What date will be the holiday of Eid al-Adha. Kurban Bayram - a bright holiday of sacrifice

On August 12th, all Muslims will celebrate an important holiday, Kurban Bayram (Kurban Hait). This celebration is dedicated to the ritual of sacrifice, which symbolizes the unity of God Allah and all Orthodox Muslims.

Eid al-Adha 2019

Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the Muslim calendar. This calendar is based on the lunar cycle, and not on the solar one, as the generally accepted Gregorian one, and therefore the year in the Islamic calendar is 10 (11) days less than the usual calendar. Therefore, the holiday date is annually shifted by one and a half weeks.

Because of this difference, even a faithful Muslim can not always immediately answer what date is Kurban Bayram - every year you have to calculate the date of the holiday again.

history of the holiday

Eid al-Adha identifies the love and obedience of man to the Almighty. The legend of the holiday is associated with the prophet Ibrahim, who was tested by Allah on his devotion.

Ibrahim was a devoted and humble Muslim preacher. But he faced difficult trials in life, he became a father at an advanced age, at the age of 86, his son Ismail was born. After some time, he began to have terrible dreams in which the Almighty, through the mouth of his archangel, asks him to sacrifice Ishmael.

At first, Ibrahim thought it was just a nightmare, but dreams began to recur every night. Then he realized that Allah himself is talking to him, and his will cannot be opposed. The man was forced to go to the valley of Mina (the future location of Mecca). Here he climbed a high mountain and began preparations for the sacrifice. Oddly enough, Ismail did not resist the decision of his father, just like Ibrahim, he was a believer and humbly accepted the will of the Most High.

At the moment when Ishmael lay on the sacrificial stone and was ready to say goodbye to life, the Lord appeared before the prophet and his son with the good news that Ibrahim had passed the test of faith, proving his devotion and love. As a reward, he was allowed to sacrifice a lamb, and Ismail remained alive.

And so there was a tradition, every year in a sign of humility and faith, an animal sacrifice. The deed of the prophet is considered a symbol of true faith and humility, as well as obedience, which will necessarily be rewarded. The holiday of Kurban Bayram became the main triumph of Muslims, along with Uraza Bayram.

How to celebrate the holiday

Eid al-Adha begin to celebrate in the early morning, even before the first prayer. Before going to the temple, each believer must take a full bath - a ghusl - and oil the body with incense - in a modern interpretation, bathe and use eau de toilette. Then comes the turn of the festive attire - the clothes must be clean, ideally even new, and elegant. The preparation for the celebration is being completed with the reading of takbir - a short prayer glorifying Allah. Takbir should be read all the way up to the threshold of the temple.

In the mosque or on a special open area, the mullah reads the morning holiday prayer. Then the clergyman gives a hutba, a kind of sermon in which the imam explains the meaning of the hutj, talks about the festival of Kurban itself and reveals the meaning of the sacrifice.

Festive Rite - Sacrifice

The main holiday ceremony, without fail, held in Kurban Bayram, is the sacrifice. A sheep, a camel or a cow can become a victim - depending on the wealth and size of the family.

The sacrificial animal must meet clear criteria:

  • not to be sick;
  • not to be exhausted or undernourished;
  • not be one-eyed;
  • not to be lame;
  • have whole (uncut) ears;
  • his horns should not be broken off.

These rules were derived on the basis of the words of the Prophet, explaining to the faithful the first traditions of sacrifice. The sacrificial animal must be at least six months old (in some Islamic movements, at least a year). The main thing in the rite is sacrificial blood, because, according to the Prophet, shed blood cleanses the souls. Before slaughtering a ram, a short prayer must be said.

You can make a sacrifice on any day of Kurban Hait, but best of all on the first.

