During childbirth. Childbirth photo - What mom needs most after childbirth

Olga Bodnar, editor-in-chief of the website

Our Ukrainian Anna Geddes - so you can safely call Julia Patyak, a renowned new born photographer who creates incredible photo shoots for. The first days of a baby's life are the most magical, because he will never be the same as immediately after birth. Every mother knows about this, but not everyone so far dares to admit the photographer to her newly born treasure. And in vain: the pictures turn out to be so touching and sincere, tender and emotionally intense that, however, it is difficult to take your eyes off them. I, as a young mother, really regret that I did not do such a photo session for my son, because better memory you just can't imagine! As my friend jokes: why is this not a reason for a second baby? Yes, the next time, when I am not so scared and nervous, when I am not flinching at every squeak of my child, I will definitely turn to the sorceress Yulia, who reveals to the world the beauty of a new life.

Especially for each crumb, Julia thinks over the style, palette and appropriate props. You can choose from existing ideas (there are a huge number of them on the photographer's website!), Or you can create something exclusive with it. Sometimes, mom's fantasy can surprise even her herself! All these photos are proof of how successfully you can work in tandem with a photographer who sincerely loves his job.

As a young mother, Yulia knows everything about the kids and makes sure that the parents are satisfied, and the hero of the photo shoot himself did not even notice how the first moments of his big and bright journey called "life" are recorded.

Childbirth photoshoot: how it was firsthand

How did the idea come about? Julia has been taking pictures of childbirth for several years, and after her photo project "Conscious motherhood", future parents began to increasingly want to take part in such a bold adventure:

“After my project, there was a couple who were able to trust me, and a maternity hospital, ready to open the doors and let me into the holy of holies without unnecessary fears, for which a separate low bow to everyone!”, - the photographer shares.

And this couple, who dared to become the first, whose "maternity" photo session will be seen by the Internet, social networks and, in general, society, were 28-year-old Tatiana and 33-year-old Vladimir. Their relationship is 3.5, and they have been married for a little over a year. At that time, they were expecting a boy - their first-born Dima, and they did not even think about taking pictures of childbirth:

“Initially, we did not plan such a photo session, but after a comfortable and pleasant“ pregnant ”shooting, somehow spontaneously, there was a desire to try it. We doubted a little, of course. We thought that we would be embarrassed, and indeed, that this is not a very good idea, but in the end everything turned out very well. In the process of giving birth to the photographer, I did not notice at all (smiles) - it was not up to that. There was no time to be ashamed either. Of course, for the rest of my life I will remember the doctor's question: why is your photographer crying? What can I add: we were very pleased with the result. This is an incredible memory! ”- Tanya shares.

"Every time I witness a miracle, I cry with happiness ... some obstetricians are already laughing at me))) Well, how else can I describe what is happening in me at that moment? - Julia explains her tears.

As a young mother, Julia knows firsthand what a woman feels during childbirth, and therefore cannot restrain her emotions. Every time it is incredible excitement:

“I am very worried, because my own feelings from the birth of a son are still too fresh, and I clearly understand what my mother feels during childbirth. I'm always worried that everything goes well, I forget to breathe, arrhythmia ... but the camera, she is steadfastly filming. My hand is firm, ”the photographer says with a smile.

Filming took place in the Kiev Perinatal Center (Maternity Hospital No. 7), in a standard delivery room. The process itself, from the beginning of the contractions to the birth of the baby, lasted 10 hours - the same amount of time was spent with future parents and Julia, who caught valuable shots in the history of this family with her camera.

“The difficulty of shooting is that the photographer should always be there. Anything can happen in 20 minutes, and maybe in 28 hours. It happened in different ways. And all this time I am by my side. Not many were filmed from these hours - about 20-30 minutes in the delivery room - the beginning of labor, then 20 minutes - the birth of a baby and about 30 minutes - the next day in the ward. Waiting time is the most expensive thing in this whole undertaking, since during these 2 days the photographer does not have to plan anything, including at night, ”says Yulia.

The result, as you can see, is fantastic! The photos turned out to be true, but not brilliant, beautiful, but without pretense and unnecessary gloss, lively and very emotional. So the photographer witnessed the birth of a nice guy Dmitry, who will probably return to the studio in many years for a similar idea - only for his future family.

But what about the doctors and the famous medical bureaucracy: did they really react normally to the idea of removing the birth? As Julia says, everyone was very enthusiastic about the shooting itself and contributed to it as best they could, which even she herself was surprised at:

“What surprised me was the approach and attitude of the doctors. We have long accused doctors of negligence and corruption, this is the norm for our society, but honestly, I can’t say anything bad about my own births, and those where I have photographed: we had a completely different, really positive experience of communication with the doctors, ”says Patyaka.

Why are such photo projects important?

First of all, it is to instill in the Ukrainian society a taste and understanding of what the mission of the photographer is. According to Yulia, many are simply not ready for reality, since for people the world of photo shoots is matinees, dresses, curls, bright makeup and posing near gilded columns and flower arches:

“And the value of photography lies in something else entirely. Photos are originally intended to document important moments in life. The key word is IMPORTANT. And I consider it my duty and plan to move further and further away from the production, including filming for newborn babies. The childbirth photo project was the first step in this direction, a test for the reaction of society. My footage reflects life. I'm not afraid to look her in the eye and capture what others want to hide, ”says Yulia frankly.

One cannot but agree: such photo sessions are not art, they are life that the photographer managed to slow down, catch, stop, a moment that will forever remain in the memory of a person in the form of a living and unique snapshot. Probably, this is the progress towards which our society is moving: we no longer want to hide behind the artificial decorations of photographic studios, we want to be real. Even in the photo.

Childbirth is a responsible and exciting process for every woman. The most important thing is not to panic at the right time. Armed with complete information, watching a video or photo of women giving birth, reading the relevant literature, attending special courses that will help you morally, psychologically, physically prepare for childbirth, as well as the right attitude and support of loved ones, will play an important role in the birth process.

A woman can expect precursors of childbirth at home or be under the supervision of a doctor on such days. But in any case, you should constantly monitor your condition. The birth itself goes through three stages.

In the first period, the cervix dilates. In terms of duration, it can be completely different. First of all, it depends on the characteristics of the woman's body. The start-up period can take anywhere from 1 hour to 12 hours. It is generally accepted that multiparous women go through the stage a little faster than primiparas. But this is not an axiom. During this period, the cervix opens from 2 cm to 10 cm, i.e. the opening should start with 2 fingers and eventually end with a 10-finger opening. This whole process is accompanied by struggles and contractions, the outpouring of amniotic fluid. A woman can feel pain as during the menstrual cycle: pulling pain in the lower abdomen, in the lumbar region, in the chest. Contractions should have a constant interval between each other, which is gradually reduced.

When contacting a doctor with these symptoms, he will definitely conduct an examination, do an ultrasound scan to make sure of a positive result. If the disclosure is correct, then the woman will be sent for tests and treatment, which includes the removal of hair from the pubis and perineum, an enema. Next, the woman in labor is placed in the prenatal ward, where she will wait for full disclosure and the beginning of the second stage of labor.

