New Year in Latin style. Themed new year

How to spend a birthday in an original way, so that both the birthday person and the guests are amused? If you are now asking yourself this question, it means that this article will be 100% interesting to you. Although, I think the article will be interesting for you in any case. So sit down more comfortably and read - scenario of a mexican party :).

A bit of background. My husband categorically refuses to celebrate his birthdays. Therefore, I had to go to the trick and lure him with a fun cultural program that would not involve the pronunciation of solemn speeches and other officialdom. 😉 The guests were invited from among "their own" - relatives and godfathers. Since the holiday was supposed to be celebrated in early September, we decided to spend it outdoors - in the gazebo of one of the tourist centers, which we had booked in advance for this occasion.

Two weeks before the birthday celebration, the birthday man (Kostya, aka Don Costillo) handed the guests "Mexican", and I started to be active.

The closer the date of the celebration approached, the clearer Gismeteo made it clear to us that good weather for this day should not be expected ... Damn, what to do - cold + rain and wind ?! 🙁 Well, we decided not to despair and celebrate the holiday in our apartment (the reservation was still not canceled and, looking ahead, I will say that I did not regret it).

Meeting with guests

Don Costillo (in a sombrero, with a mustache and with the birthday boy's badge) meets everyone at the entrance, accepts congratulations and informs them that in order to get to the ranch they need to cross the Mexican border. The birthday boy dresses everyone with mini sombreros and gives simple instructions, without which it will be very difficult to cross the Mexican border:

1. Greet other Mexicans "Ola" or "Buenos diaz / tordes / noches" and call them "Amigo"
2. Smile broadly, laugh and joke. In short, fun to have fun 🙂

Don Costillo also distributes fake passports to everyone with Mexican names consonant with the real ones (for example, Sergei Alexandrov - Sergio Sanchez), and with photos of guests in Mexican attire. I prepared the passports using Photoshop. They perfectly cheered everyone present at the beginning of the holiday :). The passports were kept as a keepsake for the guests.

At the border, the guests are greeted by a border guard (I am Olita Negros) and a customs officer (our daughter Dasha is Dashita Negros) - we have nameplates on our table.

Border guard: “Buenos diaz, seniors and senoritas! Prepared documents. "

P checks passports and begins to find fault, asking questions of individual guests:

“Komo te yamas? .. Ferstein? I ask what is your name?
"Why did you shave off your mustache, Pedro?"
"How old are you, senorita?" ... "Yes? .. And you will iron 21 and a half."
"Purpose of visiting Mexico?"
"Who are you eating?" ... "Oh, Don Costillo - a very respected senior"

The customs officer asks "Weapons, drugs, ... are you taking lard with you?"

If the guests say that they do not have this, we skip, otherwise we say: “Great, we will need this in Mexico” and also skip.

However, in order to finally make sure of the authenticity of the Mexicans, adult guests are invited to drink a glass or a glass of cocktail. Non-drinking seniors and senorites can also be offered a choice of a slice of lime or a pod of red pepper :). After the last test, the border guard and the customs officer recognize "their own" and are warmly invited to Mexico: "Bienvenido a México!" (Bienwinido e mexico!).

The background music turns on (music performed by mariachi - Mexican instrumental ensembles), and guests are invited to the festive table to enjoy Mexican treats. My husband took the first word, thanked for the congratulations and said that today he invites everyone to rest, relax and spend a holiday without solemn speeches. Therefore, all subsequent toasts were general exclamations like:

"Viva, Don Costillo !!!",
"Feliz cumpleanos!" (Feliz Cumpleanos!) Which means Happy Birthday!
“For Don Costillo!”, “For Mexico and its Noble People,” etc.

In between toasts, I invited guests to participate in contests, some of which I borrowed from the Internet. The winners and the most active participants received small prizes: lime, lemon, an ear of corn, a pack of Nachos corn chips, a pack of corn sticks, chili peppers and chocolate (a favorite delicacy of the Mexicans).

The traditional celebration of the New Year in front of the TV with Olivier salad, champagne and Irony of Fate is boring to many, they want something more original and memorable. Therefore, it becomes more and more popular themed New Year.

Themed New Year's parties are held in clubs, at corporate events, you can organize such a party at home. Several ideas for a themed New Year's party offers you the Land of the Soviets.