  1. In Muslim countries, Kurban Bayram is considered a public holiday and is celebrated for at least three days. So in Turkey it is celebrated 10 days, in Saudi Arabia - 14, in Russia officially one day off, and even then not in all regions.
  2. In 2014, a decree was passed according to which all Russian Muslim soldiers who are not on combat duty that day can take time off to visit the mosque.
  3. A true Muslim must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his life. On Kurban Bayram, he must perform the ritual of sacrifice, regardless of his location.
  4. No matter in what region of the world, Muslims celebrate Kurban Hait, meat of a sacrificial animal and a lot of sweets must be present on the table.
  5. Muslim chronology is carried out according to the lunar calendar, which is why every year the celebration of Kurban Bayram is celebrated on different days.

Eid al-Adha holiday  - this is a day that shows us that we should be humble, truly believing, show mercy and always remember the greatness of God. The sacrifice brought to Allah is a symbol of true faith and love for the Almighty.

The meat of a sacrificial animal cannot be used for sale; it is also forbidden to pay meat with a butcher for sacrificing an animal. A third of the meat should be given to neighbors as a gift-treat, a third should be given to the poor as alms, and only a third should be used for a family holiday dinner.

Since Eid al-Adha lasts three days, making a sacrifice is allowed on any of the three days, but the best time is considered to be several hours after the morning prayer of the first day.

Treat

In Kurban Bayram, as in any Islamic holiday, great importance is attached to the festive table. And the main dish on it is dishes from the meat of a sacrificial animal. Moreover, meat is not enough just to boil or fry, it is necessary to cook it with spices, aromatic herbs and seasonings. The dish must certainly smell great and look especially festive.

At the end of the meal, sweets are served on the table, but they are no longer given such importance as, for example, Nauryz. For treats, it is customary to call all the relatives and friends, and in some countries the invitation of strangers, for example, tourist travelers, is welcome.

Allah will soon see the holy month of Eid al-Adha 2019. One of the most honorable days in Islam is Eid al-Adha (the festival of sacrifice or sacrifice), which is also known among the Turkic peoples as Eid al-Adha. They begin to celebrate it on the tenth day of dhul-hijj and continue on the following three days - tashrik days.

What is this holiday, what is its innermost meaning and how should I celebrate Eid al-Adha - we will analyze in this article.

What date will Kurban Bayram be in 2019?

According to the decree, Kurban Bayram in 2019 was officially declared a non-working holiday in some constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Crimea.

Date and time of the holiday:

  • holiday prayer in Moscow will begin at 7-00 in the morning;
  • in Russia, the holiday will be celebrated from August 11 to 15;
  • On August 11, holiday prayers will be held in all mosques in Russia;
  • monday, August 12, is officially declared a public holiday.

Feast of Sacrifice: Origins

Like every significant day in Islam, Eid al-Adha (Kurban) has a deep meaning: it reminds Muslims of the importance of always relying on the Most High and relying on His will in everything.

Sacred Kur’an tells us the story of the prophet Ibrahim (alayhi salam), who was given a great test: Allah ordered him to sacrifice a son - the long-awaited boy, whom Ibrahim (alayhi salam) loved.

Relying on the will of Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) sincerely intended to fulfill the covenant of the Most High, and the son of the prophet was just as ready to give his life in the name of Allah. Having experienced their devotion and loyalty, the Gracious and Merciful in the last moments allowed Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to sacrifice a lamb instead of a boy.

Every year this great day reminds us that in any situation we must rely on Allah, because everything happens only according to His will and desire, which means it is for our good.

As Kurban Bairam is noted

There are several features that distinguish Eid al-Adha from other special days in Islam, such as takbir pronunciation, worship on the night before the holiday, sunnah before going to the mosque, festive - holiday prayer and, of course, sacrifice.

What date begins the holiday of Kurban Bayram in 2019

Takbir

The day in Islam does not begin with sunrise, but with the setting of the sun; therefore, Eid al-Adha comes with the sunset of the day preceding it. It is after the sun disappears beyond the horizon that Muslims begin to read a special takbir:

  • “Allahu akbar (3 times), lilyailha illa llahu waLlahu akbar! Allahu akbar wa la lllahi eh hamd! ” - thrice
  • “Allahu akbar (4 times), kabiron walhamduli Llahi kasiron wah subkhanallahi bukrotan wa a sila”

You can read takbir anywhere, men do it out loud, and women traditionally modestly silently. Takbir is pronounced after fard prayers and before reading the azkars. The last time takbir should be proclaimed after the evening prayer of the 13th Dhul Hijj.

