In this master class, I will show you how to model your individual pattern-base in order to make a pattern of a women's vest. You will be able to independently build a pattern of a classic-style vest (part 1), or with a jacket-type collar and with a stand-up collar (part 2).

Vest number 1 - a classic women's wardrobe.

A classic women's vest is a model with semicircular reliefs from an armhole or with vertical reliefs from a shoulder seam. The cutout can be of any shape: triangular or semicircular - models on the first collage.

In order for the vest to perfectly fit the figure, the patterns of almost all models are built with an average seam on the back. This will help to adjust the pattern during the fitting.

We draw the neckline and armholes.

The construction of any vest model begins with the fact that the edge line of the bead is drawn at a distance of 1.5 - 2 cm from the line of the middle of the shelf pattern, parallel to it - photo 1. If your clothing size is 50 - 54, making your own personal pattern will help you.

Then we draw new lines of the neck and armholes on the back and front patterns. The depth of the classic triangular cut-out is 17 - 18 cm - point 1. You can draw straight or concave lines, depending on the model of the vest.

Expand the necks on the back and shelf by 1.5 - 2 cm - points 2 and 3, on the back, deepen by 0.5 - 1 cm - point 4. Draw new neck lines as shown in the drawing.

The line of the shoulder seam is made shorter by 2 - 3 cm, and the armhole needs to be deepened by 3 cm. Draw new lines of the armhole of the front and back as shown in photo 1.

The bottom line of the classic vest is drawn on the back pattern at a distance of 6 - 10 cm from the waist line. On a shelf, the distance from the waistline to the top of the triangle can be 12 - 18 cm. It is important that the triangular bottom of the front looks proportionally.

For example, if you chose a distance of 12 cm from the waist line along the relief line (point 5), then measure 6 cm down (point 6) on the side of the side of the side of the waist (point 6), and connect the resulting point with point 5.

Pay attention to the thin dashed lines on the neckline of the shelf near point 1. I recommend making the distance between them as in the photo - from 0 to 1 cm, depending on the density of the fabric. The thinner the fabric, the shorter this distance, optimally - 4 - 5 mm.

If you sew a vest from loose fabric: wool, tweed or a boucle, measure 1 cm. If you are making a pattern on tracing paper, simply lay the fold to the center point of the chest, and peel it off or seal it with tape. This is done so that the cutout of the finished product fits nicely to a blouse or jumper.

We simulate semicircular reliefs.

Draw semicircular lines of reliefs on the patterns of the back and shelves, which smoothly turn into vertical tucks. And also draw the lines of the pockets - photo 3.

Cut the shelf along the relief line, from the armhole to the bottom line. Connect the sides of the chest tuck - photo 2. If you have a base pattern without a shoulder tuck in the back, you can cut the back pattern along the relief line.

In finished form, your pattern of a classic women's vest should be the same as in photo 4.

On a pattern-basis, it is simple to make a shoulder tuck. It is enough to extend the shoulder seam on the back by 1.2 - 1.6 cm - point 8, divide the distance into 3 parts, and draw a straight line 7 - 9 cm long perpendicular to the line of the shoulder seam. From this line (the center of the tuck), set aside 6-8 mm to the right and left (1.2: 2 \u003d 0.6 mm).

For a vest model with semicircular reliefs, it is necessary to translate the shoulder tuck into the relief. To do this, draw a straight line from the top of the tuck to the topography (at right angles) - photo 9.

Then cut the pattern along this line, connecting the edges of the shoulder tuck - photo 10.

To keep the length of the reliefs the same, cut off the excess - point 11.

Important!  Warm models are not erased, as the lining may go astray. If you can not do without washing, then it is better to remove the lining (if possible) or clean the product manually.

Work sequence

A vest is a type of clothing that can be easily sewn at home. There are several sewing options:

1. The old jacket, jacket or sheepskin coat is changed.
2. According to the template, the product is made of the selected material.

It is best to choose options where you do not need to carefully process individual parts (collar, hood, fasteners). You can choose lighter models that can be sewn without the help of a sewing machine.

The back will be one-piece, so its template is attached to the fold of the fabric, carefully drawn and cut out entirely, there will be two shelves, so their patterns are laid on the fabric and cut separately.

In order to sew, it is not necessary to be a professional tailor, even a beginner can cope with this task, it is enough to watch a master class only a few times, and it will be possible to easily tailor and sew a sleeveless jacket. To complete the pattern of the vest for the girl and get to work, you will need such materials and tailoring tools:

At the beginning of the work, you need to connect the shoulder sections. Long edges are trimmed on an overlock or sewing machine or manually. The thread should match the tone of the selected fabric. Gathering folds, ruffles are sewn onto all sections of the product. In order to achieve symmetry, folds are sewn in the center of the product in the opposite direction.

