A vase of Chinese sticks. Master Class: Basket of Skewers

I made this basket for a dance teacher. My son is still small to go to a regular school, but we have been going to the dance school for 2 years now. And his request was to do something that was different from all the other gifts, originality. And then my mother had no choice but to get involved in the work. The son said: "Giving fresh flowers is already commonplace." What !!! Therefore, they began to invent not a banal gift. I took out my entire supply of trash and began to think of what to make a basket of and found. I decided again to throw things to a second life. I want to share my idea with you too. Maybe someone will come in handy on the farm. So here we go ... There are 25 roses in the basket, in each rose there is a truffle candy and in the middle there is a can of coffee.

I took a box of yogurt, because I liked the size (25 * 20), but you can take any container you need.

We take corrugated cardboard, from under previously purchased equipment or something else. Cut out the bottom and 4 sides of the desired height. My basket is 12 cm high.

We buy kebab skewers in the store (wooden or bamboo (cheap)) and cut the sticks of the required length with the help of wire cutters (I took the tool from my husband). I needed a little more bundle.

To wrap flagella from napkins. It is better thicker. Divide the napkin into 3 parts. The handle looks more interesting then.

And then around, close to each other, we glue the prepared sticks onto the PVA glue. I forgot to take a picture, but I think it’s clear. When you finish gluing, we frame the sharp ends of the sticks from above and below with the help of cloth flagella. This will give the basket accuracy and Of course, security, otherwise you can scratch on sharp tips. I glued 5 threads of cloth on the top edge, and 3 threads on the bottom edge.

Here it is more visible.

I used a thick wire for the pen .. I made the pen thick and therefore cut off 2 wires.

Inside the basket, along the contour, I glued rolls of toilet paper, for a better formation of a bouquet. In my last basket I really liked this idea. Flowers stand and do not fall apart in different directions.

We wrap the handle with a tissue flagella, very tightly.

The handle was fixed with silicone glue, but it was also strengthened with wire, because the basket turned out to be quite weighty.

As a result, we got such a product. For beauty, I added gold paint (acrylic) to yellow napkins and covered the entire basket with acrylic varnish. In my opinion it didn’t turn out bad ..... But of course you are to judge.

And then I filled the basket with the contents that I had prepared. I put coffee in the center, laid the whole inside with crepe green paper. To prevent the paper from flying off and not visible the unprocessed middle, I glued the tips to the 2-sided tape. It holds great.

And then she filled the basket with candy roses.

We got just such a sweet basket.

And then I decided to attach a butterfly to a pen that I made a long time ago. I glued it to a 2-sided tape.

But now she got a present. The teacher gasped when her son gave her this gift. And I was very pleased.

Even closer.

Well, one more time.

Thanks to all the guests who have come to visit me. Always glad to see you. I would be grateful and grateful if you appreciate the work. Until next time and MK! I wish you all the very best.

I welcome everyone to the pages of my beloved Inspirational Girl) First of all, I want to congratulate you all on this holiday! Happy Valentine's Day! With all my heart I wish you all to be always in love and dearly loved! All my life I wake up with love in my heart and soul! Be happy!

Gold Valentine. Skewer Heart

And now I want to show the result of my night vigil) Well, I had to make at least some Valentine's Day for the holiday! Who does not know me, I want to warn: inspiration comes to me at night, and it does not depend on the materials available. That is, what we have, we sculpt from that) And the work must be completed immediately, in one breath, from the very beginning to the end) And it doesn’t upset the malfunction of the thermal gun, from which hot silicone flows, without stopping (you will see the results in the pictures , smudges of glue spoil everything) And the lack of a heart-shaped balloon didn’t stop ... maybe they are for sale, but I didn’t see the little ones. In short, I really wanted to have a hollow heart inside. Since there was no ball at hand, it would be much easier with it, for work I used what I have - disposable plastic bags and cling film. My heart is made of barbecue sticks, it is hollow, strong (even play football, hot glue knows its job) and gold, painted with gold spray paint. Do not judge strictly, I really like my work) It is very beautiful. But most importantly, the idea is mine))) I have never seen such a Valentine anywhere, I saw lampshades from sticks. I wish you a pleasant viewing, maybe someone will come in handy) Happy Holidays!