Holiday night

It is a good thing to stay awake on the night before Eid al-Adha. It is possible at this time to read additional prayers, ask for Du’a, read the Holy Quran and perform other acts of worship of the Almighty. If possible, it is better to perform the night and morning prayers of the Jama’atom in the mosque. Watching the night of Kurban means observing the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him).

Sunnah before the holiday

Also on the night before committing the kurban, there will be a sunnah to perform a gusul - complete ablution, with the intention of performing a bathing sunnah for the sake of Allah. Then you should cut your nails and put your hair in order, as well as prepare clean (or even new) clothes in which you will go on a holiday.

In the morning, it is worth scenting incense and in festive clothes go to the mosque. The start time of the holiday prayer must be checked with the local imam.

Sacrifice

The most important action of the holiday of Kurban Bayram is the sacrifice of an animal. Traditionally, this is a ram, but it is allowed to use a goat, a cow or a camel. It is important to try to distribute the meat of the sacrificial animal to those in need: both this and the fact of sacrifice will result in a great reward on Judgment Day, if Allah wills. We need to look for any opportunity to commit Kurban, as this is a great blessing for us and the opportunity to atone for our sins.

There are several important rules:

  1. For kurban use only a healthy animal
  2. Necessarily an adult animal: if it is a ram - over one year old, a cow - over two years old, and a camel over five years old.
  3. One who performs the rite must be a Muslim and make the right intention in front of the kurban.
  4. It is important to make a sacrifice in strict terms: starting after salat al-Eid and until sunset on the 13th day of dhul-hijj.

It is allowed to distribute the meat from the kurban to relatives, or even leave it to yourself if the family needs it. But the best thing is to give everything to the poor, and leave a small piece for yourself like a barakat.

I wish everyone in the right way and to usefully hold the Eid al-Adha celebration in 2019!

Among other things, on the day of Eid al-Adha and three days after, you need to go to visit relatives and friends, give gifts, enjoy the holiday, praise the Almighty and ask Him for the forgiveness of sins. And may Allah accept our prayers! Amine!

This holiday is not complete without sacrifice and prayer in the mosque, and you can’t eat before going to it.

There is evidence that the payment for the love spell is inherited in the form of a family curse.

The entire race of the customer suffers to the seventh knee.

Love spell is a terrible thing.

In fact, this is corruption that cripples the victim, his health and his whole life.

You will not envy the one who went to this black villainy - the consequences of a love spell for the customer will be terrible.

Throughout the day, a Muslim is obligated to pray and purify spiritually, not forgetting self-improvement and self-determination of himself as a person.

Definition of magic abilities

Choose the most suitable description for you and find out what hidden magic possibilities you have.

Pronounced telepathy - you can read and transmit thoughts at a distance, but you need to work hard to achieve your goal and believe in your hidden abilities.

Remember that the lack of a mentor and control of abilities will do good to the detriment and no one knows how destructive the consequences of the devilish influence can turn out.

All signs of clairvoyance. With certain efforts and support of higher forces, one can develop the gift of knowing the future and seeing the past in oneself.

If the forces are not controlled by a mentor who can help control them, breaks in temporary space are possible and evil will begin to seep into our world, gradually absorbing it with dark energy.

Be careful with your gift.

By all indications - a medium. It is about the opportunity to establish a connection with the spirits and even control the passage of time, but it takes years of practice and the right mentor.

If the balance of power is broken, then the darkness will begin to absorb the remnants of good and power, which could serve for the good, I will move to another hypostasis and darkness will reign.

In all respects - witchcraft. You can study and direct damage, evil eye, you can do love spells and witchcraft will not be an impossible task.

