Today I will talk about how to make a Christmas angel out of fabric with my own hands. This step-by-step instruction was conceived by me in the sequel. Soon we will celebrate Christmas, so Christmas decorations in the coming weeks are sure to come in handy. Kids of all ages love to decorate the Christmas tree, especially with handmade toys.

So, in order to make such an angel, we need:
White or cream fabric (I deliberately rummaged in the fabric store, I liked linen most of all, because it is quite dense and holds its shape well), knitting thread of any color (suitable with lurex acrylic, bamboo), a small piece of batting, light sewing threads and scissors.

First of all, we cut out two squares of fabric: one 20X20 cm in size, the second 15X15 cm. Next, I framed the edges, so the edges look more beautiful

After that, cut out a small strip of 1.5X9 cm in size from the batting (approximately). This will be the head of an angel.

We place the roller in the center of the large square where the diagonal fold line runs

Then you need to bend the corners down so that we get the head of an angel with a face. In this case, the thumb of the left hand should be under the "chin". Thus the head will be extended.

I want to share the sewing of such an angel that will bring warmth and tenderness to your home.

the pattern is applicable to the A4 format, but you can increase or decrease it if desired. To do this is very simple - on the monitor we make the size larger or smaller, attach a sheet of paper and redraw it. Remember how in childhood drawings were applied to the window?))))

You can use any fabric for sewing: calico, linen, cotton ... If there is no color, then the fabric can be dyed. Further, the recipe: 5 liters of water, 6-8 tea bags of the cheapest tea and a tablespoon of salt, for a smell you can add a bag of vanilla. We make tea well and take out tea bags. In this solution we lower the decomposed tissue and gently turn it over with a spoon so that it is well dyed and there are no stains. The longer you hold, the slightly darker the color. Then you need to hang the fabric to dry. You need to hang over one edge, because there will be a light strip at the bend. I don’t dry the fabric completely, but iron it when it’s slightly damp, it’s much easier to iron it. We transfer the pattern to the fabric: all parts, except the front part, in two additions. Next we sew the details. I don’t sweep it, much less cut the parts, we will cut it later when we sew. Red dots indicate places that are not sewn when stapled. Namely: the top of the legs, the lower body and upper neck, a small area in the upper part of the handle and in the middle of the nape.

When the back of the head is sewn, we sweep it to the front and sew in a circle. It is not necessary to leave unstitched sites, as there is already a place for eversion in the back of the head.

Now we cut our details with zigzag scissors. If there are none, then it’s just close to the line, but in the places of rounding you need to make notches or cut out with triangles, imitating a zigzag, which is preferable.

Now you need to turn out the details. Thin leg handles can be turned out very easily. To do this, you need a tube and a wand. I use gel pen paste and a sushi stick.
Insert the tube into the leg / handle until it stops and rest the stickinto the tube. Now we begin to pull the fabric on a stick, like a stocking. It’s convenient for me to do this when I rest the tube against something: a table or myself))) then I have two free hands. Nothing complicated and everything is very fast)))

The bottom of the body needs to be cut with stitch stitches.

Now we’ll get an assistant and stuff the details))) For stuffing, you can use holofiber (this is what pillows fill with), a synthetic winterizer cut into small pieces, but not cotton !!! It goes astray and is not suitable for stuffing toys. I use holofiber - I buy the most ordinary pillows and gut them. We fill all the parts tightly, especially the head !!!

When the legs are full, you need to sew them into the body. There are two ways: straight legs and club feet. Be sure to keep the legs the same length! When the legs are sewn, you can stuff the body. We stuff the body tightly, and especially in the neck area.

Now sew all sections with hidden stitches

Now let's draw a little bit))) I use Decola acrylic paint. It is in sets and individual jars. Set to buy cheaper. First, with a pencil, draw the outline of future shoes, then draw along the outline with paint and fill it. You can put dots on the back of the brush. The paint dries quickly enough.

Cut out panties and sew. The photo shows the sequence of red dots. We twist and dress on the doll. You can lay folds so that it is “in shape”

We pass to the dress. It is very simple. The top of the dress is a rectangle of fabric folded in half. The skirt is also a rectangle, but two to three times wider than the top of the dress and the desired length. I used the main fabric and lace.
First you need to process the details. Double-wrap the top of the dress. We cut the skirts of the main fabric low and also overlock together with lace along the side seams and the upper cut.

With a large stitch, stitch the top of the skirt and pull it to the width of the top. Sew together and lay the finishing line. Sew the back seam. Dress is done!

Sleeves. The pattern of the sleeve is done on the basis of the pattern of the hand, but add a couple of millimeters a).

Let's do curls. We need felting wool (combed tops), wooden skewers, hair foam.
Pour water into a bowl and squeeze the foam, mix.

We cut off the wool of the required length and divide it into separate locks.You can cut 2 different lengths. Those. a piece of wool is one length, a second and third piece is a second length.
We slightly wet the lock and wrap it tightly on a skewer. Leave to dry. I dry all night.

While the curls are drying, let's do the decor.
For a wreath, cut out a circle from cardboard and wrap it with a satin ribbon. The remaining tail is not yet cut.
We trim the wreath with beads to your taste.

We make a stand. Forgive me, professional decoupage masters)))
First, I cover it with acrylic paint. When the paint is almost dry, but still a little sticky, put a napkin on top. IMPORTANT: we need only one layer! Align with fingers. We cut off the excess napkin. Varnish for decoupage. If there is no special varnish, then so as not to be wasted, you can either leave it or try to cover it with nail polish.
When the varnish is dry, drill a hole and insert the wand. Glue the gum, we will insert the doll into it.

We sew wings. When they turned it out, you can leave them anyway, or you can fill them up. I leave it and sew it in a circle with a contrasting thread.

Now let's get a haircut. Remove the curl from the sticks and select long and short. We will use short ones first.
Now we take a curl, put it on the head and roll it. This requires a special needle. At the tip of such a needle there are notches, due to which the wool is lowered into the head and falls off with stuffing the head. When working with a needle, you need to be very careful, because the needle is very long and sharp.

Burlap angel

Such toys are similar to those that grandmothers made to their grandchildren in childhood. Making an angel from burlap is quite simple. Twist the cone out of cardboard and upholstered with a cloth of your choice. Sacking is recommended to simply stick to one side of the cardboard. Fold the fabric into a cone and fix it with hot glue or a stapler. Next, you need to make a head.
