

What is needed for production:

  • Faux and real leather. Priority goes to thick flaps. Login will go old women's bags, used shoes, furniture, old jackets, hats and raincoats
  • Not a thick piece of felt
  • Small piece of foam rubber
  • Disposable slippers
  • Non-woven fabric with adhesive backing
  • Shoe glue or Moment or even super glue will do
  • Special needle. Thick, curved edge. If you don’t have one, a crochet hook will do.
  • Old house slippers for pattern
  • For holes in the skin, a punch. If he's not there, it doesn't matter. A thick nail and pliers will do. Using a hot nail on a gas stove, clamped in pliers, you can easily burn the required number of holes.

The work begins with the soles of disposable slippers. Glue all the slots with glue and wait for them to dry.

But while the glue dries, without wasting time, unripe the old slippers in order to make a pattern out of them.

New soles are cut from the soles of disposable slippers using a pattern made from old slippers.

4 pieces of leather sole are required for the outsole with allowances of 1 cm along the contour. For the top of the slippers, 4 parts of the top are cut out, also according to a pattern from old slippers with 1 cm allowances, on the sides at the junction with the sole.

The 2 parts of the top are cut out of non-woven fabric, 1 cm smaller along the entire contour. Non-woven parts are glued through gauze with a hot iron to the front side of the top parts.

To continue making leather slippers, two upper parts are glued together. Coat the edges at a distance of 1 cm with glue and connect. This is done by weight, on the hands to give shape.

After the glue has dried, the parts are trimmed around the circumference with scissors.

The next step is to use a punch (or a nail heated on a fire) to make holes from the edge, retreating 0.5 cm and keeping a distance of 1 cm between the holes. This is done along the line coinciding with the rise of the leg and fingers.

A 7 mm strip of leather is also cut out, threaded through a needle and stitched over the edge going through each hole.

The ends of the leather tape are glued to the wrong side of the part with glue.

Now cut out insoles from felt or felt, 2 pieces. For this, an outsole pattern is used. Additionally, two half-insoles are cut out.

Two “heel” parts are cut out of foam rubber. All these parts are glued together like a “sandwich”.

First, the outsole is glued to it, the insole generously lubricated with glue is glued, then the “heel” is glued under the heel and the half-insole is glued last. This produces the basic blank for the bottom of leather slippers.

Leather soles are glued to this resulting workpiece on both sides. Apply liberally with glue along the contour of the leather parts.

The entire resulting structure dries well. Then the upper part is glued to the lower part along the side lines.

The steps are repeated with punching holes with a punch or burning with a nail. The distance is 5 mm from the edge of the slippers along the entire circumference and 1 cm from each other.

An additional cut leather tape with a thickness of 7 mm is used to stitch the entire edge of the slippers. The next one is glued to the ending leather tape and stitched in this place for strength.

Women's slipper styles are decorated with flower appliqué.

These are the simple and easy steps needed to sew leather slippers with your own hands. Such indoor shoes serve their owners for a long time. Suitable for use in the bathroom and kitchen.

DIY felt slippers, photo 3 options

For greater comfort, coziness and warmth while at home, use felt slippers as house shoes. Sewing them yourself is not difficult or time-consuming.

The felt used to make such shoes is made from dried camel, sheep or dog hair. There are many benefits from such slippers, since they are natural.

Well, what is its main benefit, besides convenience, durability and simple manufacturing techniques?

The secret is simple. Felt creates a thermal effect. In this way, spontaneous healing of the leg joints from rheumatism occurs. These shoes help with aching bones. Prevents excessive sweating of the feet.

Wearing felt slippers promotes foot massage. Blood flow increases. This leads to an acceleration of metabolism in the body. It is recommended that old people, children and sick people at home wear only such shoes.

Slippers are easy and quick to sew

The pattern is made from thick felt. The leather sole is cut separately and is 1 cm smaller around the perimeter.

The sole pattern is sewn on a machine or glued with glue using a “straight seam” of leather to the felt pattern at the location of the sole.

It is folded so that there is one seam on the side of the foot. Slots are made with a knife or scissors and a ribbon or lace is threaded into these holes. The end of the lacing is secured with a small bow.

A simple version of felt slippers

It is very easy to do from the point of view of sewing homemade felt flip flops. Made from four parts: two halves for the top and two for the sole.

The soles are made from a sketch created from a pencil outline of your foot. The top is cut out on paper randomly according to the photo. It rests on your leg and is adjusted to your size.

The seam of the top is done using a “overlock stitch”. Next, all the parts are assembled and stitched with hand stitches using a strong thread.

felt sandals

They look very beautiful and fashionable. Not to mention that it is also very convenient and useful! They are sewn from four main parts: front upper, back, insole and sole.