II period - expulsion of the fetus. By this time, the contractions already have the shortest interval. In the second period, the fetus moves along the birth canal, making involuntary, rotational, translational movements of the head, passing two obstacles. The first one he meets at the entrance to the pelvis in the form of a transverse ovoid, the second already at the exit - a longitudinal ovoid. The entire process of fetal movement is called the biomechanism of childbirth. Differences occur in the case of the type of presentation of the fetus. It can be head, pelvic or gluteal, leg, mixed. The ratio of the back of the fetus to the abdominal cavity of the uterus, namely the anterior and posterior, is also taken into account.

When the biomechanism of childbirth begins, the woman is transferred to the delivery chair. This process includes: insertion, then gradual advancement and flexion of the head, then there is an internal rotation of the head and its extension, and only then follows an external rotation of the head, all this ends with the expulsion of the fetus. For better passage through the birth canal, the fetus is covered with a cheese-like lubricant.
After "expulsion", the lubricant is thoroughly washed with warm water at 37-38 ° C or sterile vegetable / vaseline oil, or a 30% aqueous solution of soap alcohol, using sterile cotton swabs.

III period - successive. After the child is born, the placenta is born, i.e. placenta and membranes. It takes from 10 to 30 minutes in time and is also characterized by contractions, but less painful. This process has two main stages - the detachment of the placenta and the birth of the placenta. The birth is over! Now the young mother is waiting for the postpartum period.

All this information can be viewed as childbirth in pictures in order to roughly know what to expect. In general, childbirth is a natural process that should not be feared. The body and movement of the fetus are "programmed" for a successful resolution. The most important thing is to listen and follow all the instructions of doctors in order to avoid injuries, breaks.

Good luck and health to you and your unborn baby.

  • A great miracle and hard work.

    A great miracle and hard work. Birth of a child. Not only for men, but also for many women who are far (so far) from issues related to childbirth, the maternity hospital seems to be a kind of "black box": a pregnant woman with a huge belly in a certain, well-known ...

  • 34 week

    Baby. The fetus's age is 32 weeks from the moment of fertilization (gestational period) and 34 weeks from the first day of the last menstruation (obstetric period) began. The baby's weight is 2.2-2.4 kg. Height - 43-44 cm, length from crown to coccyx -...

  • PERFECT BIRTH - everything is in our hands!

    Generic “harbingers”. Approximately two weeks before giving birth, the expectant mother's belly sinks, not earlier. Sometimes lowering occurs later, already at the beginning of labor, after the appearance of the first contractions. During this period, the head of the child descends into the pelvic region, the fetus is larger ...

Tells family doctor Veronika Nazarova:

Harbingers of childbirth

Well, of course, regular contractions speak of the beginning of labor - a series of uterine contractions, sometimes strong ones, that begin and stop.

What should be done if the water has moved away? You do not need to rush anywhere right away, but you must immediately contact the obstetrician who will take delivery. How long can you wait if the amniotic fluid has left, and the contractions do not appear? You can wait two days calmly, without fail observing the state of the mother and child (doctors out of habit talk about 12 hours, which does not correspond to modern world practice).

The head has passed out - a good sign

For most women, labor takes about 8-12 hours. From the outside it seems that it takes a long time. But a mother in the correct birth state develops an altered state of consciousness due to morphine-like substances - endorphins. The woman at this time is as if under light anesthesia. Pain in labor leads to the release of endorphins, so you will not see pain during normal labor (unless, of course, they are stimulated with drugs, do not force the woman to lie on her back).

The mother in labor has a detached look: she closes her eyes and looks as if she is not here. She can answer inappropriately and say nonsense - this is a good sign. This means that the woman's head has turned off, and we remember that this is one of the cardinal conditions for a good birth. Don't try to reach your mom, don't ask her questions! Don't talk nearby!

Even in intensive labor, there are breaks of about three minutes between contractions. And women have time to fall asleep. Then wake up and fall asleep again. Some even snore.

A bit of biomechanics

All this generic work is quite easily tolerated, provided that the woman is not frightened, not worried, she is warm, her head is "turned off", and she can accept the position that her instinct tells her.

If you do not command a woman, she will change position, but most often - kneel, leaning forward. If we look at the biomechanics of childbirth, then the opening of the pelvis in the supine position and in the kneeling position with a forward bend are radically different. The head passes through the pelvis much more easily if it is tilted forward. The pelvis is a mobile structure: the bones become like rubber bands, and can move relative to each other depending on how the head goes; they are connected by ligaments, which soften during pregnancy due to the hormone relaxin. The woman herself, by her position helps the child to get out, the body prompts her.

By the way, epidural anesthesia, which has become popular nowadays, does not allow you to feel your body, or to change postures so that it is easier for the child to get out.

The mother in labor has a detached look: she looks as if she is not here, answers inappropriately and says nonsense - this is a good sign

Love hormone

What can be done for a woman in labor? Create a security situation. Give her the opportunity to be at ease, "turn off her head." The main thing in childbirth is the love hormone oxytocin. This "shy hormone" is produced when you feel safe, warm, quiet, in the absence of prying eyes. And he does not stand out where there is fear and adrenaline gushes.

Husband next?

- What do you think about the presence of the woman's husband during childbirth? Maybe this is useful?

- It's very individual. All people are different. There are no obligatory people for childbirth, except for mom and baby. All the rest are variable quantities. They are divided into those who can create a sense of security, and who cannot, and security, as we have already said, is a key condition for a good birth.

Therefore, if dad cannot create a feeling of security, because he himself is nervous, does not understand what is happening, is afraid, or simply does not want to be there, in no case should he be forced to be present at childbirth. If mom thinks that dad is necessary for childbirth, and she herself desperately wants it, then she should think about the fact that, perhaps, this will be psychological abuse for her husband and can seriously affect his health.

What can be done for a woman in labor? Create a security situation. Give her the opportunity to be at ease, "turn off her head"

It is very important to understand that childbirth is a process that is not from the inside what it looks like from the outside. Outwardly, everything may look as if the woman is in catastrophic pain, and the further, the more. At the same time, she can say: "I can’t take it anymore, I can’t bear it," I am dying. " At the same time, childbirth is completely normal and the mother herself objectively tolerates them well.

But a man is so arranged that he must do something with the complaints of a woman, especially his beloved. But you can't do anything, and you need to keep a "good face", be calm. What he has inside, he, of course, can hide, but it can be broadcast. A person who "fills" with adrenaline can be "contagious." He may develop aggression, fear, which will be passed on to the woman.

But men are also beautiful in childbirth, relaxed, prayerful. And then no problem.

There are special books and training courses for husbands. But this is relevant only if dad wants it himself. It happened that dads fell ill a few days after giving birth and even died ... These are the rarest cases, but it would be wrong not to talk about it.

If dad decides to attend the birth, he must be prepared that the doctor or wife, or doula at some point may ask him to leave. And in this case, he should obey without question: after all, the main thing in childbirth is the well-being of the mother and the child, and not all the scripts and cultural attitudes prescribed there.