Do not lose sight of the fact that the front part of the frill is stitched onto the front surface of the base material. Next, the ruffles are turned out and trimmed to 3 mm to indent the seams and iron them inside the details of the front of the sleeveless jacket. After smoothing the ruffle, the seam is duplicated to a width of 1-2 mm from the connecting stitch of the ruffle and the main material. For effect, the stitch is trimmed with a thread with a different color.

After sewing the side seams and cutting the bottom of the tank top, the work can be considered completed. For an aesthetic appearance, the seams can be distinguished by a thread of contrasting color.

Stylish men's tank top

In the wardrobe of any man, you can always find a lot of clothes that are outdated or have lost their presentation. You can give old things a new life by remaking them into other items of clothing, for example, you can make a stylish vest from an old jacket.

To do this, just take a vest that matches the parameters of the figure, but is no longer relevant, and use it as a pattern.

Redraw the product on the prepared material. Add 5 cm to the sections of the front, back and barrels. Cut all parts of the vest. It can be made in two-tone or one color as desired. We measure the shoulder length of 7.5 cm along the shoulder line and draw a new armhole line.

This line can be drawn either perpendicular to the shoulder line or at an angle.

Through the tuck at the waist, we draw the relief lines.

Draw a horizontal line through the point of change in the bend of the armhole.

Extend the tuck to this line.

We cut the pattern along the relief line and perpendicular to it to the lower point of the tuck.

Close the shoulder tuck.

When sewing along the relief line, you will need to stitch the fabric to equalize along the length.

We are taken for modeling the front shelf.

Around the center of the rollout we find a point and from it we draw a straight line to the beginning of the tuck. To ensure a good fit of the neck, you need to cut the pattern along the drawn line and apply 7 mm.

Close the tuck. The brown lines show the original version of the pattern, black - after closing the tuck.

Remaking the pattern.

Align the embossed line.

Mark the line of the pocket on the shelf.

Optionally, you can cut off the corner of the shelf, putting aside 4 cm from above, 1.5 cm along the bottom line.

To design the pick line, we measure 3 cm along the shoulder line, 5 cm along the front center line.

Draw a conjugate pattern line.

Lined vest workshop

For the manufacture of a women's vest, a pattern modeled according to the previous description is used. You can make it yourself according to your parameters, using a straight dress as the basis or use ready-made patterns.

We cut out all the details, lay them on the fabric, fix with pins and circle.

If the fabric has a pattern, for example, a vertical strip, then the layout of the patterns must be performed by selecting a pattern.

We cut out all the details with an allowance of 1.2 cm.

All details are processed by glue.

We connect a detachable front barrel and a shelf with a basting seam.

We connect the back barrels with the middle part of the back with a marked seam, and embroider the yoke. Sew the sides together with a notched seam.

At all seams we perform machine stitching. We remove the mark.

We trim the allowances, cut off the excess tissue.

Iron all seams on both sides.

We chop off the grind with the back, folding it with the front sides. We are concentrating.

We turn it out, clean it with mortar, iron it and sew it to the edge by 0.1 cm.

We apply a bead to the front side of the shelf, face off, chip.

We cut out the fitting pattern, duplicating the lower contour of the pick.

We cut the bead and the shelf, passing a line along the edge of the pattern. It is useful to us to repeat such a seam on the second pick.

At the bottom of the pick leave 15 mm of free space. We need him to grab the lining.

The vest from the main fabric is almost sewn.

We sew all the details of the lining with a machine seam, iron the seams. At the same time, we leave a free section on the side seam. On the back we iron the fold for free movement.

Pin the lining to the selections and the neckline from the front. Then we sew the lining from the inside with a machine seam.

Do the same with the bottom edge of the lining.

Turn the sleeveless jacket inside out, cleave armholes. We shorten and turn the product through the shoulder tunnels.

Through the hole left in the side seam, we pull out the shoulder sections and cut them.

We sew a free site. We carry out the WTO on rebounds, armholes, neck, shoulder seams. The vest is ready!

Extended vest

Made of drapes or thick suit fabric, the elongated vest is suitable for any type of female figure. With a shawl or stand-up collar, no collar - this vest always looks elegant. The elongated vest pattern is constructed according to the same algorithm as for short models.

Wrap vest pattern

An interesting model, decorated with a wide stitch and pockets with flaps, is emphasized at the waist with a wide belt.