So, the process of collecting hearts from lumps of plastic bags I did not take a picture, because I did not hope that I would succeed in the end) Why did I get the bags? I hoped to then melt them and somehow pull them out of the assembled structure. I wanted to achieve hollowness. I took packets, made lumps from them - first a large ball, then added two balls on top to give a heart shape. Wrapped - fixed everything with cling film, adding more bags. Why didn’t I get tape? It was not)))) And I really liked to mess with the film) As a result, oddly enough, my heart shape turned out to be perfect, convex. I liked it and I already decided then that taking photos is worth a try)

I took barbecue sticks and a thermogun with silicone sticks

Broke sticks, it was possible to file or cut, but did not begin to spend time on it, as I repeat - she herself did not know what and how it would turn out. Started to stick. As said above, the gun is faulty, glue from it constantly flowed out, therefore, carelessness is visible. I had to scoop up this glue with a gypsy needle and put this hot lump on sticks. I didn’t stick the sticks to my heart, I assembled the structure as if from above, glued the sticks together, because I knew that then I would have to pull out the base from the bags

At first I stuck sticks on top of each other in the volume of my heart, at first rarely, I tried so that the glue did not get on polyethylene

  That was the end result. I needed the construction to be strong, as if independent, so that later it would not lose shape

Further, the most shameful work process is skipped))) I’ll tell you) I breathed in the girls ... with scorched polyethylene ... I had to open all the windows in the kitchen in the cold. She took a screwdriver, heated it over a gas burner and poked it in polyethylene from different sides. As a result, it melted in places and I was able to pull it out piece by piece. It was necessary on one side of the heart, to remove part of the sticks from the flat central part. Then I stuck everything in place. This glue, which is visible here, is then easily cleaned with the same hot screwdriver

Now I’ve already begun to add sticks on top

That's all, could not wait to paint immediately. Painted with gold spray paint

We begin to show off and sculpt this heart to everything that is in the house))))

This is now photographed in daylight in the yard

Well, we’ll also paint, forgive me))) We shine and are very beautiful) And there are actually no visible smudges of glue, their flash treacherously showed!

Thank you all for your attention. I love you all!

Sushi sticks are a versatile craft material. Many useful things can be made of them. The main thing is to be careful and patient.

Before you start making crafts, make a sketch. Think about how you want it to look, draw details and make a drawing of their mounts.

If you want chopsticks for sushi, it is better not to fasten them with ordinary glue. Yes, super-glue will not help to make a good craft, since patience to hold fragments tightly for several seconds so that they stick together is not enough even for the most calm person. As a result, there will only be soiled hands and smeared and damaged parts. Use hot glue, small cloves or a special stapler.

Sushi chopsticks for fruit: what you need

If you like Asian food and collect crafts, it will cost you almost no cost (provided that you have the tools, of course). There are many options for what can be made from chopsticks for sushi. Crafts are beautiful and original.

Materials and tools:

  • a wooden circle with a circumference of 30 cm or more;
  • 30 sticks;
  • cloves, wood glue or hot glue;
  • measuring meter;
  • pencil;
  • a hammer;
  • sandpaper.

Buy a wooden circle at a hardware store. If you live in a private sector or you have friends from the countryside, ask them to cut a circle out of a thick tree branch. Sand it with sandpaper so that it is even and smooth and does not leave splinter in your hands.

Sushi Chopstick Fruit Saucer: The Creation Process

Now take the cloves and hammer. Fasten the sticks in a circle. Better to pre-calculate the interval between them. From chopsticks for sushi, crafts are best developed in advance on paper.

Measure the circumference and the width of the sticks, divide the first into the second. For example, if the circumference is 25 cm, and you have 30 sticks 0.5 cm wide, then the interval will be about 3 mm, that is (25 cm - 30 * 0.5 cm): 30 cm.