Doula is the protector

- Just about the doulas. Today it has become popular to take a doula for help with childbirth. What do you think of it?

- In the 70s, researchers Klaus and Marshall in the United States conducted a scientific study: women of Latin American descent were invited to women they knew, also Hispanic, who were already mothers and for whom motherhood was a common story. They were invited to just sit nearby, talk, support. And it turned out that the outcomes of these births were better - faster and safer. These experienced women nurses came to be called doulas.

A woman can say: "I can’t take it anymore, I can’t bear it," I am dying. " At the same time, childbirth is completely normal and the mother herself objectively tolerates them well.

In fact, if you go to the hospital with your girlfriend, and she has a calm personality, she is from a large family, repeatedly saw the birth and gave birth herself, she will sit with you, massage the sacrum, help you turn around, wash, give you something to drink, eat, talk to the doctor while you sleep - she will be the doula.

Nowadays, doulas are more and more in demand all over the world. These are women who are trusted by doctors, doulas are on the staff of hospitals in countries with a decent level of medicine. Doula is not just a nurse, she is a bodyguard, protector. She understands what is happening, feels how to communicate with both the woman and the medical staff so that everything works out the best way... Its task is to keep adrenaline at the lowest level. Doula is an intermediary between a rather indifferent, detached medical world and a particular woman.

A good doula can go to great lengths to protect a woman's interests, so as not to be disturbed. An experienced doula knows which maternity hospitals are best to go to, which doctor is better to negotiate with, who takes delivery how. She generally knows a lot about childbirth. For example, she read Michel Auden and knows that if a woman cannot safely give birth, cesarean section should be done during childbirth, rather than planning the operation in advance. A fundamental difference for the child's health: being born naturally or through a cesarean. If the former receives the usual maternal flora, which becomes an effective immunomodulator that forms his immune system, the latter receives the hospital flora.

Doula is a mediator between the detached medical world and a specific woman

Among those born through cesarean, there are more asthmatics, allergy sufferers, they are much more likely to suffer from autoimmune diseases. This has been proven by studies conducted in developed countries.

- At what stage of pregnancy is it better to look for a doula? How do you know if she really will become an assistant?

- It is better to search through acquaintances who have resorted to the help of the doul. When meeting a doula, you need to ask about her experience, what is she guided by, what books she read on the topic of pregnancy and childbirth. It is worth asking about her own path: what is her motherhood experience, why she became a doula.

Sometimes a midwife becomes a doula - not the best option, because she will act according to a "medical standard", and a completely different vision of the birth process is required from the doula. Its functions do not include medical control, it has nothing to do with obstetrics as a medical profession at all. Rather, she is a nurse. A doula can appear at any time, even from the very beginning of pregnancy.

When choosing a doula, it is very important to ask how many other things she will have during the period in which childbirth is approximately expected. The more busy she is, the less doula she is, because the doula has to make time for you - completely and unconditionally.

Home birth

- Now many people consider home birth to be the most correct. Is this really the best option?

- Home birth is a normal option for cases when a woman has no obvious contraindications, obvious ill health, serious pathologies of pregnancy, kidney disease, liver disease, epilepsy, diabetes mellitus (there is a list of contraindications). Studies have confirmed that, in terms of safety, for women in the low-risk group, home births give exactly the same results as hospital births.

There are women who do not feel safe at home, they feel more confident in the hospital. And a sense of security is an indispensable condition for the successful course of childbirth.

By the way, such a practice as “home birth in a maternity hospital” has recently appeared in Russia. A home environment is created there, the chambers are appropriately furnished. You can give birth with your midwife, with a doula. And, of course, the child stays with his mother during the most important period of his life.

What is the uniqueness of the first minutes

- Here is a woman gave birth. What is the most important thing for her in the first minutes?

- In the first hour after birth, a unique period begins, which will not happen again in the life of a mother and child: it is difficult to talk about this in our country, because it almost never passes authentically anywhere, without outside intervention. But let's hope that the situation will change.

Within an hour after birth, mother and baby are able to experience a time of amazing unity and harmony. This process is physiologically conditioned, this is a time of rare hormonal balance. One of its purposes is mutual recognition, so that the mother and child become attached to each other in order to feel each other better in the future. And nature allotted one hour for this.

If we talk about the authentic process of natural, healthy childbirth, when the baby is just born, the mother rests for a while. She is reclining, and the child lies below, and at this time blood flows from the placenta through the still uncut umbilical cord.

Mom will examine the child, stroke him, she will not even pick him up right away. This can happen in about two minutes, she will take him, press him to her chest. If you let the mother act instinctively, the mother will not put the child on the belly, but will press it to the breast.

Within an hour after birth, mother and child are able to experience a time of amazing togetherness and harmony.

After that, the woman will want to lie down, because during the child's release, adrenaline was produced, and then its influence decreases, and again the love hormone - oxytocin plays the first violin, which, as we have already said, is produced when there is a feeling of safety, in warmth, silence, in the absence prying eyes.

And so the mother lies down, puts the child on herself - and miracles begin. He begins to move, crawl over his mother, crawls to the chest, he holds his head, turns it from side to side, looks for the breast, finds, and then finds the nipple. He takes the nipple and sucks, and correctly, as he should, while opening his mouth well. All this was not believed at all 50 years ago: a human cub can take care of itself immediately after birth! But in Russian maternity hospitals, this approach is extremely rare.

And in this process - the guarantee of the child's health. He establishes a connection with this world through his mother, captures both the mother's face and the smell of the mother's breast, he receives friendly maternal flora, he receives enough blood from the placenta to open the lungs, by sucking he "straightens" the bones of the skull, which "folded" until he followed a narrow path.

After the baby has sucked the breast, the mother completes the separation of the placenta. In our maternity hospitals, they rush the separation of the placenta, they inject synthetic oxytocin so that the placenta is “born” as soon as possible. It is believed that it is with the separation of the placenta that the risks of bleeding are highest.

But with the right conditions it happens very well and purely physiologically itself. To do this, you just need to leave the mother with the baby and not bother them for at least the first half hour. It is clear that there must be someone experienced and calm nearby.

The first three days are best spent lying down

Immediately after giving birth, mom needs to lie down - and here's why. During pregnancy, and especially before childbirth, the hormone relaxin is produced, which causes softening of the ligaments. Therefore, in the first days, mom needs to move with caution, someone must help her. For example, if the baby needs to be washed, then someone else has to do it, or mom should have wet wipes on hand.

After giving birth, a woman often feels great, active, she is full of strength, a desire to do something, but this desire in herself needs to be suppressed in the first three days. The euphoria is usually followed by a recession - about the third day: “milk comes and the mood leaves”.

You can learn to breastfeed!

About breastfeeding: Approximately 97% of mums can breastfeed. And this is the best food for a child, everyone knows it - but what's the use? “I didn’t have milk,” “I have irregular nipples,” “my baby didn’t breastfeed” - you will hear this everywhere, along with “I could not give birth, I cared”.