The vest is sewn from thin costume, dress fabrics. The lining is recommended to be made of natural viscose.

The basis of modeling is the dress.

Front part

Close the chest tuck by performing a cut, as indicated in the drawing. We transfer the tuck at the waist - see drawing. We draw a curve line of the relief, cut along these lines.

Raise the shoulder line by 1.5 cm. Draw a new contour of the shoulder. We postpone the necessary values \u200b\u200bfrom the center of the front for drawing the side and lapel. On the side seam from the waist, lay down 22 cm, draw a dashed horizontal. From it we measure 8 cm, from the center to the left 4 cm, we connect all the points with the curved line of the side.

In addition, we draw a collar, the boundary of the lapel fold and the turning of the armhole in front (4 cm wide).

We designate the line of the pocket in the frame, draw a valve along the curve (width 6 cm), rounding one corner.

Back

Extend the shoulder upwards by 1.5 cm, round the line. In the center of the front from the roll-out we measure upwards of 1.5 cm. We draw a concave line (\u003d one-piece stand-up collar).

We draw a relief seam along the lines of the waist tuck. Measuring 22 cm down from the waist, draw a line of the lower edge of the product.

In addition, we re-grind the back of the neck and the back of the armhole of the back (4 cm wide).

Details of cutting from the main fabric:

Do not forget to provide allowances at the seams of 1.5 cm, at the lower cut of the back - 4 cm.

You also need to cut a pocket burlap 10 cm long and 15 cm wide - 4 children.

We sew a vest - a simple technology for beginners

We duplicate by laying the shelves, turning the roll-out of the back, armhole, external flap pockets, turning to process the pockets into the frame, pick-up, belt.

On the details of the front we sew embossed seams. Ironing allowances. We carry pockets in a frame with two edges and valves.

Stitch the central seam of the back, iron the allowances. We knit and shorten the side seams, leaving the seams on the shoulders open.

Having previously swept away, we cut the relief seams on the lining. Sew the hemings of the armhole from the main material. Sew on the lining to the lining and grind the roll-out of the back. We knit and grind side sections, leaving an open area (length 15 cm) for inversion. The seams on the shoulders of the lining are left open. We fold the lining and the vest from the main fabric with the sides facing each other, we process the armholes, neck and sides with whole-cut grouts.

We turn the vest through the bottom to the wrong side. We notice and grind the lining to the lower cut. We turn out the product, iron, sew along the sides and the lower edge, backing 4 cm. Sew the left part of the seam with secret stitches.

At the waist, we adjust the loops, we make a belt, we cut it, we sew the buckle, we break through the blocks. The vest is ready!

Pattern of the original vest without back

The pattern of a women's vest with an open back is built simply. We carry out modeling based on the front of the dress.

Draw the lines of modeling as shown in the figures.

How to sew a patchwork vest

We start by making a full-size pattern.

Each square in the figure should have a side of 5 cm.

Next, we sew two canvases for the front shelves, combining flaps of fabric and pieces of leather. It is important that the halves in front of the patchwork vest are symmetrical. Cut the shelves, customize the decorative ribbon.

From linen we cut out the details of the back.

We concentrate the central seam on the back, we perform the side seams of the vest.

We cut out the lining according to the same patterns, grind the details, process the seams.

We fold the patchwork vest and lining with the front sides to each other, cleave. On the neck, sides, armholes and lower cuts we perform machine stitching.

We turn the product through the left shoulder sections.

Sew the edge of all the seams, iron.

On the contour we build the vest to the edge.

• half neck circumference (SEP) \u003d 14 cm;
• semi-girth of the chest (POG) \u003d 32 cm;
• half-waist (POT) \u003d 30 cm;
• armhole depth (GPR) \u003d 16.5 cm.

Building a basic pattern

In the upper left corner of the format, put the point (∙) A. From it we postpone the DRC down, measure the POG plus 3 cm to the right for free fitting. Mark (∙) A1.

From (∙) And down we postpone DST, draw a straight line horizontally.

From (∙) A we postpone the hull, draw a horizontal line of the armhole. Find the middle of the segment AA1, draw down the perpendicular, set (∙) Г2.

To calculate the width of the armhole, we use the formula 1⁄4 POG + 1 cm \u003d 9 cm. From (∙) Г2 in both directions we put aside 4.5 cm, put (∙) Г and (∙) Г1.

Of these, we draw up the perpendicular lines to the intersection with the segment AA1. We put (∙) П and (∙) П1.