Themed New Year in Wonderland... It's hard to find someone who hasn't read Alice in Wonderland. Have yourself a New Year's tea party with a little madness. Put on the table several different-colored tea sets; do not forget to put Sonya's mouse (at least a toy one) in one of the teapots. Dress up in the costumes of the participants in the crazy tea party and do not forget to change all the time. You can play various games - for example, draw words on the letter M - and at twelve o'clock in the morning you need to drink champagne from a small bottle labeled "Drink me" and have a snack with cookies labeled "Eat me." From time to time, someone should shout “Cut off her head!” So \u200b\u200bthat the guests do not relax and fall asleep like the Sonya mouse.

Thematic New Year "Wizards"... This New Year's film is probably also familiar to everyone. Such a holiday is more suitable for a corporate party. Arrange in your office a branch of NUINU - Scientific Universal Institute of Extraordinary Services. Obligatory attributes of the holiday are outfits in the style of the 80s ("The main thing is that the suit is sitting!") And belief in magic. You can also choose a hut on chicken legs with a grumpy self-assembled tablecloth as an entourage. And at the festive table, do not forget to sing everyone's favorite songs - "Three White Horses" and "Snowflake". An alternative to the “Wizards” party can be a themed New Year after “Monday starts on Saturday” by the Strugatskys, based on which the film was filmed.

Themed New Year in Latin American style... If you like bright and noisy parties, then the New Year in Latin American style is what you need. Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba ... Where do you want to go on New Year's Eve? All you need is bright suits, wide-brimmed hats and fiery rhythms. Decorate the room with bright flowers (you can use artificial ones), dress up a cactus instead of a Christmas tree. Serve on the table, and replace (or supplement) traditional champagne with Mexican or Cuban cocktails. Well, competitions should be appropriate - for example, the well-known dance-game limbo with passing under the bar. And instead of the traditional round dance, dance salsa around the tree.

Thematic New Year "Pirates of the Caribbean"... The pirate theme is becoming more and more popular, so why not choose it as the theme for your New Years holiday party? It is not necessary to be based on a movie with Johnny Depp and try on the image of Jack Sparrow, there is, after all, "Treasure Island" and other films and books with a pirate theme. For a couple in love, for example, the images from "Angelica" will suit: Angelica herself and her husband, Count Geoffrey de Peyrac, when he was a pirate Rescator. Corsets, vests, hats with feathers, an eye patch, a parrot on the shoulder ... And, of course, rum on the festive table. In general, there should be no problems with the pirate surroundings. And as the main entertainment on New Year's Eve, you can arrange a treasure hunt quest.

New Year Casino... If you and your friends are not alien to excitement, you can open a casino in your apartment on New Year's Eve. Strict and smart croupiers in uniforms, elegant gentlemen, charming ladies in evening dresses and jewelry ... And, of course, roulette, and in the absence of it - card games: blackjack, poker, preference. Even if you do not know how to gamble, you can play at least a thrown fool, the main thing is the entourage, not the amount of the win. If someone from the company knows how to perform card tricks, you can make him the highlight of the program. You can combine a casino party with a party in the style of Chicago 30s - elegant straight-cut dresses and suits of "two" or "three" in a thin strip, hats and caps, gloves. And the game of "Mafia" after everyone has played enough cards for money (or candy).

As you can see, there are a huge number of ideas for themed New Year, you just have to choose the one that you like and show your imagination. In the end, the entourage is only part of the holiday, the most important thing is the festive mood within us.

What we arrange: a party in Mexican style. Mexico is a bright, sunny country with very cheerful, temperamental and sociable people. Cacti, ponchos, maracas, tequila ... So many attractive things! If you want to visit Mexico, you can go to a travel agency or throw a Mexican party. The Mexican theme will raise the degree of any holiday, making it hot, like chili, incendiary, like Mexican dances, and hot, like the temperament of Mexicans!

What we celebrate:

In fact, a Mexican theme can be chosen for any occasion, be it a birthday, a new year, or a corporate anniversary. And if you don't need an official reason to throw a party, you can organize a Mexican party on any weekend or choose one of the Mexican holidays for this event.