Keep in mind: competent breastfeeding consultants can help with almost any problems (they are in all major cities, they also advise online). This is not done by doctors, these services are not covered by insurance. I say this because everyone should know "where to run, if anything."

Overload after childbirth is fraught with depression

- What does a mother need most after giving birth?

- The postpartum period lasts forty days. The first ten of them are the most responsible for women's health. Postpartum hormonal storms are worse than those found during pregnancy. If a woman has complications after childbirth, then, as a rule, it is during this period, and overvoltage is almost always a provoking factor. Therefore, those around them need to unload the mother as much as possible, take on all the worries about her: feed, protect, help with the child.

Postpartum hormonal storms are worse than those found during pregnancy

And here relatives make a gross mistake. They believe that they need to come to visit their mother with a cake and flowers, bring diapers and rattles, sit down for everyone at the table, take a picture. But for a mother, all this is extremely difficult, even if she loves guests and communication.

If you really want to help your mom, bring her some food and leave. Not flowers, but a saucepan of soup, homemade cutlets or baked meat, mom will remember with gratitude all her life.

After giving birth, it would be good for a woman to have at least ten, and it is better not to do housework all forty. Her business is to deal with the baby, feed him and recover. And cooking for yourself and your family, cleaning the house is a job that can easily lead to exhaustion for a mother who has just given birth.

An invaluable help is to pick up the older children in the first ten days, take them to the theater, cinema, and visit. To clean the apartment, wash the dishes, load the washing machine, without talking to mom, without changing her lifestyle in any way. When leaving, grab the trash.

During the day, when the baby sleeps, the mother should also be able to sleep, and not wash the floors. Her health, mood, even the amount of milk will depend on whether she gets enough sleep.

During this period, mother and child are one creature, they are inseparable, and everything revolves around them, everyone becomes service bees. Any overload for the mother can subsequently turn into depression.

What to give mom

Money. And don't ask if you need to. Necessary. For some reason, we donate money for weddings and funerals, and for the birth of a child - only flowers and sliders. Believe me, few people have a budget gap in the first month after giving birth. After all, only one worker remains in the family, and he falls off his feet, and the spending becomes more. I'm not even talking about the fact that there are single women, widows, wives of the sick and drinkers. Any of your cash gift will be accepted with gratitude. And if mom has special wishes, she will tell you about it.

Do not forget to ask for the opinion of the newborn

- You said that at first mother and child are inseparable, they are as one. How should this be reflected in life, in the routine? For example, should the child sleep next to the mother?

- It depends on the woman and the child. There are children who categorically do not sleep in their mother's bed. They need to be put in the cradle. Most often, children feel calm when they sleep next to their mother. In this case, it is easier for mom to feed the baby, you can not get up ten times. There are even books on sleeping together. Another question is that you do not need to set conditions for yourself: I will give birth this way, then I will sleep with the baby, breastfeed until three years old, learn to swim from birth, and so on. Life can turn out in different ways. And the child can let you know: "I don't want to."

A child is a small person, it's good to listen to what he wants. Indivisible - does not mean that the child must be constantly carried in a sling and sleep with him in an embrace. Mom just lives in close connection with the baby, and how it will be arranged - life will tell.

- When can a woman start returning to a more autonomous mode of her life? And the usual relationship with her husband?

- The correct question. After these forty days at the latest, it would be good for the woman to remember that she has a husband, to return him due attention, to return the husband-wife-child hierarchy. The dad naturally "fades into the background" with the birth of a baby. Hormones and sleepless nights lead to a temporary decrease in the wife's attraction - this will pass. However, if a man is deprived of attention and care for a long time, then this will inevitably lead to problems. And even Orthodox families are not immune from this. So you shouldn't “go into children” and ignore your husband.

WHEN THE BABY LETS BEFORE BIRTH (PHOTOS)

The approach of labor is characterized by numerous changes in the body of a pregnant woman. that indicate their near beginning.

Expectant mothers listen to themselves more and more and celebrate new sensations and changes. Child before childbirth moves much less than during pregnancy ... Its activity is reduced, because there is not enough free space in the mother's stomach. A pregnant woman can change her mood, worsen her appetite, and start training contractions.

The child, feeling a readiness to go out into the light, begins to move closer to the "exit". He takes the place of the presenting part in the small pelvis, taking a comfortable position for himself to wait for the onset of contractions ... Often before childbirth, the stomach hurts and turns to stone. Often women ask if the belly is drooping. Of course, the real sign of the close birth of a child is precisely ... In fact, when the abdomen drops before childbirth, it means that the fundus of the uterus has descended. Sometimes on the eve of childbirth, women have the appearance of blood ... It can be used to judge the exit of the mucous plug.

Belly before childbirth, as can be seen in the photo, and its lowering for all women occurs in an individual way - at different times and in different ways. Many primiparous women experience a prolapse within 2-4 weeks before labor begins. When a woman gives birth again, the belly drops. a few days before giving birth as shown in the photo, or not lowered right up to the birth itself.

Characteristic signs lowering the abdomen before childbirth:

- the disappearance of heartburn and belching, so tormented during pregnancy;

Easier breathing, because the uterus is no longer putting pressure on the diaphragm;

The appearance of discomfort when walking and in a sitting position;

Increased urge to use the toilet on the eve of childbirth;

The presence of unpleasant pain in the perineum and pelvis.

Some pregnant women do not notice these sensations. The most in a simple way understand if you have a sagging belly before childbirth (photo above), is to put your palm between your belly and chest. If it fits there, it is likely that the abdominal prolapse has already occurred before childbirth, and you will soon go to the maternity hospital.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND THAT BREACH BEGINS BEFORE BIRTH

Pregnant women before childbirth are usually very afraid of the onset of the onset of contractions and the process of labor itself. It is very important to understand how contractions begin.

Cervix of a woman during pregnancy tightly closed. At the very beginning, when contractions begin before childbirth, the uterus is also ready for disclosure - its pharynx is smoothed out, expanding to 10-12 centimeters in diameter. During labor, intrauterine pressure rises as the uterus begins to shrink in size. it leads to rupture of the amniotic fluid , as a result of which amniotic fluid is poured out.

How to understand that you have contractions? At first, you will feel some discomfort in the abdomen, hip joints and lower back. At first, contractions before childbirth will last only a few seconds, you will not notice any special painful sensations. The time interval between contractions will be about 10-12 minutes, sometimes 7-8 minutes. All these sensations will no longer raise your question, how to understand that the first contractions have begun.

The contractions will then become stronger, more frequent, and painful, and at a shorter interval. This will be the next phase. Thus, contractions will reach the moment when they will last about 2 minutes, and the next one comes after 60 seconds. If such moments occur, you should be prepared for the fact that the labor will begin soon, in 30-40 minutes.

How to behave before childbirth? After all, the most painful and last stage of contractions comes. Since a pregnant woman has a high diaphragm during childbirth, she can breathe only with the upper parts of the lungs. However, each inhalation must be accompanied by an infusion of air into the lungs, freely filling the upper chest. Exhale carefully and easily. In no case is it recommended to inhale the air forcibly, exhaling in jerks. When anesthetizing childbirth, you can use self-massage without resorting to analgesics.