But everything must be used exclusively for the good and made so that others do not suffer, with their innocence, from your superpowers granted from above.

The development of internal forces requires at least 5 years of practice and the right mentor.

Most characteristic of you is telekinesis. With the right concentration and efforts, which can be compressed into a spherical force, you will be able to move small, and over time, larger objects with the power of thought.

When choosing a mentor who has more power, you have a bright future, which can be overshadowed by the transition to the dark side, if there is not enough strength to keep yourself from the temptations of Satan.

You are a healer. Practical magic, conspiracies, spells and everything connected with it are not just words, but your life choices and strength, which are given by the higher mind and this is not just like that, but for a sacred purpose that you will soon find out.

It will be like a vision, like a prophetic dream that you can never forget.

Remember that this force should be used only for good, otherwise darkness will swallow you and this will be the beginning of the end.

Kurban Bayram what kind of holiday is Jewish or Tatar

Without fail they put on new clothes and use incense.

The day has come for the greatest holiday of all Muslims - the Feast of Sacrifice or Eid al-Adha. We celebrate this day in memory of the selflessness of our spiritual forefather Hazrat Ibrahim, may there be peace with him, who, by the command of the Almighty Lord, expressed his readiness to immediately sacrifice his firstborn son Ismail.

The Holy Quran says this about this:

(Hazrat Ibrahim asked Allah Almighty to grant him a son, and Allah answered his request).

“And We delighted him with [the news] of the [birth] of the meek boy (Ishmael)” (37:101).

(Hazrat Ibrahim with his firstborn son, when he matured, went up the mountain to make a sacrifice to the Lord).

“When [Ishmael reached the age at which he could show] zeal [and work together] with him (with his father), [his father] said:“ Oh my son! Truly, I see in a dream that I stab you, [sacrificing], and see what you think? ". Said [to his father Ismail]: “O my father, do what is commanded to you! You will find me, if Allah wills, from the patient “” (37: 102)

(Hazrat Ibrahim (A) intended to fulfill the command of Allah to sacrifice his firstborn son, not knowing yet that this order was sent to him only to test the firmness of faith).

“When they both obeyed [the will of] Allah and [Ibrahim] laid his forehead [to the earth], and [then] we called to him:“ O Ibrahim! After all, you justified the vision [of yours and fulfilled what was ordered to you]. ” Truly, We do so to the beneficent! Truly, this is a clear test. And we have redeemed by his great sacrifice ”(37: 103-107).

(Instead of the first-born Ismail, an animal is entangled with horns in the nearest bush, sent as a sign from the Lord. In memory of this event, Muslims sacrifice cows, rams and even camels on Kurban Bairam day, and the meat of sacrificial animals goes to feed the poor )

In the verses of the Holy Quran, the 105th verse of the Su-As-Saffat Surah (Lined up in a row) is noteworthy, which says:

“Truly, we do so to those who do good!”

This is a very important moment of Revelation, the understanding of which opens sincerely believers the path to the realization of their own happiness, even in the hours of trials. Below we will return to a more detailed discussion of this issue.

Indeed, Allah Almighty refused to accept human sacrifice, demonstrating that this phenomenon has no place in the religion of Monotheism. This is also a demonstration of the peace-loving nature of the religion of Islam: from the very beginning, the Almighty Himself clearly showed that He does not need us to send other people for the sake of the ideals of religion. He did not want this from His sinless prophet, what can we say about us simple sinners ... God does not need anything, including the lives of His creations, which are already in His power, but must continue to live for the sake of fulfillment divine plans on earth, and not part with the life bestowed from above without any meaning. The same, incidentally, applies to the sacrifice of animals, which was canceled human sacrifice. This ritual action is performed not because Allah needs the blood of the sacrificial rams, but because the Almighty creates a precedent for us that allows us to remember the calamities of those in need and to match them in their needs. The meat of sacrificial animals is used for its intended purpose - it is eaten by the poor so that everyone has the opportunity to share the joy of a bright holiday. And stabbing cattle in any case is necessary. Human nutrition should be balanced in terms of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, therefore, vegetarianism in its pure form is not useful for us, and sometimes it can even be dangerous. Eating healthy meat is a natural process, therefore, nothing but condescending irony from Muslims can cause the comments of modern Islamophobes about the alleged "barbaric acts" that take place on Kurban Bayram on the streets of European cities. After all, meat - if necessary - is consumed by everyone, however, the greatest Muslim holiday is also the day of the triumph of humanism, mercy, compassion and human solidarity.