For example, on February 5 you can mark Mexican Constitution Day , 5 May - Victory Day at Pueblo , 16 of September - Mexico Independence Day , November 22 - Saint Cecilia's Day, the holiday of Mexican musicians , December 25 - Catholic Christmas ... Before the Great Catholic Lent in Mexico, there is a carnival week - what is not a reason for a Mexican party?

Where we celebrate:

Where it is convenient to arrange a celebration: at home, in a cafe, in the fresh air.

How we host the party:

1. Topic and title of the event

A Mexican party may have an original name: for example, "Hot maracas", "Mexicana party", "Crazy fiesta", "Tequila boom", "Party at the hacienda" etc.

2. Entourage for a Mexican party

Interior. To decorate the venue for a Mexican party, you can use:

* tablecloths and other textiles with bright colors. Fabrics with stripes and patterns are suitable. Use orange, bright yellow, blue and green colors actively, combining them. Remember our grandmothers' striped self-woven rugs and woven rugs? If you find such, be sure to use;

* multicolored satin ribbons - they can be hung anywhere and tied as you like;

* flowers with large, bright buds. These can be homemade paper flowers;

* cacti. Of course, what's a Mexican party without cactus? Cacti can be real, if, of course, you can collect them. But you can buy fake cacti or toy cacti - plastic or plush. Very beautiful figures of cacti are made from balloons - for this you need to contact the services of a company specializing in balloon decoration. Posters, pictures, photographs and panels depicting cacti will not be superfluous;

* fruit baskets, especially limes or lemons;

* numerous sombreros hung on the walls and under the ceiling. Sombreros can be made of cardboard and painted with bright colors;

* wicker products: baskets, fruit bowls, boxes, lamps, pieces of furniture, dishes on the table.

Well, all sorts of Mexican "stuff":

* maracas;
* chili peppers, for example in the form of a garland;
* guitar (if there is an old guitar, it can be brightly painted and hung in a conspicuous place, and for a large party you can order "guitars" from balls);
* Mayan hieroglyphs;
* Mayan pyramids in miniature;
* "Pot-bellied" vases with bright multi-colored painting;
* Mexican flag and / or a garland of balloons in the color of the Mexican flag, etc.

Mexican cactus mania

The music at the Mexican-style party should also be special - Latino-style.

Dress code for a Mexican party. If you want the guests to prove themselves, it is worth setting as the dress code simply "clothes in Mexican style." Oh, what are they just not coming up with! However, it is possible to concretize: for example, "Poncho and sombrero", or "Chaps and only chaps", "Seven colors in clothes" .

In general, be creative! For guests who come without hats, you can prepare a mini-sombrero made of cardboard the size of a saucer - such hats are held on the head with a thin elastic band.

A girl can come to a Mexican party like this:

Or like this:

Image for a young man:

Or like this:

Preparing props to start a Mexican party. Place a tray of tequila-filled glasses and a plate of lemon slices on a separate table, according to the number of party members. You will also need badges (you can take badges or paper medals on a thread) with the words "I am Mexican" or "I am Mexican", and then there should be any name typical for Mexico. For example, "I am Mexican Pedro" or "I am Mexican Juanita." Names must not be repeated. Place the badges next to the tequila tray, dividing by name into male and female.

Hide ten different fruit dummies at the party venue. You can also take real fruits, making notes on them (so as not to be confused with fruits prepared for a treat). You need to hide the fruits so that it is not difficult to find them. For example, hang a banana on a string on a curtain, put a lemon under one of the chairs, hide an apple on a chandelier, etc.

3. The course of the event "Mexican style party"

First, everyone who comes passes initiation procedure into Mexicans ... To do this, you need to drink tequila, eat a slice of lemon and get a badge. The icon is chosen randomly (they can be turned over beforehand). It is only important that the name matches the gender.

The guests can then be invited either to a Mexican bar or to Uncle Pedro's hacienda, depending on the place where the parties are held and its design. And, of course, from the wishes of the organizer. In fact, guests are invited to the tables.

Uncle Juan Carlos (the former owner of the hacienda, if it is a hacienda, or the former owner of a Mexican bar) has hidden a box of tequila and sweets somewhere nearby. I guess where the box is hidden, but I will exchange this information only for a dozen bananas and other fruits for my monkey. You find the hidden fruit, and I tell you where Uncle Juan Carlos's box is. In the meantime, you can have a light snack and a drink.