Press in front of the points along the thighs, and massage with slightly spaced vibrating thumbs... The position of lying on your side with slightly bent knees is the most comfortable position for light massage of the lower abdomen, while maintaining the correct inhalation-exhalation rhythm. Stroking is done with your fingertips - from the middle of the abdomen to the sides.

Once labor begins, some pregnant women vomiting may appear... It does not last long, no treatment is required. As soon as vomiting stops, rinse your mouth with water and drink 1-2 sips of water, but no more. so as not to cause new nausea .
The second stage of labor is characterized by the transfer of women in labor to the birth hall. You can control the attempts yourself under the supervision of a midwife and doctor. There will be an unpleasant feeling of strong bloating. The overall painfulness of the pushing depends on what your posture is and whether you push correctly.

It is necessary to completely relax and breathe deeply - while inhaling without delay. The strongest attempts are those when the fetal head will pass through the pelvis. When the head of the fetus appears, the midwife assists the woman in labor so that she does not tear the muscles of the perineum. Follow exactly all the professional directions of the midwife. Remember that the baby's head will be pulled out of the genital tract when there is no pushing. Therefore, it must be restrained, relaxing and breathing only through the mouth without any delay on inhalation.

HOW DOES THE MUCLEUS CUP LEAVE BEFORE BIRTH

Removal of the plug before childbirth is very individual. However, this may not happen until 3-4 weeks before delivery. Often, it departs 7 days before the onset of labor pains.

What does a mucous plug look like? It consists of a dense clot of mucus (photo from the link) , which closes the entrance to the uterus. The infection cannot get there, so the baby is safe.

How the mucous plug comes off before childbirth ? You may feel clots of mucus coming off. The mucous plug before childbirth (photo) looks beige, pinkish or whitish-yellowish. Often discharge may be mixed with blood or with streaks, since the cervix, expanding, causes the bursting of small capillaries. A small amount of blood on the eve of childbirth is quite normal. There is no need to panic. remember that this is a mucus plug coming off. Just take a closer look.

The mucous plug does not look like an ordinary discharge. It looks more dense. A variant is possible when it comes out immediately in large volume. From that how the cork comes off just before childbirth, for example, little by little, little by little, you may not notice it, or you can confuse it with secretions.

Most of the cases where the mucous plug has come off before childbirth occurs during the toilet or taking a shower. However, if the characteristic cork before childbirth has come off, while you were dressed, you can definitely see this mucus on the sheet or underwear.

Occasionally, the plug comes off during childbirth.

In the event that the cork has moved away, and then water or labor, it means that you urgently go to the maternity hospital. It is also necessary to go there in case of bleeding after the cork comes off. You should visit a doctor if the cork has come off too early, 14 days before the deadline, especially if it is bright red.

The plug should not be accompanied by bleeding. It is only dark in color.

AT WHAT MOMENT DOES THE CERVIC OPEN BEFORE BIRTH IN FIRST AND REPAIR

In every pregnant woman, before childbirth, the genital organ becomes its maximum size. The shape of the uterus (abdomen) before the upcoming birth may be different. In the event that the fetus occupies the most unfavorable location and lies across, this means that the uterus is stretched in width, not in length, just before childbirth. In this position, as a rule, according to the indications, a cesarean section is performed.

With a longitudinal presentation of the fetus, the shape of the abdomen acquires the correct oval shape. The abdomen of an irregular shape occurs in cases where the child deviates to the side.

During an external examination, the midwife analyzes the muscle tone of the uterus ... The uterine wall is normally soft in a pregnant woman. However, with increased tone, it is solid. Hypertonicity of the uterus (increased tone) is one of the threats to abortion. An increase in tone can occur at any stage of pregnancy. Sensations will be in the form of pain in the lower back and lower abdomen. They can be light, very strong, or sipping. Signs of pain depend on the intensity and duration of uterine hypertonicity before childbirth, as well as on the pain threshold sensitivity of a pregnant woman ... With a short-term increased tone, the sensations of pain or heaviness in the lower abdomen are small.

The cervix begins to open before delivery. This is the first stage of labor. It opens due to the tension during labor, when the muscles of the uterus contract.

The maturity of the cervix depends on the production necessary hormones in the body of a pregnant woman, namely, prostaglandins. They have a complex effect - on the immune system, on the sensation of pain, on the regulation of blood pressure, secretion of gastric juice, blood clotting and uterine contractile activity.

Professionals should monitor when the cervix begins to open before delivery. Women in labor are obliged to fulfill all their professional requirements.

In primiparous women, the internal pharynx of the cervix first begins to open, acquiring the shape of a funnel, and then the external pharynx also stretches. Harbingers of childbirth in multiparous - the opening of the external os of the uterus by one finger. This happens at the end of pregnancy. and it is easier for them to dilate the cervix. The internal and external pharynx begin to open almost simultaneously.

Repeated childbirth, as a rule, in women is faster and easier than the first. In order to give birth to a child without tearing and not to tear the cervix, you need to listen and follow the advice of gynecologists who take delivery. The preservation of the perineum and birth canal of the woman in labor depends on them by 80%. To avoid episiotomy during childbirth, the gynecologist should lubricate the vaginal area and cervix with a special gel or oil, then straighten it and folds. In the next step, the doctor teaches the correct attempts. Don't ignore these tips.

Special differences in the harbingers of childbirth in primiparous and multiparous there is none. Reliable determination of the onset of labor can only be when observing the dynamics of the dilatation of the cervix.

Forerunners of childbirth can be, for example, a change in mood. Often a woman has a so-called nesting instinct. This is when a woman begins to clean everything, wash, sew, clean up. In a word, prepare for the welcome meeting of the long-awaited baby.

Signs of the onset of labor are changes in motor activity the fruit itself. The child begins to calm down, then, on the contrary, to be very active. The baby begins to choose a rhythm, as well as prepare for the right moment of his birth.

From the female womb, 1-3 days or several hours before the onset of childbirth, mucus is sometimes secreted, which resembles an egg white. In appearance, it is brown, very similar to the smearing of menstruation. The discharge may also be slightly streaked with blood.

Before giving birth, a woman in labor may noticeably change her appetite towards a decrease.

A woman's bowel movement can be a harbinger of childbirth. A pregnant woman often goes to the toilet. At the same time, the chair is much larger than usual. The urge to urinate will also be more frequent as the pressure on the bladder increases.

On the eve of childbirth, a woman may slightly lose weight - approximately 1-2 kilograms.

The lowering of the abdomen occurs due to the preparation of the child for the "exit" - he lies down with the presenting part in the entrance of the small pelvis. The fundus of the uterus at this time deviates anteriorly due to a slight decrease in the tone of the woman's abdominal press.

It becomes easier for a pregnant woman to breathe as pressure is relieved from the stomach and diaphragm as the baby moves downward.

When the child moves down, the woman may begin to experience pain in the lower back. , in the lumbar region.