As a basis, a basic pattern of a dress of a direct silhouette with tucks is used.

We translate a breast tuck into a side seam. To do this, mark the point on it, stepping down from the armhole of 4 cm. Then we connect it to the top of the chest tuck. We cut along the drawn line. Close the chest tuck. In this case, the lateral section opens along the section.

Back modeling

On the waist, lay 1 cm from the middle of the back and draw a perpendicular straight line to the bottom line. We draw a curve upward, connecting a point on the waist with a point in the center of the segment between the bottom of the neck and the armhole line.

We increase the size of the rollout. We deepen it in the center of the back by 5 mm and expand it along the shoulder line by 2 cm. Draw a new neckline along the curve.

We expand and deepen the armhole. To do this, lay 15 mm along the shoulder seam, 20 mm down the side line.

Modeling Transmission

We deepen and expand the armhole, as described for the back.

For the fastener, we postpone 2 cm to the right at the waist level and draw a perpendicular line down. Extend it to chest level. The rollout on the front part is deepened and expanded, leaving 2 cm in the center and shoulder lines.

Our vests have a straight silhouette, so we will not perform the waist tucks and make the side seam straight.

Pattern of an elongated sleeveless vest

For this model, we shorten the main pattern to the desired length (usually about 20 cm). If it is too long for your height, you can shorten it by a large amount. The rest is left unchanged. To mark the pockets, set aside 20-25 cm down from the side tuck and mark the upper boundary point. We set the second on the same line 10-15 cm lower. Then we carry out burlap modeling.

We retake the obtained patterns.

Pattern of an elongated vest with a lowered shoulder

Determined with the length of the product. On the basic pattern of the vest, we reduce the armhole by rearranging the extreme points left / right by 2 cm (see drawing).

Note that on the front part, this distance is laid out along the tilt lines of the tucks.

To build a new shoulder line, we extend it by 5 cm and lower the extreme point by 1 cm. We build new armhole lines.

From the upper point of the rollout we build a convex profile of the neck, matching it with the center line of the front. We remove the indentation on the fastener modeled on the basic pattern of the vest.

The model provides for a welt pocket with a flap.

Optionally, you can not carry out a pocket completely, but limit yourself to a valve. In this case, we get a false pocket.

To build the valve patterns, build a rectangle with dimensions of 9 by 15 cm. Then we move the lower points 3 cm to the left. We get the pattern in the form of a parallelogram. We outline the location of the pocket on the front part.

We draw a frame-slot for pocket 2 by 13 cm and mark its location under the valve.

We only need to outline the location of the buttons. The first will be at a distance of 10 cm from the lower rollout point, the second - 15 cm from the first.

Patterns

We must make patterns of the back, front, rebounds. Turning patterns for armholes and lining are not shown separately, they are performed according to the patterns of the corresponding parts.

The increase in exhaust gas is 12 cm, since this model is free volume. Under a vest, you can wear a thick sweater or wear a vest like a double-breasted one.

Description

When marking the patterns on the material, it is important to consider the direction of the shared thread. Also of great importance is the exact observance of the size of the allowances, especially on the collar and sides. Such thoroughness will ensure the correct fit of the collar, simplify its processing.

In addition, be sure to transfer constructive lines and notches to the fabric. For example, notches on the waistline and at the bottom of the bend of the lapel serve as a guide when assembling the vest.

In order to save material, a subboard can be cut out from several parts. The main thing is that the connecting seam does not fall above the lapel fold. If we sew from thick material, then the seams at the joints of the right and left picks should not overlap each other.

Values \u200b\u200bof allowances:

• seams on the shoulders, sides, the central seam, on the tuck, the entrance to the pocket, the seams on the cottages and stitches - 1.0-1.2 cm;
• lower section - 3.5-4.0 cm;
• departure of the side and collar - 0.7-1.0 cm;
• pickup departure - 1.0-1.2 cm.

It is not necessary to provide allowances for the sprout, armhole, sewing lines of the collar, the internal cut of the pick.

For allowances on board and pick-up, it is important to observe a difference of 0.3-0.5 cm. For thick materials, it should be maximum.

If a slot is provided along the central seam of the back, then the allowance for these seams should be 5-6 cm.

Sewing

We duplicate with doublerin the detail of the back below the shoulder blades, cutting a section with a large zigzag. Halves of the front, collar and trim are duplicated as a whole (except for allowances).

We provide allowances:

• seams on the shoulders and sides - 1.0-1.2 cm;
• the central seam of the backrest with slots - 5-6 cm;

• sections of armhole and selection - 2.0-2.5 cm.