A few minutes later, the Host announces that he will only allow him to search for fruits after the guests have entertained him. Further, various games, contests, entertainment are held, after each of which the participants find one hidden fruit. When all ten fruits are found, the Host will give a hint to the location of the box with tequila and sweets. The guests find a box and sit down at the table to drink tequila, eat hot, and then dance and have fun in every way.

Mexican party: games, contests, entertainment

First Fun: "Guess the Song"

The presenter reads out a line from a famous song. Only this line is a reworking in the Mexican way, and sometimes also a shape-shifter. If guests cannot find a solution, the Host can give hints. The guest who gives the most answers can be awarded a prize. At the end, the Leader suggests finding the first fruit.

Alteration in the Mexican way:

* “A tornado screeched him a hymn: sleep, cactus, fall asleep ...” (The blizzard sang her a song: sleep, herringbone, bye-bye ...).

* A caballero full of strength is walking along the Colorado River (A young Cossack is walking along the Don).

* Marianne, Marianne, this state of Guerrero is yours and mine (Alexandra, Alexandra, this city is ours with you).

* And I strum the guitar in full view of the seniors and senorite (And I play the accordion in front of passers-by).

* Juan Carlos brought a canoe with shrimps to Acapulco (Kostya brought scows full of mullet to Odessa).

* Do not get sick, have a lot of tequila in stock, and we went home, to our hacienda (So be healthy, live richly, and we are leaving home, to the hut).

* The conglomerate of disparate states was forever united by small Mexico (the Union of indestructible free republics was forever united by Great Russia).

Shape-shifters in the Mexican way:

* "Caballero, caballero, burst into tears, because tears are a symbol of the desert!" (Captain, captain, smile, because a smile is the flag of the ship!).
* "Ah, the agave withers on the ground by the ocean" (Oh, viburnum blooms in the field by the stream).
* "On the prairie the bush dried up, on the prairie it did not grow at all" (A fir tree was born in the forest, it grew in the forest).
* "And the senorites are all the same: white, black, green" (And girls are different: black, white, red)

Second entertainment: Proverbs in the Mexican way

The presenter distributes to the participants paper sheets on which Russian (or well-known in Russia) proverbs, sayings, catchphrases, memes are written. Objective: to change the phrase, adding a Mexican flavor to it. First, the Leader can read out, for example, already prepared changed phrases:

* Sombrero interferes with bad caballero
* To be afraid of coyotes - do not go to the prairie
* There is nothing to blame for the moon, if in the dark you sit on a cactus
* You can't easily pull a cactus out of the sand
* Siesta time, tequila - hour
* Caballeros cried, injected, but continued to crush tequila
* Your poncho is closer to the body
* The lucky caballero was born in a sombrero
* Juanita - from the balcony, it is easier for Carlos
* A cactus is close, but you won't bite
* Look for a needle in a thicket of cactus
* Haun and sombrero
* Storks bring someone, but Mexicans are found in cacti
* You can't hide a skunk in a bag ...
* The beauty looks - as if she will give a peso.

Then the participants themselves take up creativity. Humor and creativity are welcome. Several options can be proposed. When everyone cope with the task, you can choose the best option by voting and present the author with a prize. Then the Leader offers to find the second fruit.

The third entertainment: A small table game with words "Sombrero and his amigos"

The presenter shows the sombrero, talks a little about its history and significance for the Mexican, and then suggests remembering and calling the “relatives” of the sombrero - that is, any hats, including those that are part of a folk costume and are out of use. Participants in a chain name one headdress at a time, you cannot repeat. Whoever calls the last one is considered the winner and receives a prize, and all participants together are awarded the right to find the third fruit.

The fourth entertainment: the game "Cactus"

Several volunteers are called. Each is given a large fresh cucumber (firm, firm) and a dozen toothpicks. At the command of the leader, the participants must insert all the toothpicks into the cucumber, making a cactus. Whoever copes faster gets a small prize. However, the presenter does not let the participants go, but invites them to remove the thorns from the cactus - that is, pull out the toothpicks. But you only need to do this with your teeth. Whoever is faster wins and gets a prize. After that, everyone is looking for the fourth fruit.