So, returning to the question of the “virtuous reward” that the Almighty gave Hazrat Ibrahim and his son - what is it? If we adhere to a superficial interpretation (for his steadfastness in faith, Hazrat Ibrahim was spared the need to sacrifice his firstborn), we will fall into an inevitable error. If so, then it turns out that the abolition of human sacrifice by the Almighty was made as a reward for perseverance, and not because human sacrifices in principle are not nice to Allah. But this is impossible to believe, given the nature of the sermon of the Prophet of Islam, may Allah bless him and his family, the spirit of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Moreover, reasoning logically, if getting rid of the need to sacrifice a son was a reward for steadfastness and righteousness, then millions of other people were also awarded the same reward - in front of which such a gloomy prospect did not arise at all, and among them there were both righteous and avid sinners! And even more than that, the Qur'an mentions only the only case of such a sacrifice performed in the name of Allah, using the example of Hazrat Ibrahim. And the conversation about the “virtuous” award is conducted in the plural, not in the singular and not in the dual, as the rules of Arabic grammar provide, if it was only an example of two people - Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail, may there be peace over both of them. We emphasize once again: in this case, it would be more logical to assume that those who did not end up in a similar situation and were not confronted with the most difficult choice between faith in Allah and the life of the first-born son would get a much greater reward!

So, the only logical conclusion remains (by the method of exception): the reward of the Almighty with the virtuous - to everyone, without exception, and to Ibrahim and Ismail in this example - is precisely what in sending the hardest test as a sign of special attention and location of the Almighty.

Many verses of the Qur'an and reliable hadiths testify that the test is a sign that the Almighty Allah paid attention to the faith of a person and checks its strength. The Holy Qur'an says: “Do people really think that they will be left [only for saying]:“ We have believed, and they will not be tested? ” (29: 2). And the Qur'an also says that the best and purest of us will be oppressed: “And we want to show mercy to those who were weakened on the earth, and make them leaders, and make them heirs” (28: 5).

Imam Ali, may there be peace with him, in a collection of speeches, letters and aphorisms "Nahj al-balaga"  (“The Way of Eloquence”), in the 189th Khutba, speaks of it this way:

“Truly, our business is difficult, complicated, no one can tolerate it, except the slave of the believer, whose heart has been tested by Allah for faith.

“And if Allah wanted to create Adam from the light, blinding gaze with his radiance, striking his mind with brilliance, catching his breath with his incense, he would have done so. And if he had done so, then the bowed would have bowed before him, and the angelic judgment through him would have been facilitated. But Allah - He is Praised by He - tests His creatures with some things about the basics of which they are not knowledgeable, in order to distinguish them [by each other] and remove all pride from them, and alienate them from conceit ...

And if Allah allowed anyone to be exalted from His servants, then He would allow the chosen ones from His prophets and His close ones, however He - Praised He - forbade them the abomination of self-exaltation and was pleased with their modesty, so that they fell to the ground with their cheeks, their faces dusted dipped, being before believers in self-abasement, being a people deprived (earthly goods both from the side of the oppressors, and because of their own modesty and cut down earthly needs. - T. Ch.).

So, Allah tested them with hunger (constraint) and checked with exhaustion, took a sample of them from fright and shocked them with their troubles. So do not judge the contentment and anger of [Allah] by property and offspring, being ignorant of the ways of verification and testing through consolidation and enrichment, as He said - He is praised and magnified: “Do they really believe that what We supply their property and sons, - [this is for the fact that] we are in a hurry We [bestow] with their blessings? Yes, they do not understand! “(23: 55-56). Indeed, Allah truly tests His servants, who are exalted in their souls, close to Him, that are humble and deprived in their eyes ...