A pattern is made of all parts of the sandals. The insole and sole are glued together. The remaining parts are sewn to the bottom using a cross stitch.

To consolidate the result, the sandals are sewn again using a “loop” stitch. An additional element is a felt or felt applique decoration attached to the top of the front of the top.

stylish sandals

The main parts, lining and soles are made of thin felt or felt. After drawing the pattern, cut out the upper parts from the main fabric. This is a one-piece sandal upper, insole and sole. Additional ones are a jumper and a strap for fastening. They are rectangular pieces.

The lining is sewn on a sewing machine to the main part, folding them right sides together. The allowance is cut very close to the seam, leaving 1-2 mm. Turn it inside out and once again sew a “straight seam” along the edge, at a distance of 1-2 mm.

Rectangular patches for straps and jumpers are each folded face inward and stitched, leaving one edge unsewn. Turn the open edge inside out and hem it. Then stitch along the edges at a distance of 1-2 mm on both sides. One edge of the jumper is sewn with a “cross stitch” in the center to the edge of the nose area of the front part. A loop is made from the free end and attached.

The strap for the fastener is made in the same way, but instead of a loop it makes a slot for a button and is processed with an overcast seam. A button is sewn on the sides of the sandals instead of a fastener.
The insole is attached to the upper part with a lining along the contour. Fold the allowances under the bottom of the insole and glue them. This creates a blank for the top of the sandal.

The last step is to glue the felt sole to the sandal blank.

slippers for guests

These slippers can be made for a whole group of guests in one evening. They are done very quickly and easily. Felt material. Sewn by machine or by hand using an overlock stitch.

The pattern consists of two parts: the main one and the insole. The main part is folded and stitched. The insole is placed on the sole from below and sewn with the same seam.

As life experience shows, handwork is not only a profitable occupation that gives a second life to outdated and worn-out things, but also quite exciting activity. There are no special difficulties in this work. Tools and materials can be found in any home.

Once you learn the basics, you can make a lot of house shoes. Enough for both household members and guests. You can also provide for all your friends and generally start your own small business. Shoe products self made. Create, wear and give.

House slippers are a great gift! Handmade with warmth and love, they will warm the feet of you and your loved ones!

I sewed these indoor slippers for all my family and friends. I’ve already made about fifty slippers! I determined the dimensions experimentally, but it’s better to check before cutting.

Step 1. Cut out the details.

Details of the upper part of the slipper:

  • On the left in the photo there are 2 parts - this is the very top, it can be cut out from some beautiful fabric, not necessarily very durable. I usually cut from faux fur (old fur coats are used!)
  • The 2 central parts are the lining, it serves for warmth. I usually cut it out of thin batting, the kind sold in hardware stores; they also use it to wash the floor.
  • On the right in the photo are the details that need to be cut out of fabric that will be pleasant to the body.

All details are cut out the same way.

Details of the bottom of the slipper (sole):

  • On the left in the photo is the outer part of the sole, it needs to be cut out of thick, very durable fabric, I cut it out of felt. From the same fabric I cut out heels.
  • The 2 central parts are the lining, it serves for warmth and softness. I also cut it out of thin batting.
  • On the right in the photo is the inner part of the sole. It needs to be cut out of fabric that will be both pleasant to the body and at the same time very durable. This part begins to wear out very first, especially under the heel.

Don't forget to cut out the pieces for the left and right legs.

Also for sewing you need to cut out strips of elastic fabric 3 cm wide. It is advisable to use for this synthetic fabric, it is stronger.

Step 2. Pin together the top parts.

Step 3. We sew a line from the wrong side, thereby fastening all 3 parts.

Step 4. If the top part is made of faux fur, then you need to trim off the excess fur along the edge. Cut it boldly, don’t be afraid, the fur along the edge will still get in the way. You can also cut off the excess lining and, in general, trim the entire part.

This photo shows the piece trimmed (left) and uncut (right).

Step 5. Now we take a strip of elastic fabric, place it with the right side on the front side of the part to the inner edge and sew it on.

Step 6. Turn the strip to the wrong side and sew with a “Multiple Zigzag” stitch (knitted stitch).

Step 8. Place the inner part of the sole on the wrong side of our part, face down, aligning the central marks (indicated in blue in the photo). We pin it with a pin.

Step 9. Align the side marks and also pin.

Step 10. Now you need to sweep away the parts.

Step 11. We sew a line with wrong side, thereby fastening the sole and the upper part.

Step 12. Now take the strips of fabric again and place them right side on the front side of the slipper. The beginning of the strip must be folded (see photo).