Fifth entertainment: Game "Abrasador Macho"

Volunteers are called (preferably men). In front of each, the presenter places a plate with ten lemon circles. Participants, at the command of the leader, must first put one circle in their mouth and, without swallowing, say: "Abrasador macho." Then, without taking out or swallowing the first slice of lemon, you need to put the second in your mouth and say again: "Abrasador macho." Do the same with the rest of the lemon slices. However, the time is strictly limited - exactly one minute. Whoever has fewer lemon slices on his plate wins. Then the Leader invites all party participants to find the fifth fruit.

Sixth Fun: The Game "Sharp Mexicans"

An inverted sombrero is placed on the floor. Those who volunteered to participate receive a set of items: 3 playing cards, 3 coins and 3 beans. Participants take turns throwing one object, trying to get into the sombrero. The distance should be at least one and a half meters. The host counts who hit the target how many times. As a result, the most accurate player who throws more objects in a sombrero gets a prize. This is followed by the search for the sixth fruit.

Fun Seventh: Mexican Chef Game

The presenter makes an eyeliner: “In Mexico, beans are loved and valued very much - almost as much as Italians honor their pasta, and we honor buckwheat. Cooked beans require careful handling. Let's see if any of you could work as a Mexican chef? " Two vessels are placed in front of each participant: one empty and the other with dry beans. Participants need to imagine that it is not dry, but boiled. A tool is also issued - tweezers or any forceps. Task: transfer the beans from one vessel to another as quickly as possible, without touching the product with your hands, but using only tweezers. Whoever is faster - the laurels of the winner. And the fastest can be awarded a Mexican chef diploma. After that, the guests are looking for the seventh fruit for the Host monkey.

Eighth entertainment: Comic bullfight

The presenter says that in Mexico they love bullfighting no less than in Spain. The pair "bull-torero" is selected. You can put fake horns on the bull's head. They hang a sheet of paper on their back with a Mexican word in large letters.

Bull's challenge: read the word on the back of the bullfighter. Torero problem - to prevent the bull from doing this. You cannot push, grab each other with your hands. Only hugs are allowed, but not too tight. The presenter puts on a musical composition during which a bullfight takes place. Several pairs of bullfighters and bulls can participate simultaneously. If the bull can see and read the word on the back of his bullfighter, then the prize goes to him. If by the end of the song he could not do this, then the bullfighter becomes the winner. The results are summed up, after which the search for the eighth fruit begins.

Fun 9: Mexican Ribbons Game

You will need ribbons about 20-30 cm long. There should be as many ribbons as there are guests. The color of the ribbons should be different: one third of the ribbons is red, the other third is white, and another third is green. The host must emphasize that these are the colors of the Mexican flag.

Three volunteers are called. Each one is given ribbons of the same color. At the command of the host, the players begin to tie one of their ribbons on the guests' wrists. But if there is already a ribbon of a different color on the wrist, you cannot tie your own. This means that you need to act faster in order to have time to "tie" with your ribbons as many guests as possible. When someone runs out of ribbons or there are no “tied” guests left, the results are summed up: whoever tied more ribbons of his own is the winner. Next - the presentation of the prize and the search for the ninth fruit.

If the company is small, the competition can be changed: not three participants are called, but six. Divided in pairs. Each pair is given ten ribbons of the same color. One of the couple should tie all the ribbons on his partner's body as quickly as possible. The winner is the pair whose ribbons are tied faster. Immediately after that, you can hold a competition for the fastest untying of ribbons.

Tenth entertainment: "Total Recall"

The presenter asks to remove the badges (badges, medals) that were handed out during initiation into the Mexicans. The badges featured various names. Now the host will check how attentive the guests were and what their memory is. He calls one guest and asks the others to remember what name was on his badge. Everyone who remembers - a small prize. Then the icons can be returned. After that, the guests are looking for the last, tenth, fruit.

The host picks up ten fruits for his monkey and gives a hint to the guests where the box with tequila and sweets is hidden. You can hand over a map that will help guests find “Uncle Juan Carlos's treasure” or give a hint with a riddle. When there is a box, everyone sits down at the table. Found tequila is poured, served hot. The Mexican party continues.