Sometimes, the onset of labor is characterized by the appearance of dull, incomprehensible pain in the lower abdomen or in the lower back. There are also so-called girdle pains - when both the lower back and the stomach hurt.

The most reliable sign of the onset of labor is the presence of constant contractions in a woman in labor. ... At this time, the uterine muscles begin regular contractions with a steady rhythm.

Sometimes the amniotic fluid may leak before childbirth. ... But it can burst suddenly. In this case, all the water can drain out at once. If amniotic fluid has flowed out, you need to urgently go to the maternity hospital.

HOW TO ELIMINATE PAIN BEFORE BIRTH (BUT SHPA, BUSKOPAN CANDLES, CANDLES WITH PAINT, OIL, CLISMA, SANITATION)

A special diet is recommended for pregnant women before childbirth to help prepare the digestive system for generic activity... Vegetable butter before childbirth, it has a beneficial effect on the stretching and contraction of the uterus. In addition to everything else, dishes with vegetable oil enrich the body with vitamin E and are a means of preventing hemorrhoids and possible ruptures.

Women should definitely visit preparatory classes during pregnancy, where they will be taught to breathe correctly , will introduce you to the adaptive comfortable posture, as well as perform effective exercises (including the Kegel method for intimate muscles ) to reduce pain.

Pain, sometimes giving unpleasant moments to a woman before childbirth, is a harbinger of labor. On pain Before a routine delivery, the following factors may affect:

the state of health and age of the woman in labor;

physiological and psycho-emotional preparation for childbirth;

menstrual irregularities recorded before pregnancy;

size and position of the fetus;

premature birth;

the level of the pain threshold of a woman;

individual anatomical features pelvis, muscular, hormonal systems, etc.

False contractions are a common first cause of pain before childbirth. This process is also often called training. At this time, the muscles of the uterus begin to contract, coming in tone for only one minute. Thus, the woman's cervix is being prepared for childbirth. Such sensations appear after 20 weeks. , but they do not cause severe pain.

False contractions are intended to prepare a woman's body for labor. They are usually not intense and are concentrated in the lower abdomen.

Pain symptoms before childbirth, which need special attention to understand signs of the onset of labor:

constant contractions of the uterus;

the frequency of recurrence of pain with a break of 10-20 minutes;

reducing the gap between contractions to 2-3 minutes;

rapid relaxation of the uterus between contractions;

the nature of the pain is widespread, pressing and encircling.

Pulling pains before childbirth signal the imminent birth of a child. They start at 33-34 weeks. This process is caused by the stretching of the ligaments and muscles. In other words, preparation for labor. The pain is localized in the lower abdomen ... This is due to false contractions and the preparatory period, when the uterus acquires a tone, and the cervix shortens and shrinks. Lower abdominal pain, therefore, is an adaptation period that helps prepare muscles, ligaments and tissues for normal labor. It is not necessary to dramatize the pain sensations, since they are explained by a simple physiological stretching of the uterus and the displacement of organs located nearby.

Cause of pelvic pain before childbirth, there is an increase in the tone of the spiral uterine ligaments. Such sensations are especially common in pregnant women who have a history of pelvic muscle distortion (twisted pelvis). The ligaments that attach the uterus to the pelvis, as a result of sacroiliac displacement, stretch unevenly, thereby causing pulling pain in the pelvic and lumbar region.

Chest pain accompany almost the entire period of pregnancy. This is normal. Within nine months, the mammary glands undergo changes. The most noticeable breast growth is after 30 weeks, when the glandular tissue grows rapidly. Breast capsules stretch strongly, like skin pregnant woman. Chest pain is associated with this.

Back pain before childbirth is associated with the movement of the child into a natural prenatal presentation - head down. The fetus presses on the lower back, and the connective tissue of the sacroiliac zone is stretched. The lower back hurts mainly during the period of contractions.

Hormonal dysfunctions in women provoke expansion and relaxation of the joints of the pelvis and intervertebral ligaments.

Due to the large abdomen, physiological displacement occurs forward of the center of gravity of the body. It leads to compensatory tension in the back muscles. At this time, posture may be disturbed and a curvature of the spine may appear.

Factors causing perineal pain before childbirth:

increased weight loads the lumbosacral region, which leads to pain in the perineum;

increased production of the hormone - relaxin, which controls the elasticity of the interosseous joints;

gradual expansion of the pelvic bones (pubic joints) in preparation for labor.

To prepare the birth canal for the passage of the fetus, doctors appoint No-shpa before childbirth. However, it should not be taken without the appointment of a specialist. No-shpa is contraindicated in hepatic, renal and isthmic-cervical insufficiency. In theory, it sometimes causes premature onset of labor, since it accelerates the opening of the cervix.

Usually it is prescribed by specialists together with other drugs, more often with suppositories. it maybe Buscopan candles, Papaverine and candles Krasavka. Experts assure that before childbirth, No-shpa can help determine the authenticity of contractions. If you are not sure whether these are real contractions or false, then you can drink two No-shpa pills ... If the pain becomes more frequent and worse, it is recommended to go to the maternity hospital.

Buscopan candles will have a stimulating and relaxing effect on the muscles of the cervix. Thus, they facilitate its disclosure. As a rule, they are prescribed to prepare the cervix and to accelerate the development of the first stage of the labor process.

Buscopan suppositories before childbirth are prescribed only if the expected benefit from them is higher than the potential harm to the child and mother. Of course, the best option is if you don't use them at all. But on last weeks, at the end of the third trimester, gynecologists quite often prescribe the use of special suppositories for pregnant women.

The main thing that a pregnant woman should know is that Buscopan candles cannot be used in the first trimester, as well as for constipation. The best way to solve this problem is to revise your diet. Thus, Buscopan suppositories can be used no earlier than 38 weeks of pregnancy in order to prepare the muscles of the uterus as much as possible in order to facilitate future childbirth.

In candles with belladonna contains belladonna extract. The drug is produced in the form of rectal suppositories. It is used in the treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures. An additional function of this drug is to provide a relaxing effect on the cervix.

Belladonna suppositories have proven to be very effective in relieving cervical tension. However, they still fail to completely relieve pain when the pharynx of the uterus opens. Candles with belladonna are used before childbirth only if the pregnant woman does not have a risk of hemorrhoids and a predisposition to delayed dilatation of the cervix.

Immediately before childbirth, a pregnant woman is given an enema
... The absence of feces can facilitate the advancement of the baby's head in the pelvis, because in this case there will be no seals when moving along the birth canal. The ability of enemas to tone the vagina, stimulating contractions and improving the birth process, is its undoubted advantage.

Enema before childbirth is very simple. Prepare a chamomile decoction solution, for example. The water temperature is recommended no more than 37 degrees. Fill the mug with the solution, release the air from it and fix it at the level of one meter from where you will be.

Lubricate the tip of the tube with soap, cream or petroleum jelly, release the air and carefully insert the tip. Gradually, you should feel the bowel fullness. If you don't feel this way, try changing the direction of the tip. Make sure that no air enters the intestines. If you feel uncomfortable, start breathing slowly and deeply, stroke your stomach and relax. After the solution is injected, go straight to the toilet.