And if Allah wished - He was praised - to open for His prophets, where He sent them, the treasures of gold and gold-bearing veins, and around the gardens would plant and gather together with them the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth, then He would do that, but if He had done so, there would have been neither trial nor proper retribution for him, and there would have been no message [about how to distinguish between people], and would not have been granted accepting [faith] rewards of those who passed the test, and the believers would not have been given due retribution for their virtues, and would not have had the meaning of the name (i.e., the criteria by which the righteous person is called the righteous and the sinner - the sinner would disappear, since creating a comfortable environment for their existence would make it impossible for a precedent to manifest their true essence. - T. Ch.). But, however, Allah - He is Praised, He made His messengers possessors of power in their determination, but weak in their external condition, giving them at the same time the ability to be content with little, which fills hearts and eyes with carelessness, and poverty, which cuts eyes and ears.

And if the prophets had the forces of irresistible force or honor of the irrefutable, or power to which the necks of men turn, and [horses] riding were saddled for her, it would be too easy for people to instill, they would be too distant from self-exaltation, and they would believe by coercion reduced to them, or by the temptation of attraction, and their intentions would be common, but fragmented good deeds. However, Allah desired - He is Praised - so that there would be following the prophets of Him, and recognition of His Books, and fear of His face, and obedience to His commands, and humility before obedience to Him, with deeds directed only to Him One, to which not a bit other would not be mixed. And the more severe the calamities and trials, the more abundant the reward will be ”(Hutba 192).

Thus, one of the eternal meanings of the Eid al-Adha holiday for us is to look forward confidently even when faced with trials, remembering that any difficulties for a sincere believer are nothing more than a sign of special disposition and attention to their faith from the side of the Creator.

This day becomes all the more meaningful on a global historical scale for the history of Shiism as a religious community within the Muslim community, more than any other subjected to severe trials and deprivations. The reign of the Umayyad, Abbasid, Osman dynasties in Turkey and the Wahhabis on the Arabian Peninsula have remained in history for centuries by the Shiite Holocaust. The Shiite genocide continues to this day in many places on the planet, once again proving the truth and steadfastness of our faith and preparing a kindling of hellfire for those who want to destroy us from the face of the earth.

Allah Almighty, putting us all to the test, like the hardest torments, physical and mental, to which the best of Muslims were subjected, accepts our faith and ranks the faithful Shiites in the community of God's chosen ones. And therefore, in spite of everything, we are still alive and confidently moving forward, year after year rejoicing in the new holiday.

In a series of Muslim holidays, a special place is occupied by Kurban Bayram. This custom has specific features. To ignorant people, its subtext from the outside may seem gloomy, but in fact the triumph is bright and even soulful. In light of preparations for it in 2019, it is worth studying the history and philosophy of the holiday.

Kurban Bayram - the meaning of the holiday

Literally, the name Kurban Bayram is translated as "a feast of sacrifice." Arabs call it Eid al-Adha, and Turkic peoples - the designation already mentioned to us. Translated from Arabic, “kurban” (“zabih”) means “victim”. As for the word “bayram”, this is a common Turkic word meaning “holiday”.

To understand the meaning of the Kurban Bayram holiday, it is worth considering that Muslims put a very deep meaning in these two words. In their understanding, everything that makes a person closer to Allah is called "kurban." Moreover, the desire for God and spiritual approach to him requires self-denial, sacrifice. This is the very concept of the holiday.

The emergence of Kurban Bayram

The emergence of this custom is of particular interest to researchers. Since Islam, as a religion, is several centuries younger than Christianity, certain biblical motifs are traced in it. And the legend of the festival is largely intertwined with the tradition of the sacrifice of Abraham.