To make it convenient to mark the location, use the meter that is used for sewing.

  tools and materials

Crafts from do-it-yourself sushi sticks are easy to make. Each of us in childhood made bird feeders, cutting them out of bottles or boxes from juice or milk. But what if you try to do something more complicated?

Materials:

  • 3 soda cans or copper sheets (you can buy them at a hardware store);
  • 7 sticks;
  • scissors for metal;
  • pencil and ruler;
  • drill and drill;
  • stationery buttons and cloves;
  • pliers.

Bird feeder: how to make

Use tin snips to remove the neck and base of the three cans (if you use them).

Make an incision along each side to make 3 flat rectangular sheets. Each should be about 217 x 88 mm in size.

You need to flatten one sheet. Drill four holes with a diameter, like with sticks, so that you can stick them there. Cut two strips and make holes in them too.

Wrap two sticks tightly around the edges of the tin sheet. Trim everything that sticks out if it bothers you. From sushi sticks, crafts are usually neat, if the master has skillful hands. But if the sticks stick out crookedly, it's better to cut them off.

Take one of the remaining sheets and cut out two rectangles measuring 127 mm x 39 mm.

Fold each rectangle twice, bending 13 mm on each side to form a long, thin strip.

Drill holes through the ends of each strip with a diameter of a stick. Insert the strips at the ends in the same way as you did the roof.

Getting to the bottom of the feeder. Take the last sheet and make an even rectangle out of it. Cut out of tin, like paper, a box with low walls. At the edges, mark the location of the cuts. When you pass them with scissors, the boots can be bent so that you get a box. Then it is better to draw hot glue or PVA along the edges, or bend them so that the birds do not get hurt when they regale themselves with a treat.

Bend the corners with pliers so that the box does not open, or fasten it with a stapler. An ordinary stapler can pierce a can - its thickness is small.

Drill holes in the walls so that you can push the push pin through them.

When you made strips for the roof frame, you should have left a little tin, use it so that you can make mounts for another stick, on which the birds can land.

Household use

Crafts made from bamboo sticks from sushi will decorate your home. In addition, sticks can be useful in everyday life. Neat planed and non-planed, they will not spoil your interior.

Not enough skewers on the barbecue? Soak the sticks in water for 15 minutes, and then use them to pierce the meat and vegetables, then place on the brazier.

Support the plants. It is convenient to stick them into the ground and tie trunks of small plants to them. Insert sushi sticks into the soil near the spindle-shaped seedlings to give it the necessary support.

If the hole into which the screw is screwed in is too wide, the sushi sticks will be very helpful. Insert it into the hole and fill the remaining space with glue. When everything is dry, cut off the excess. Now in this place you can drill a hole again.

Sticks are conveniently used to mix paint. Plain gouache in a small jar or paint for walls or floors. Crafts made from Chinese chopsticks for sushi is not the only option how to use the waste.

Clean inaccessible places? Wrap the wand with a napkin or rag and stick it where it was difficult to get to remove dust and accumulations of dirt. It is also convenient to wash bottles with them. Put a stick in a sponge - and a convenient tool for cleaning hard-to-reach spots is ready.

Sushi sticks are conveniently used as markers for plants. Check the box with the name of the flower and briefly describe how to care for it. It is very comfortable. Or write it right on a stick.

As you can see, a lot of things can be done from chopsticks for sushi. Crafts are great, but by no means the only option.

It is difficult to meet in our world such a person who does not like ice cream. Children are especially fond of such a cool treat. Usually, eating this delicious treat, we throw away the ice cream stick. But, I think, few people imagine how many funny and interesting crafts can be done using ice cream sticks.

Today I want to bring to your attention a master class on creating a cache-pot from ice cream sticks.

For work you will need:

  • 20 sticks of ice cream,
  • 1-2 thin skewers or toothpicks,
  • 3 wooden sticks for barbecue,
  • 2 pieces of a three-core cable, about 10 cm each,
  • sharp-pointed nail file,
  • adhesive thermal gun.

Step 1: Assembling the trolley.

From thick sticks for barbecue we cut the bars with a nail file, tentatively, as in the photo.

First we assemble the frame of the blocks ...

The length is equal to the length of the ice cream sticks, and the width is at your request.