Sanitation- one of the important components of preparing pregnant women for childbirth. Sanitation is called cleansing from pathogenic microorganisms of the birth canal. When a child is born, it comes into contact with the walls of the birth canal. He can swallow grease, secretions, etc. In the case of pathogenic microflora, the risk of various infections in the baby in the postpartum period increases (thrush in the mouth, conjunctivitis, etc.)

To cleanse the birth canal, you need use antiseptics... It can be a decoction for washing with St. John's wort, sage or chamomile. Dissolved baking soda is good for relieving burning and itching sensations.

In addition, doctors may prescribe antiseptics in the form of tablets or suppositories before childbirth. They will be aimed at combating pathogenic microorganisms. The most common drugs are vinylin, miramistin, clotrimazole, terzhinan. , chlorophyll solution.

It should be noted that antibiotics do not work on candida fungus. This means that antibiotic therapy involves only targeting the fungus itself. These antibiotics are antifungal antibiotics. For example, nystatin contained in terzhinane.

Especially useful during pregnancy is the consumption of olive oil on an empty stomach, which normalizes the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, relieving the pregnant woman of constipation. In the last months of pregnancy, constipation in women is a very common occurrence. Olive oil also an excellent remedy against late toxicosis in the last months of pregnancy ... To soften the cervix before childbirth, it will also not be superfluous to use olive oil.

HOW WATER IS WATER IN PREGNANT WOMEN

Answering the question of how amniotic fluid leaves in pregnant women, we can say the following. Before giving birth, the fetus increases the pressure on the woman's cervix. The membrane may burst at a certain moment, then amniotic fluid is poured out. However, in this case, the child is not dry either, since that part of the anterior water that was between the head and the cervix of the uterus is poured out. In addition, the waters are replenished and renewed every three hours. Sometimes the waters drain before the contractions occur.

Understanding now how water flows away from pregnant women who are starting to give birth, you need to know that they sometimes leave immediately in a huge volume, which is about 200 ml, or a glass of liquid. This process is such a feeling as if a cork is removed, an exit is opened and a bucket of water is poured out, at least. Such a process cannot be confused with anything. If this happens to you, you will have no doubt that the amniotic fluid is already leaving.

Sometimes the water flows away in a peculiar way, flowing in a small amount, little by little. This is simply because the amniotic membrane is torn from the side or top.

Waters of light color, almost colorless are considered normal. They are sometimes slightly cloudy and should not have an unpleasant or pronounced odor.

After the water pours out in a pregnant woman, contractions may immediately begin. Sometimes this happens after a few hours.

The most favorable and successful option for women will be the discharge of amniotic fluid after the onset of labor. This process takes place against the background of very strong contractions of the pregnant woman's uterus.

It is not worth accelerating childbirth with medications if the fetal bladder is intact, therefore, the penetration of infection is impossible. If water is retained, then the contractions will not be very painful. In this case, the opening of the cervix will be more efficient.

Apply for an urgent medical care it is necessary in the case when the released water is greenish in color. Such green color signals that the fetus is either experiencing or is currently experiencing a serious lack of oxygen. It also happens when some of the contents of his intestines get in - meconium, original feces.

The temperature before childbirth can sometimes be elevated. This signals an ongoing pathological process. Elevated temperature should not be mistaken for a symptom of approaching labor. She, of course, can increase as a reaction to contractions and stress. But often she talks about an existing infectious disease in a pregnant woman.

The increase in temperature, which is associated with obstetric infection, is of serious importance for the child. Premature leakage of water, not diagnosed for a long time, leads to inflammation of the membranes - chorioamnionitis. It can develop as early as 3-4 days in full force after damage to the amniotic fluid. This happens if the pregnant woman did not go to the doctors in a timely manner, therefore she did not receive any protection from them. Watch not only the temperature, but also the discharge of amniotic fluid.

If an infection gets inside the womb, then the child will not be able to resist it well. At first, bacteria can infect the eyes, resulting in conjunctivitis and blepharitis. In utero, the lungs may be affected (congenital pneumonia). When bacteria enter the bloodstream, they cause blood poisoning (sepsis) and meningitis.

In the first days immediately after childbirth, it is very difficult to treat a child with intrauterine infection and infections.

Fear, which often occurs in pregnant women before childbirth, is most common among primiparous women. This is a completely natural phenomenon. To overcome it successfully, it is necessary, first of all, to think about the child and his safety.

Tune in to this behavior when you need to listen to the opinion of the obstetrician-gynecologist. Only in this case, childbirth can take place easily, quickly and relatively painlessly. A little pain will only speak of their positive resolution. Always believe in your own strength.

Overcoming fear, as a natural reaction of the body, is necessary because during childbirth it is an absolutely useless thing. And even harmful. The attitude towards a favorable outcome of childbirth, and your confidence in this will help you successfully overcome it.

Do not listen too much to the stories of friends who have already given birth and are now relishing the smallest details of the process, sharing with you the details of their already forgotten feelings, or maybe somewhat exaggerated ones. The best option the passage of preparatory courses for pregnant women will become for you. There you will have the opportunity to ask all your questions, to which you will receive comprehensive and very useful answers from professional medical professionals.

Look for only positive information about childbirth. Listen to the stories of those who consider childbirth the most amazing and wonderful moment in life.

Pregnancy is a natural process for a woman. As it is often said, pregnancy is not a disease. Don't neglect exercise. Continue to do your gymnastics and go to the pool. Your nine months' activity will be the basis for absolute preparation for childbirth.

LAST PREPARATIONS BEFORE BIRTH (WEEK). WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOURSELF IN THE MOTHERHOUSE

The long-awaited week before childbirth has come after so many days and months of waiting for the baby. Weeks 36-37 are already called the prenatal period. The child may already be born any time. Now, expectant mothers begin to experience fears that are not associated with pregnancy, but with the upcoming childbirth, increasingly thinking about the very process of childbirth. But first, it is necessary to do some recommendations of specialists in order to childbirth was successful and without complications ... This can be largely facilitated by pregnant women themselves, if they unconditionally comply with the requirements and advice that doctors give them.

Recommended approximately one month before expected birth, starting at 36 weeks of gestation , remove animal protein from your diet: fish, meat, butter, eggs and milk. Your diet at this time will be fermented milk products, cereals on the water, a variety of plant foods, fresh juices, baked vegetables, herbal teas and mineral water.

As the due date approaches, the diet becomes more restrictive. This is due to the fact that the intestines should not be overloaded before childbirth. It is also recommended to give up fermented milk products in the last days before childbirth.

Experts recommend that you make a complete debridement of the birth canal, starting from the 36th week of pregnancy. This is done in order to cleanse the birth canal from pathogenic microflora and ensure their purity directly during the upcoming birth. The risk of infection in a child increases if there is any infection in the birth canal. For example, herpes, common thrush and STDs ... A child can become infected with all of this when passing through the birth canal.

Pregnant women should be weighed regularly throughout the nine months. Weight gain is considered optimal during all this time by 9-13 kilograms. This calculation is done along with the weight of the baby, uterus, amniotic fluid, breast, placenta. The placenta, we note, at the end of pregnancy becomes much heavier and grows in size.