The Qur'an tells us that the angel Gabriel (Gabriel in the Bible) once appeared to the prophet Ibrahim. He informed the prophet that Allah requires sacrifice from him, and the son of Ibrahim should become the victim himself. He was obedient to God and began to prepare for the slaughter. The Qur'an does not name the son, but it is generally accepted that he was called Ismail. According to legend, Ibrahim appeared in the valley, where Mecca is located today. His son showed obedience to his father just as the prophet himself obeyed Allah. Therefore, he did not resist, both of them only prayed. In the end, it turned out that God only wanted to test the loyalty of Ibrahim and the firmness of his faith. No sacrifice was made, Ismail survived, and Ibrahim was allowed to use a lamb instead of his son to slaughter. Moreover, according to legend, the prophet was rewarded for his meekness, and soon his second son Ishaq appeared.

This legend became the starting point of the origin of Kurban Bayram. It should be noted that the holiday date is not fixed. It depends on the Hajj and the lunar calendar. Kurban Bayram is thus celebrated exactly 70 days after the end of Uraza Bayram. In addition, the date of the celebration is calculated by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia according to the position of the moon. So, the holiday of Kurban Bayram in 2018 was celebrated on August 22, and in the next 2019 it will be on August 12.

How is Kurban Bayram celebrated

Muslims prepare for the solemn date in advance. The scenario of the holiday Kurban Bayram is well known, it is always carried out according to strictly agreed rules. 10 days before Kurban, believers begin to fast and prepare for the festival. Important is the eve - the so-called Arafat Day. It is he who is decisive, for it symbolizes the final readiness of Ibrahim for the sacrifice. According to the Prophet Muhammad, all sins accumulated by man over the whole year are atoned for in Arafat.

Regardless of whether Kurban Bayram is held in Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkiria, Turkey or another Muslim country, believers should take a bath from an early festive morning, and then change into clean clothes. Then everyone goes to the mosque, where the prayer is read. After the prayer of thanks is completed, the mullah reads the sermon, and then commemoration of the deceased begins - you need to visit the cemetery.

An important part of the holiday is the ritual sacrifice itself. As a rule, sheep are sacrificed on Kurban Bayram. However, the following animals may be a victim:

  • goat;
  • camel;

Wealthy families donate one sheep for each family member. If a bull or a camel is sacrificed, then this large animal can “replace” up to seven people at once. However, not every family can afford the luxury of stabbing several sheep. Therefore, the rules allow you to make a sacrifice of just one sheep for the whole family.

If the previous days Muslims fast, then in Kurban Bayram it is forbidden. Believers should eat, rejoice, congratulate loved ones and even ordinary people they meet on the street. Moreover, the holiday itself is considered, albeit general, but family. But the next day it is customary to go on a visit and congratulate the owners on Kurban Bayram.

The customs of Kurban Bayram

Traditionally, during fasting, believers give alms, try to do as many things as possible. But the main condition is prayer preparation for the holiday. Kurban Bayram himself symbolizes mercy, love for Allah and for people. All this is reflected in the customs of the holiday.

To make a sacrifice, only a strong and completely healthy animal is selected. His skin is usually given to the mosque, and meat is not just treated. There is a tradition to divide the carcass of a sacrificial ram into three parts. Of these, only one share remains with the family. The other two go to neighbors, relatives, and also in favor of the poor.

Despite the need for sacrifice, this holiday is bright. It is customary to congratulate loved ones both personally and by mail. Therefore, traditionally prepared postcards for the holiday Kurban Bayram. They may contain verses or be signed in prose.

As for any holiday, here you can not do without gifts. The best is traditionally considered the arrival of guests who are trying to nourish satisfyingly. Moreover, on the first day of the holiday it is customary to cook dishes from the heart and liver of a ram, and they try to treat themselves to meat on the following days. Children are given sweets, honey; for adults, a beautiful Quran will be appropriate as a gift. Eid al-Adha celebration is a must output  day, and in general, celebrations and fun last up to 3-4 days.