Saw sticks across the width of the cart: 3 - on the front side and 4 - on the rear.

4 whole sticks on the sides and 5 sticks on the bottom of the cart. We fix everything with hot glue.

Step 2: Wheels.

From the pieces of a three-core cable we need to pull out the middle wire.

We coat the remaining tails of the wire with hot glue and connect the cable into a ring.

And the second ...

We need to cut a skewer or toothpicks so long that a hole remains in the middle of our wheel, the diameter of a thick stick for barbecue.

With a sharp knife or awl, we make, in place of the elongated middle wire, symmetrical holes into which we insert the "spokes" of our wheel.

Like this…

And we fix it with hot glue, on a previously prepared whetstone, first one wheel ...

And then the second ...

You can, of course, leave it this way, fixing the wheels with hot glue .... The cart is neat enough.

You can simply paint with acrylic paint. Naturally, first we paint, and then we fix the wheels.

I really wanted to give the cart an unusual texture using single-phase craquelure varnish.

Craquelure  - This is an artificial creation of the “antique” effect - an effect over the years of a cracked surface.

It turns out to create a beautiful craquelure using contrasting acrylic paints: light and dark, pale and saturated.

Cracking the surface depends on how you applied the second coat of paint. When using the brush, the cracks will be directed along the movement of the brush. To get the mesh, the paint is applied with a sponge or very small strokes.

At home, without a specialized varnish, you can use PVA glue, furniture varnish, raw egg white, gelatin, vinegar or washing gel.

Craquelure technique is very specific and unprepared person may not cope with it right away, so it is advisable to try your hand at a separate piece of wood.

Personally, for the experiment, I tried two methods: table vinegar and PVA glue. The effect would not say that it would greatly please 2-3 points out of 5, compared with craquelure varnish. If you do not want to spend 120-150 rubles per 50 ml jar of varnish, then why not try it. Of course, experimenting is best on a small surface and not on finished work.

As I did, I tell ...

Craquelure using PVA glue:

We cover the surface with a contrasting bright color paint. We are waiting for the paint to dry completely. Then we apply PVA glue to it without sparing. We are waiting for the glue to set a little, and with a thick layer we apply acrylic paint of a light color. Immediately start drying with a hair dryer.

It turns out quite a lot of cracks. We will get a natural crack, but such cracks will be thin and barely noticeable.

Craquelure with 9% vinegar:

The rapid appearance of wrinkles can be achieved by applying 9% vinegar to a layer of acrylic paint.

We paint the surface with acrylic paint and gently apply 9% vinegar to the surface with a small sponge. The paint begins to spread like a craquelure.

Moreover, cracks can be very wide, it is convenient when you want the second layer of paint (contrast) to be clearly visible.

Frankly, I did not really like the type of cracks.

There are several more elements with which you can "age" the surface.

Craquelure using liquid washing gel.

Apply a base color and let dry. Apply gel with a brush. The thicker the gel, the better. Therefore, it is better to use concentrated. Apply a strongly diluted paint with a brush or sponge.

Craquelure with egg white.

Apply one or two coats of latex acrylic paint and let it dry well. Then, with a brush, egg white is applied in greasy strokes, not paying attention to whether one smear enters another or not. We are waiting for the surface to dry completely (in a natural way). Apply a paint of a different color so that one smear does not go over another.

Gelatin Craquelure:1 tbsp. a spoonful of gelatin in a glass of cold water.

On dried PVA we apply with a brush the gelatin that begins to harden. But still not completely frozen so that there are no lumps. Dry 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of the layer. If a hairdryer, then 3-5 minutes. Apply paint to slightly dried gelatin. When it begins to dry, it dims. If the gelatin has dried completely, then there will be no cracks. You can apply gelatin again without washing off the previous one.

You can apply paint over gelatin in any direction. Then be sure to varnish in several layers.

After all the experiments, I gave my preference to specialized craquelure varnish. 🙂

These are the carts I got ...

White - in contrasting shades ...

Brown - played a little with color to give it depth.

Decorating, of course, can be done in different ways ...

  I was glad to help!