The urine given by a woman before each doctor's appointment is examined for the presence of sugar and protein in it. ... Protein can signal the so-called gestosis. This is late toxicosis, or toxicosis of the second half of pregnancy. The presence of sugar is known to be indicative of diabetes.

You can exercise and swim in the pool until birth. Do not under any circumstances give up on this.

The day before giving birth, a woman should sleep well. Sleep can be at least 8-10 hours. This is only the minimum time, do not deny yourself a dream, because it calms the body. The main thing is to feel refreshed and refreshed.

Before giving birth, doctors prescribe No-shpa to pregnant women , as well as candles with belladonna. They are necessary when preparing the cervix of those women who are at risk of slow dilatation.

Very often, before giving birth, a pregnant woman begins to vomit, vomiting and diarrhea appear in a few hours. Do not panic, this is the body in this way begins to prepare for childbirth, naturally clearing itself of all unnecessary.

Labor begins directly with regular labor pains. First, they pass at intervals of 10-15 minutes. Then they become more frequent, much stronger. There is a gradual opening and smoothing of the cervix. Then mucus, slightly colored with blood, begins to move away, a fetal bladder forms.

Two weeks before the upcoming birth, it is recommended to think about what to take with you to the hospital ? Do not take anything extra, so that you do not return home later. Here's a rough list of things you need to do.

1. Required documents.
2. Items required during childbirth.
3. Things that will be required after childbirth.
4. Necessary things for a newborn baby.
5. Necessary things for discharge:

- things for mom;
- things for discharge for the child;
- required documents.

The optimal list of things to take with you to the hospital:

Perhaps it is you who need take some other things to the hospital additionally. Consult your family doctor and the specialists who have monitored your health during pregnancy.

In life, there are few such joyful events as the birth of a child. A tiny and lovely baby awakens a storm of emotions in each of us. Unsurprisingly, there has been a significant increase in the number of photographers offering pictures of pregnancy and young babies. But there is another significant point that is often overlooked, possibly due to the fact that such a shooting has a number of difficulties. This is the moment of the very birth of the child.

Such a photo session, coupled with photographs of the expectant mother and subsequent pictures of the growing baby, will create the most full story life of a child. Below are some tips on how to get ready and have a photo shoot at the hospital.

Work on call

If you are interested in taking pictures during labor, make sure you have free time for this. Labor can be quick or very long.

There is no set time for them (even in the case of a caesarean section, because the doctor's work schedule may change in emergency). Be prepared to cancel other photo sessions if the need arises. You should have the opportunity to "break loose" and go to the hospital at the moment when the need arises.

This is not a staged photo.

Nurses, doctors, orderlies and interns will enter and leave the ward all the time. You won't be able to stop them to get a good shot. You just have to come to terms with it and work among people in the space that you have.

No flash

The mom-to-be is very tense at this moment. And the flash will only distract. That says it all.

Don't hinder others from working

Questions about procedures, medications, your opinion about childbirth or the actions of doctors are absolutely superfluous. You are here to document the event, not to give a quiz to healthcare professionals.

In addition, your task is to convey the atmosphere, emotions, and not photoconstitution of medical details of the process.

Organize everything in advance

One of the most important points... Talk to your doctor, medical staff. Talking to your doctor will help you find out if there are special rules for filming or recording labor.

It also gives you the opportunity to talk about what happens if your client has a cesarean section. Some doctors decide the issue of finding a photographer in the ward with an anesthesiologist. In case of an emergency, you will not be allowed into the room. In most cases, the final word rests with the anesthesiologist. If you are denied filming, do not take it personally, because at this moment the doctors are acting in the patient's favor.

You must obtain permission and consent to film at a medical facility. It is desirable to be documented. So that at the moment when it's time to shoot, you are not asked to go out by the staff of the house or security. You won't have time to deal with problems on the day of birth.

Prepare a contingency plan

You must make sure you know where the client will be taken after delivery. The doctor will tell you about this during the meeting, but be sure you know exactly where the correct room is located.

Find out all the details in advance, think about possible angles and composition. Warn the client that there may be situations in which you will not be allowed into the birth process for a reason beyond your or her control. Therefore, you will have to remove only immediately before and immediately after childbirth.

Prepare for the unexpected

Babies don't care about your time, the time of doctors and everyone else. They are born when they want. Get ready for fast or long work. Make sure you have a spare camera or phone battery and additional memory cards with you. Don't forget to bring your lunch money if you have to stay late.

It is better to prepare everything in advance than not take anything and end up in the hospital for long time without food and with 10% of the remaining charge.

Shoot history

This is the second most important piece of advice, after getting the principal consent for the birth photo session from the health care provider.

Flowers, Balloons, visitors ... All of this helps to tell the story. Catch the moments that your clients would like to remember. Even remove the sign that says the nurse's name and room number. Your clients will probably want to remember the nurse's name. If there is a change, take a picture of this moment as well.

If you see a clock somewhere, let it be in the frame. Not everyone remembers the exact time of birth years later.

Shoot everything until the baby is born. Perhaps the expectant mother will have a beloved nurse, and you will help her remember her name. Often times, parents want to express their gratitude to the staff, and your photos will remind them of the names of the people who took care of them.

Creation of a similar story, insurance in case you are not allowed into the ward immediately at the time of delivery. The client will still have a memory of this event.

Moreover, it is this story that is the main subject of the shooting. Photographing the very process of childbirth is unlikely to cause touching emotions in someone.

Remember - this is not your day

Don't try to communicate with everyone and be the center of attention. You can easily draw attention to yourself without even realizing that you have overshadowed the real heroine of this day - expectant mother... Let her know that you are here to photograph whatever she wants. This will make the birth easier and keep her focused.

Take black and white pictures

Prepare both color and black-and-white versions of the images. The reason is very simple. Some people don't like the nursing staff very much. Others cannot stand the sight of blood, or even a hint of it, or primordial lubricant (the cheese-like substance that engulfs newborns). Any other medical or physiological detail may also look quite good in black and white, but unattractive in color.

When clients put together the baby's album, they may want black and white photographs. Don't let them do it on their own. Take control of your photo processing and provide them with ready-made options. Customers can use fully color images, but you can give them a choice. Don't forget to photograph your baby's legs, arms and ears. Such photographs most of all evoke the affection of parents and relatives. Especially when something gets into the frame that allows you to understand the miniature body of a newborn.

Taking pictures during childbirth is very different from taking portraits. You don't always get perfect shots. Strangers can get into the frame. Someone can turn the light on or off. Anything can happen. Scenes can change constantly. Such a photo session rather refers to reportage shooting, where there is no time and place for staging, choosing the best moment or angle or glamorous creativity.

Keep your camera ready and be prepared for changing events. Seize the moments and learn from your experiences. Your next labor will be easier and you will gradually learn to adapt and navigate during labor and your stories will get better and better every time. Your clients will love you for this and you will grow as a photographer, artist and person with every moment you can bring to life.
